Overview In partnership with Human Resources and ITS, purchasing has put together the following to provide ideas and preliminary budgetary information regarding inclusive work setups. Standardized office equipment plays a crucial role in ensuring a consistent and efficient work environment. Providing good ergonomic equipment, such as adjustable chairs, desks, and monitor stands, is essential for promoting employee health and productivity. Ergonomic equipment helps reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders, enhances comfort, and supports proper posture, leading to fewer work-related injuries and improved overall well-being. Moreover, caring for the person involves recognizing the individual needs and preferences of employees. Offering ergonomic solutions tailored to each person’s unique requirements fosters a sense of value and respect. This personalized approach not only boosts physical health but also contributes to mental well-being, as employees feel more supported and appreciated. Investing in ergonomic equipment is a proactive step towards creating a healthier, happier, and more productive workplace. Supervisors should ensure that employees have the tools and resources needed to perform the work. This is a short list of approved ergonomic office equipment that is available for purchase using department funds. Any employee that is unable to complete the essential functions of their job due to a medical disability should contact leaves & accommodations to speak with a specialist regarding their specific needs.
