Dear Friends,

Wow, what a year it has been for the cattle industry! We first want to thank our past, present and future customers for believing in our genetics, trusting our product and supporting our program. Our family is very blessed to continue to raise cattle and offer you the fruits of our labor! It is our pleasure to invite you to our 8th Annual Bull and Female Sale.

You will not find a better set of home-grown, gentle-minded, and complete Charolais bulls. As a family operation, our goal all year is to work hard and do our very best in raising cattle that will add value and consistency to your operation and help make you more profitable. This year’s offering represents another step forward in our breeding program with a strong emphasis on performance, structural soundness and especially disposition.

The bulls this year exhibit good uniformity, and while some will excel in one area and others in another, we believe you’ll find them to be very well balanced in both genotype and phenotype. The genetics of these bulls have been selected from some of the best programs in the country with careful attention to traits that impact the bottom line. The majority are sired by bulls we have used for several years now including 8S Incredibull, LT Citation, LT Marksman, WC Chart Topper, WC Inferno, and Box P Xavier.

We once again will offer a limited number of replacement females, but with a twist this year! There will be an introduction to the heifers later in the catalog with details. These heifers were selected with an emphasis on maternal strength, fertility, performance, and longevity.

As you review the catalog, please feel free to give us a call as we welcome any opportunity to visit with you about the cattle, our program, and how these genetics will fit your operation. Bulls and heifers are available for viewing anytime as they are right next to our home! Be sure and check our website for updates and links to review the videos near sale time. If you can’t attend the sale in person, you can utilize DVAuction or give us a call to place a bid for you. Thank you again for considering us as your seedstock partner.

Thanks, Austin, Courtney, Xander, Axton, Aubrey, & Axle

CE: Calving Ease (A higher value indicates greater calving ease)

BW: Birth Weight (A lower value indicates the difference in average birth weight)

WWT: Weaning Weight (The expected difference in average weaning weight of calves)

YWT: Yearling Weight (The expected difference in average yearling weight of progeny)

Milk: Maternal Milk (The genetic ability to express pounds of weight through dam’s milk)

MCE: Calving Ease Maternal (A higher value indicates greater calving ease with a sire’s daughters)

MTNL: Total Maternal (A value to predict weaning weight due to genetics for growth & maternal ability)

SC: Scrotal Circumference (The expected difference of bull’s in circumference at yearling)

TSI: Terminal Sire Index (Is a formal method of combing many EPD traits into one single value. The TSI represents a dollar index per terminal progeny produced, ranking them for profit potential. Example: If Sire A’s index is $191.00 and Sire B’s index is $200.00, then we would expect Sire B’s offspring to average $9.00 more net return than Sire A’s offspring)

Perhaps the best kept secret in the Charolais breed for nearly a decade. But a few sharp breeders have taken note of Citation’s tremendous pedigree, performance, and EPD profile. Our Reference Sire A is Citation’s “Incredibull” son. Perhaps, you’re more familiar with NGC Capitalist 118J ET who just sold a 2/3 revenue sharing semen interest in the National Sale for $70,000. That makes Citation the paternal grandsire to last year’s talk of the breed NGC Checklist 406M who commanded $215,000. With Citation semen now limited, here’s your opportunity to tie into those genetics.

Incredibull is just that, he offers incredible calving ease, top end growth and carcass quality. Need a bull that can boast a top 5% CE, top 10% BW, still hit the top 5% for YW, and maintain an elite carcass in the top 1% for REA, 5% CW, and 15% MARB? Check those boxes for an AI sire on the AICA sire website and you get ONE result! That’s Incredibull!

Marksman was selected from the 2020 LT sale in partnership with Domek Charolais in Wibaux, MT. He boasts excellent feet, phenotype, and a quite disposition. Whether in Montana or Missouri, his progeny excel in those traits, having placed many bulls in commercial herds and daughters being retained to carry on those valuable genetics. Marksman appears to work well across a broad range of matings with consistent quality.

Hailing from Domek Charolais, Xavier was our selection from their sale in 2021. He was a performance standout amongst his peers, and he continues to pass that along to his progeny. You’ll find his growth EPD’s for WW and YW inside the top 5% of the breed and his CW and REA in that realm as well. Be sure to check out his daughters being offered as open heifers this year, they are tremendous!

This year we showcase our female offering with a little bit of a twist! This past year we were fortunate to have had an opportunity presented to us that would allow us to expand our numbers. To increase our cow numbers, we have enough faith in our program that we want to do so using our own heifers. We originally felt like not putting any females in this year’s sale may be best for our program. But after visiting with some good friends, they convinced me we should still offer some females. But not just some females, our most elite females! This year’s sale selection will be smaller, but the quality will be second to none. Anywhere!

There are 29 heifers that made their way through the selection process to represent the next generation. We solicited some keen-eyed help to then sort through those 29 and find the very top end. These 8 heifers that are cataloged here are truly from the heart of our replacement heifers! They sell as lots 51-58.

But hold up, we aren’t surrendering ALL 8 of our best heifers! On sale day, these 8 heifers will be paired up either by like type and kind, or by genetic merit. They will then be brought into the sale ring as pairs and sold as buyers’ choice. The winning bidder will select which one of those two they’ll take home from that pairing, and we’ll take the other home for ourselves. You could have the very best female from 8 Story Farms standing in your pasture this summer! The quality will be outstanding on both heifers, and the decision will be tough!

Due to the timing of the sale and our AI date, these heifers will all be in a synchronization protocol. The heifers will be scheduled to breed the following Saturday, April 4, 2026. The winning bidders will have the option for their heifers to stay at the farm for a week and be bred to any 8 Story Farms owned sire at no additional cost. After AI is completed we can arrange for delivery.

8 Story Farms will retain the rights to 1 successful flush in each of the heifers selected. That flush will be at the buyer’s convenience and at 8 Story Farms expense.

This is a big bodied heifer who exhibits extra volume while maintaining a very feminine look. She’s not hard to pick out in the pen! She is linebred to the Schurrtop Eaton Choice K717 bull, bringing extra growth and carcass merit. Backed by a great EPD profile that includes calving ease, a YW in the top 3% and high marks for both REA and MARB. She finishes it off with a top 15% TSI number. If you aren’t convinced, turn back to lot 43 and see the great bull that her maternal sister put in this sale 8S Switch 5038 P!

Here is another heifer from our home-raised herd sire, 8S Incredibull 1039 P. Exhibiting the traits we appreciate about her sire, she is wide topped and stands on a firm square base. This one has the makings of a great cow, with a sound EPD profile and an excellent maternal heritage. Her dam is one of the best females on the place and has been an absolute bull producing machine. Her first 5 calves, all bulls, were sale features. The fact we have cataloged her first daughter may well be seedstock malpractice. But I said I’d offer you my best, so here she is!

If performance is what you seek, here is your heifer! She’ll lead the pen for frame score, and back that up with a top 5% WW and top 2% YW EPD. When reviewing my notes for the catalog, Her’s simply read “POWERFUL”. But as you review her picture and video to come, you’ll notice that she is still very feminine fronted and exhibits the qualities you would want in a brood cow. Her maternal lineage is strong, with the Frost cow line tracing back to Eaton Ranch with Eatons Winston 10555.

I’ve noted that she has extra spring of rib, and sets on a great foundation and a good hind set. There is a balanced set of EPD’s in this future front pasture female. Avoiding extremes and just giving you tremendous value. If you are concerned about carcass quality, she hits the top 8% of the breed for Marbling. Her dam has what may be the best udder on the farm! She is a maternal sibling to 8S Grand Slam 3005 P, working for Jerry Newsome in Kidder, MO. He is a calving ease herd sire that we used successfully on heifers, averaging 68lbs BW.

Bred for consistency with Ledger on both sides of the pedigree tabulation. Want to imagine what her calves may look like someday? Another Citation, and another model profile. The consistency of the Citation female’s year in and year out are amazing. They tend to be moderate, exhibit strong feminine traits, offer plenty of performance, modest calving numbers and carcass quality. This heifer will check those boxes. Her maternal pedigree is as predictable as they come. They breed up well and raise calves above the average on a regular basis.

A strong level top line, polished off with square hips and a great profile. I’m not sure, but she might just be the most attractive Citation in the pen. Expect her to become a moderately framed mature cow with a well-attached tidy udder. Her maternal line going back to her dam and great granddam has put every female into the replacement pen and a number of bulls have made their way through the sale ring. A full sister sold in the 2024 sale to Matthew Messick in Pennsylvania.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, I’m probably wasting print space here. She is absolutely spectacular in nearly every way, shape, and form! When we purchased her sire, this is exactly what we had in mind. Breeding him on the Ledger line and stamping out cattle with performance and phenotype just like her. She has a full sister in the 1st calf heifer pen, and there’s udder quality and mothering ability on display. Another maternal sister sold in 2020 to Brent Charolais in Alton, KS and she just weaned off the #1 ranked bull calf by Keystone at 841lbs to ratio 116!
