Most of us carry baggage in our minds. Sometimes, it is very hard to let go of our stuff and trust God. He alone will carry it for us and will see us through to the other side. Our internal baggage is even harder to let go of it seems. You see, Satan says we need that baggage to keep us safe, or that it drives us to success, or that it makes us stronger. And since we
cannot see it, it can build up until the weight of it is just too much to carry—and eventually it falls on us.
The enemy is so wrong—he wants to keep us bound down with life and the pressures we have here on Earth. Although we face spiritual baggage, can it keep us from having a right relationship with Christ? Just give it all to Him 46 // August 2021 and leave it all at the altar. Stop picking the baggage up again and again.
“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:29-30).
Our wearing comes from enduring the burdens of life. You may have a sickness, depression, pain, loneliness or more. Do not forget to pray and talk to someone. Do not be afraid to open up. “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee; He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved” (Psalm 55:22). Here is another one of my favorite verses: “Casting all your care upon Him, for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7). God is going to give you that very opportunity. If God is working in your heart and you know who you are, please do not miss out on the greatest decision you will ever make. Come up to Christ and give all the burdens to Him. We can trust in God and He will always be there to lead us in the right direction. He will never leave us.
