Dear Goshen College community and friends,
The 2024–2025 academic year was one of meaningful progress and deep purpose at Goshen College. Across campus, our students, faculty and staff, alumni and friends continued the steady, faithful work of learning, teaching and serving—work grounded in our Anabaptist-Christian convictions and responsive to a changing world. As I reflect on the year, I am grateful for the many ways this community has remained rooted in who we are while boldly investing in what lies ahead. Together, we marked important milestones that strengthen student success, academic excellence and our shared campus life. Highlights from the year include:
• The opening of the newly renovated and expanded Academic Success Center in the Harold and Wilma Good Library, bringing advising, tutoring, accessibility services and academic support together in a central, welcoming space to serve all students better.
• The recognition of five outstanding alumni during Homecoming Weekend whose lives exemplify Goshen College’s mission through service, leadership and character: Charles Hostetter ’63, San Francisco, California; Adam Tice ’02, Goshen; Samita Thapa ’12, Turin, Italy; Sophia Sears ’17, Paoli, Indiana, and Carl J. Yoder ’57, Goshen.
• The public launch of Connected Cause: The Campaign for Goshen College, our comprehensive campaign with a goal of raising $68 million in gifts and pledges by the end of June 2026 for seven strategic priorities, including nursing and public health, scholarships and student success, academic excellence, campus renewal, global and local engagement, athletics and the Goshen College Fund.
• The announcement of a new Master of Arts in Teaching program, responding to urgent teacher shortages and preparing educators to serve schools and communities with skill and compassion.
• Our role as host for the national Anabaptism at 500 worship service and celebration, alongside the release of the Anabaptist Bible, a landmark project reflecting Goshen College’s longstanding commitment to faith and scholarship.
• The celebration of the 127th Commencement with keynote speaker Sarah Augustine, who challenged the 190 graduates to lead with courage, truth and care for their neighbors.
• The completion and celebration of the historic renovation of Westlawn Hall, now home to the Center for Nursing and Public Health, featuring state-of-the-art learning spaces and enhanced dining and gathering areas that serve the entire campus.
None of this progress happens on its own. It is made possible through your generosity, partnership and belief in Goshen College and its students. Thank you for investing in this community and its future. Together, we continue to nurture life, leadership and service in a place “where everything connects.”
With gratitude and hope,
Dr. Rebecca J. Stoltzfus ’83 President of Goshen College
