THE SCHOOL CUPS
The Bunbury Cup for the House achieving the most Academic Commendations
The Headmaster’s Cup (Boys and Girls) for the winning Houses across all Inter-House sport
The Rees-Graham Memorial Trophy for the House with the highest marks in the major sports
The Arts Cup for the House with the highest marks across all Inter-House Art, Music, Debating, Drama & Baking competitions
The Talbot and Longmoor cups awarded in May to the winning boys’ House and the winning girls’ House in the Inter-House Drill Competition
The House Trophies for the girls’ House and the boys’ House achieving the best combined effort grade average across all year groups
_______ The Gordon Foundation Award for the House achieving the highest number of Honour Programme points, these are awarded to students hard work, behave well and selflessly serve the School and their House.

THE PRIZES Almost all of the prizes awarded will be in the form of books. Each book contains a bookplate giving the basis for the award and is signed by the Chairman of The Gordon Foundation. Prizes awarded this afternoon fall into one of three broad categories: Form prizes, subject and specialism prizes, and character development or leadership awards. The Form prizes are awarded for effort and attitude. Subject prizes are awarded for academic excellence in a particular subject area. The development and leadership awards take into account the development of strengths and character of a student or recognise a level of leadership shown during the course of the year.
The Gordon Medal The Gordon Medal is now awarded to the School Sergeant Major and Colour Sergeant every year. In addition, the Medal is awarded to the Pipe Major and Drum Major in recognition of services to the Pipes and Drums, and to each House Captain in recognition of services to marching and parades.
The Higginson Medal The Higginson Medal is awarded to the Head Boy and Head Girl each year.
The Headmaster’s Award The Headmaster’s Award, nominated by staff, is for students who have demonstrated excellence in one or more ways which we feel should be recognised by the school. This could be for a student who has contributed a great deal to the school over the past year, or one who has made progress in spite of coping with difficulties/setbacks. It could be for a student who has developed personally or socially or one who is perceived to be outstanding in one or more fields.
Honours Programme The programme seeks to recognise Gordon’s five character values by rewarding students who work hard work, behave well and selflessly serve the School and their House.
