GRADUATE HOUSE EVENTS January 15, 1999 Members & Residents Spit Roast The first social function of the new year was yet another great success. Its purpose was to provide an opportunity for members and residents (some of whom had only just arrived) to meet and enjoy each other's company. As Paul was on holiday, our Warden Marcelle used an excellent firm of caterers to provide a spit roast and salads. Marcelle herself provided five luscious varieties of ice cream -
raspberry, fruit salad, cointreau, mango and chocolate all made by her "own fair hands". (Orders may be placed with the Warden, who, as a result of the compliments she received, is considering leaving Graduate House to start an ice-cream factory). Members of our Solo and Mono groups were well represented in numbers and mingled with residents and general members to provide the pleasant friendly ambience we were seeking. Patricia Boaden
THE GRADUATE COUNCIL ELECTION OF FIVE MEMBERS Nominations are hereby called for the election of five Council members to hold office from the date ofthe Annual General Meeting to be held on Thursday 27 May 1999. Any vacancies occurring prior to the close of nominations will be included within this election. A proforma follows, but no special form is required. Valid nominations must include the full printed name and the signature of the proposer, seconder and candidate, all of whom must be members.

Nominations close at Congratulations May we congratulate our members Marion and John Harvey who have been married sixty years on January 30, 1999. They have been stalwart supporters of our functions for the last 30 years and have rarely missed a monthly luncheon, and for Marion, a session of Women's Forum.
Condolences Neil Grave husband of Anne Grave. We offer our condolences to Anne whose husband Neil suffered an untimely and unexpected death in mid December 1998.
