Welcome to ARTS at GONZAGA 2026/2027! This season, we’ve curated an exciting collection of performances, grouped into four themes that invite you to explore new genres and revisit old favorites. Since the launch of the diverse and eclectic Myrtle Woldson Center Presents series, we’ve striven to be Spokane’s home for Dance, and the 2026-27 performances will not disappoint. The new season includes the return of Pacific Northwest Ballet with new works from their recent Seattle season. In the spring, the dynamic dance maker Kyle Abraham’s company A.I.M will make its Spokane debut, and Ballet Folklórico del Rio Grande returns for the holidays with Campana Sobre Campana: Christmas in Mexico! In a series we’re calling American Voice, we’re curiously exploring the question of what makes a voice or music “American”. The series includes four different concerts across a collection of musicians — Italian American, Mexican American, Indian American, Midwesterners, and Southerners — performing

jazz, folk, corrido, country & western, blues, and R&B. It will be a “gumbo” of a journey, one we hope you will take right along with us! Our third group features performances from across the seas — International Virtuosity. From Japan, Taiko drumming, and from the UK, a cappella choral masters and of course, Shakespearean actors. Finally, we hope you’ll join us for the Holidays, when, every weekend from Thanksgiving to Christmas at the Myrtle Woldson Center, we celebrate the season in every way possible with folklórico dance, big band jazz, candlelight choruses, and hot holiday swing. John Pizzarelli Presents "Dear Mr. Bennett" SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2026 7:30 p.m. TICKETS $28 - $54 LIMITED CABARET TABLES AVAILABLE

Grammy Award-winning producer, guitarist, and vocalist John Pizzarelli celebrates the centennial of iconic singer Tony Bennett with the release of his 2026 album Dear Mr. Bennett. John’s father, the other legendary Pizzarelli guitarist, was a frequent sideman for Tony, appearing on several albums, including 1960’s To My Wonderful One and 1969’s I’ve Gotta Be Me. In this very personal and heartfelt concert, Pizzarelli’s trio - featuring sevenstring guitar, piano, and bass — swings and croons through Tony Bennett’s American songbook.

The Northwest’s premiere ballet company returns to the Myrtle Woldson Center with a new program curated by artistic director Peter Boal for our Spokane audience. The touring company will feature twentyfour dancers performing works from their recent production of Prokofiev’s The Sleeping Beauty as well as contemporary works by Christopher Wheeldon, Ulysses Dove, and Jessica Lang. The luminous Ms. Lang is PNB's 2024-27 choreographer in residence, and her jazzy and joyous salute to the music and art of Tony Bennett entitled ZigZag is not to be missed. Latin GRAMMY Award-winning vocalist and composer Mireya Ramos joins forces with Kansas City-based The Poor Choices for a bold bridging of Americana, Country, Mariachi, Ranchera, Roots, and other influences, expressing the creativity of music at the border. Mireya is the voice of the GRAMMY Award-winning Mariachi group Flor de Tolache, and The Poor Choices are an eclectic and talented group of Country & Western musicians from the Midwest. “It sounds wild, right? Ballet Folklórico del Rio Grande and Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar return to Spokane for a third year with a joyous celebration of the holidays in México – Campana Sobre Campana. Named for the beloved Andalusian Christmas Carol (“Bells Upon Bells”), this vibrant show weaves cherished Mexican traditions into a magical story of the season.

Ms. Lisa Fischer in concert is addictive. “Every performance is so enriching, so exciting, so transcendent that you want more.” (Minneapolis Star Tribune). As a backup and featured singer for Sting, Tina Turner, The Rolling Stones, and so many more, Ms. Fischer helped make stars. In this 2013 Academy Awardwinning film, director Morgan Neville documented the untold stories of music’s most famous backup singers, including Darlene Love, Merry Clayton, and Ms. Lisa Fischer, who will be performing at the Myrtle Woldson Center on February 20. This acclaimed film also won the Critics’ Choice Movie Award (2014) for Best Documentary, an Independent Spirit Award (2014) for Best Documentary, and a GRAMMY (2015) for Best Music Film, to name a few. A.I.M by Kyle Abraham has, for two decades, been at the forefront of contemporary dance, becoming one of the most acclaimed touring companies in the world. Celebrating its 20th anniversary throughout 2026, the company exemplifies “lush movement, infectious music and magnetic dancers..." as noted by The New York Times. A.I.M has been featured in Vogue, Essence, among many other publications, and was on the April 2025 cover of the Harper’s Bazaar. The company is described as a “postmodern gumbo” with an ardent voice and artistic process informed by robust conversations with people from diverse perspectives. A.I.M performs works by Abraham as well as new and existing works by choreographers who have influenced Abraham's artistry. A.I.M is based in New York City. Actors From the London Stage Presents King Lear by William Shakespeare

SATURDAY, MARCH 20, 2027 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. TICKETS $40

We’ve invited Actors From the London Stage back to Spokane because we loved their 2024 Hamlet, and we love the concept. Five actors without elaborate sets or fancy costumes lay bare Shakespeare’s play to its essence: raw human themes, poetic words, and dramatic actions. The text is the profound tragedy of King Lear, in which greed and cruelty bring destruction, and in this tragic world, love, empathy, and loyalty are our only defense. Yamato: Drummers of Japan SUNDAY, APRIL 4, 2027 7:30 p.m. TICKETS $32 - $52

YAMATO is a Japanese Taiko drumming group based in Asuka-mura Nara Prefecture, affectionately known by the Japanese as the hometown of Japan. YAMATO has given more than 4,500 performances across 54 countries around the world since their formation in 1993. The company trains intensely in this ancient art form that merges music and martial arts. Taiko is musical, physical, and spiritual - sweeping up artists and audiences in waves of energy, reverence, and delight.

Drawn from the founding gift of Dr. Norman and Esther Bolker to the Jundt Art Museum, this exhibition focuses on a selection from the museum’s permanent collection. Beginning in 1964 with the purchase of a color woodcut, “Pisa,” by Irving Amen, the collectors amassed one of the more important print groupings in this region. The Bolkers gave Gonzaga University more than 750 objects over three generous donations in 1984, 1995, and 2003, and supported the art with an endowment established at Gonzaga in 2015. The collection and this exhibition range from 16th-century European prints to late 20th-century American works, including art by Rembrandt van Rijn, Käthe Kollwitz, and Pablo Picasso. Given that the donors desired “for art students to study and for the community to enjoy,” the Bolker Collection remains at the core of the Jundt Art Museum's mission.

Permanent Collection: 3D Arcade Gallery, September 12, 2026 to January 9, 2027 This display presents selections pulled from museum storage of sculpture, ceramic, glass, and other three-dimensional art objects, including two bronzes by Auguste Rodin and recent gifts from donors Les and Carolyn Stephens.

Two Artists, Minna Citron and Joellyn Duesberry Jundt Galleries and Arcade Gallery, January 23 to March 25, 2027 Reception: Friday, February 5, 2027, 4-7 p.m.

This permanent collection exhibition centers on the images of two important American artists. Citron, with a career that spans much of the 20th century, created prints in the 1930s as a part of the Fourteenth Street School with Isabel Bishop, Reginald Marsh, Kenneth Hayes ARTS at GONZAGA SEASON 2026-2027 19

Miller, and Moses Soyer. By the 1940s, Citron shifted to abstraction, like many artists of her generation. She spent time at Stanley William Hayter’s Atelier 17 in New York City and began creating experimental prints that combined various media. The works by Citron span the expanse of her career and mostly consist of 30 art objects donated in two gifts in 2020 and 2025 by Christiane H. Citron, granddaughter of the artist. A painter who traveled extensively and

split time between studios in Denver, Colorado, and Millbrook, New York, Duesberry earned renown for her landscape paintings of places as distinct as Maine and Montana, New Mexico and New York, California and Tuscany, and Peru and Provence. The paintings and monotypes by Duesberry in this show come from 42 works gifted to Gonzaga University in 2022 and 2024 by the artist’s family and estate.

Senior Art Exhibition April 10 to May 8, 2027 Opening reception: Friday, April 9, 2027, 4-7 p.m. Drawing upon traditions dating to the AD Gallery in the basement of College Hall, the Jundt Art Museum once again hosts the exhibition of works created by candidates for graduation in Art from Gonzaga University.

ABOUT JUNDT ART MUSEUM Jundt Art Museum is a cultural gem at Gonzaga University, dedicated to inspiring creativity and fostering an appreciation for the arts. Since its opening in 1995, the museum has showcased a diverse range of exhibitions, from contemporary works to timeless masterpieces, offering students, faculty, and the broader community meaningful artistic experiences. Named in honor of James and Joann Jundt, whose generosity brought this vision to life, the museum serves as both an educational resource and a space for reflection and inspiration. The museum provides space for traveling exhibitions and houses Gonzaga University's growing art collection. This collection features major pieces of glass art by Dale Chihuly, bronze sculptures by Auguste Rodin, and a diverse range of works on paper, paintings, ceramics, photographs, and tapestries. The collection pieces are periodically rotated from the storage vaults to the exhibition areas. Jundt Art Museum spaces include the Jundt Galleries, a 2,800-square-foot gallery that can be divided into several exhibition spaces; the Arcade Gallery, a 1,288-squarefoot lobby for exhibitions; and the Chancellor's Room, a 1,450-square-foot exhibition lounge. The Jundt also includes the Print Study Room for Gonzaga's print collection.

Tickets may be purchased at the Box Office. Each venue will have Will Call tickets available for pickup 90 minutes before the start of any performance. Ticket exchange requests must be received at least 24 hours before the scheduled performance and are subject to availability. Exchanges can be requested by phone or in person at the Box Office. ACCESSIBLE SEATING & SPECIAL NEEDS

Food and beverages are sold at most performances at the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center. Food and beverage items are not allowed in the theater except in approved logo tumblers with lids or water bottles with caps.

CHILDREN

Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center performances are not recommended for children under 6, unless the performance is specifically designated for young audiences. As a courtesy to other patrons and the performers, children and their parents or guardians making distracting sounds or movements may be asked to move to different seating or watch from monitors in the lobby. An adult must accompany children under the age of 12. All patrons age 2 or older must have a ticket. Strollers are not allowed in the auditorium.

Late Arrival: All tickets must be picked up by the performance’s scheduled start time. Late seating is at the sole discretion of management and is not guaranteed. If you are placed in a new seat by management after the performance has begun, you may not be able to return to your originally reserved seat. As a courtesy to others, patrons who exit the theater during a performance will be admitted back into the auditorium only during an intermission or suitable pause, if any. There will be no refunds or exchanges granted for missed performances or late arrivals. Arnold Lecture – Francisca Cho Buddhist Cinema: The Medium and the Message TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2026 | 4:45 p.m. The Globe Room at Cataldo Hall Dr. Cho will share her insights into how Buddhist teachings emphasize the importance of using media to create transformative and meaningful experiences. This perspective invites audiences to appreciate cinema as a powerful vehicle for religious reflection. Dr. Cho will illustrate this central idea through a discussion of the popular movie Groundhog Day, exploring how this film’s narrative embodies Buddhist principles of repetition, transformation, and awakening.

Rukavina Lecture – Meghan Sullivan Loving Strangers WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2026 | 5 p.m. Hemmingson Center - 004 Meghan Sullivan is the Wilsey Family College Professor of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. She serves as Director of the University-wide Ethics Initiative and is the founding director of Notre Dame’s Institute for Ethics and the Common Good. Sullivan is deeply interested in how philosophy contributes to the good life and in the best methods for promoting philosophical thought and is the co-author of The Good Life Method with Paul Blaschko.

Gonzaga University’s Department of History launched the annual William L. Davis, S.J., Lecture in 1971 in honor of Father Davis, who taught history at Gonzaga for forty years. A substantial gift from Edgar and Zita Berners continues to support campus visits by renowned historians from across the U.S. and beyond. For more than fifty years, their lectures have enriched campus and community discussions about a wide variety of historical topics.

The Gonzaga University Student Film Festival FRIDAY, APRIL 30, 2027 | 7 p.m. Jundt Auditorium The Gonzaga University Student Film Festival is an annual, juried showcase of film and video projects. Spokane International Film Festival (SpIFF) FRIDAY, MARCH 5, 2027 7 p.m. The 2027 Spokane International Film Festival (SpIFF) runs March 5 through 7 and kicks off at the Myrtle Woldson Center on Friday evening with a film and festivities. The curated annual festival features a diverse lineup of narrative features, documentaries, and short films along with panel discussions, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, and social events.
