n 2025, Casa de Campo Resort & Villas emprendió la restauración más significativa en la historia de Teeth of the Dog, el icónico diseño de Pete Dye y un símbolo indiscutible del golf en el Caribe. Más que una renovación, este proyecto representa un profundo acto de respeto al genio creativo de Pete Dye, cuyo legado vive en cada hoyo, especialmente en el emblemático hoyo 8, donde reposan parte de sus cenizas bajo una placa conmemorativa. Tras más de cinco décadas de exposición al entorno marino, la erosión y el desgaste natural hicieron imprescindible una intervención integral para preservar la esencia estratégica del campo y garantizar su excelencia por muchas generaciones más. La restauración, liderada por Jerry Pate Design, se enfocó en recuperar fielmente la visión original de Dye, sin reinterpretaciones, aplicando precisión técnica y métodos modernos. Además del re-cespedado completo con Dynasty Paspalum, la restauración incluyó la adición de tres pulgadas de arena en los fairways para mejorar la jugabilidad y la eficiencia de la irrigación. Los greens fueron restaurados a sus dimensiones originales concebidas por Pete Dye, con sutiles recontorneos, mientras que todos los bunkers alrededor de los greens fueron rediseñados con fondos planos y caras más definidas para un mayor impacto visual. n 2025, Casa de Campo Resort & Villas undertook the most significant restoration in the history of Teeth of the Dog, the iconic Pete Dye design and an enduring symbol of Caribbean golf. More than a renovation, the project represents an act of profound respect for the creative genius of Pete Dye—whose legacy lives in every hole, most notably the emblematic 8th hole, where part of his ashes rest beneath a commemorative plaque. After more than five decades of exposure to the marine environment, erosion and natural wear made a comprehensive intervention essential to preserve the course’s strategic essence and ensure its excellence for generations to come. The restoration, led by Jerry Pate Design, focused on faithfully restoring Dye’s original vision, with no reinterpretations—only precision, respect, and modern execution. COASTAL EXPERTISE AND ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP A critical component of the project was the contribution of Costasur Dominicana, whose technical team—led by Ing. Eusebio Núñez Malena and Juan Velázquez, Vice President of Costasur Dominicana—played a fundamental role in the rehabilitation and protection of the coastline. A formal Grand Opening Celebration will take place from March 8–11, with the official reopening of the legendary seaside course scheduled for March 10. Beyond the full re-grassing with Dynasty Paspalum, enhancements included the addition of three inches of sand to the fairways to improve playability and irrigation efficiency. This invitational event is more than just a sport; it celebrates the future of over 500 children and teenagers from the Humo de Amor Foundation, founded in 2002 and operated by the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation in Bonao, Monseñor Nouel Province. The foundation’s primary mission is to provide these children with access to education, medical care, and nutrition—an initiative that embodies the passion, tradition, and social responsibility of Arturo Fuente Cigars. The opening remarks of this 5th Invitational Tournament were given by Ciro Cascella, president of Arturo Fuente Cigar Club and CEO of Tabacalera Fuente; as well as Carlito Fuente, president of the board of directors of Tabacalera Fuente, who shared with 132 players competing in categories A and B, in Two Scramble format, resulting in the tournament absolute winners Manuel Luna and George Riley, who won with the best gross score. The tournament was held at one of the country’s most prestigious private golf courses: Romana Country Club, at Casa de Campo Resort® & Villas. M Cargo celebró con rotundo éxito la décima segunda edición de su torneo de golf invitacional, en el marco de la conmemoración de su 30 aniversario, con cuatro días llenos de competencia, actividades sociales, espectaculares fiestas y presentaciones artísticas, teniendo como escenario el majestuoso Punta Espada Golf Course, en Cap Cana. M Cargo celebrated the twelfth edition of its invitational golf tournament with resounding success, as part of its 30th anniversary celebration, with four days full of competition, social activities, spectacular parties and artistic presentations, taking place at the majestic Punta Espada Golf Course in Cap Cana. For the first time, were played four rounds of golf and the record amount of RD$7,572,860 was raised for four selected foundations: Junior Achievement Dominicana, Transformando Vidas para el Futuro, Proyecto ELA and De Blanck. The tournament featured 424 players who competed under the Modified Best Ball Stableford format with 70% of the handicap, in categories A, B, C; and the Ladies played in Two Scramble format. The Gross Overall winners were Juan Cayro Delgado and Fermín Moore, while Jay and Olived González won Net Overall, and the winners of the best net score from Thursday’s round (which was rescheduled for Saturday), Amaury Martínez and Billy Santos. All three pairs win an all-expenses-paid trip to experience The Champs in Utah. Ramsés Atallah, president of BM Cargo, was in charge of the tournament’ closing remarks thanking sponsors, players, clients, collaborators and the event staff for their constant support.

The combination of the dense green, the quiet lakes, the proximity of the Caribbean Sea and the tropical forest, is what impacts the most of this majestic tour with four combined scenarios: Parkland, Scottish Links, Caribbean and Desert. The designer's idea was to combine four styles of holes in different environments, so that the course begins with Parklandtype holes 2,3,4 completely surrounded by lakes and waterfalls, then Caribbean-type the 4 holes that border the Caribbean Sea next to the 9 and 18 which would also fit into a Links type course and finally, a Desert type would be completed by holes 11, 14 and 15, in whose landscape large rocks and sand stand out.

The country southern coast is the home of Santo Domingo –the capital city of the Dominican Republic– the First City of the Americas, “First City of the New World”, and offers golfers the possibility to play in different world-famous golf course within a thriving metropolis brimming with vibrant culture which has a rich historical background environment. La idea de hacer este campo de golf de nueve hoyos se origina por la inquietud de un diplomático chino que tuvo la iniciativa de conformar un club social y de golf en el área. Santiago is the second most important city in the country, which is affectionately call “Ciudad Corazón” given its location in the center of the Dominican Republic. a Romana Country Club de Casa de Campo Resort® & Villas fue el escenario donde la Asociación Palos Quitao (PQ) realizó la 21 edición de su tradicional Torneo de Golf Benéfico, el más exclusivo y solidario del país, el cual, desde 1991, lleva más de 15 millones de pesos donados a diferentes Fundaciones del país, y donde resultaron como máximos ganadores del torneo el equipo de Michele Podestá, Alejandro Farach y José Bonetti. El XXI PQ contó con la participación de 174 jugadores de golf en formato Scramble de tres, con la coordinación técnica de Raúl Cendoya. Las palabras del Cóctel de Bienvenida, estuvieron a cargo de Andrés Pichardo, presidente de Casa de Campo, mientras que en el inicio del torneo, hablaron Miguel Roig, presidente de PQ, y Juan Velázquez, por Costasur Dominicana. También jugaron Pádel 24 personas, siendo los ganadores Miguel Mejía y Jaime Álvarez, en 1er. lugar; Jaime Mota y Pedro Mota, en 2do. Lugar y en 3er. Lugar Raúl Alfonso y Manuel Báez. Durante la cena de premiación se entregaron 1.5 millones de pesos a las fundaciones Heart Care Dominicana, FACCI y WalkAbout Foundation, reafirmando el compromiso de PQ con las causas que transforman vidas. Esa noche, Ferdinando Lam arche, en nombre de la directiva de la Asociación PQ, reconoció a Miguel Roig y Maríajosé Turull de Roig en agradecimiento por todo lo que han hecho por el torneo PQ.

a Romana Country Club at Casa de Campo Resort® & Villas was the setting where the Palos Quitao Association (PQ) held the 21st edition of its traditional Charity Golf Tournament, the most exclusive and charitable in the country, which, since 1991, has donated more than 15 million pesos to different Foundations in the Dominican Republica, and where the team of Michele Podestá, Alejandro Farach and José Bonetti were the top winners of the tournament. The 21st PQ featured 174 golfers competing in a three-player scramble format, with technical coordination by Raúl Cendoya. At the Welcome Cocktail Reception, Andrés Pichardo, president of Casa de Campo, was in charge of the welcome words and at the tournament’s opening, speeches were given by Miguel Roig, president of PQ, and Juan Velázquez, representing Costasur Dominicana. 24 people also played Padel, with the winners being Miguel Mejía and Jaime Álvarez, in 1st place; Jaime Mota and Pedro Mota, in 2nd place and Raúl Alfonso and Manuel Báez in 3rd place. During the awards dinner, 1.5 million pesos were given to the Heart Care Dominicana, FACCI and WalkAbout Foundation foundations, reaffirming the PQ commitment to causes that transform lives. This evening, Ferdinando Lamarche, on behalf of the board of the PQ Association, recognized Miguel Roig and Maríajosé Turull de Roig in gratitude for everything they have done for the PQ tournament.

l equipo Interior, capitaneado por Manuel Luna, conquistó el XIX Campeonato de la Copa Corrie, celebrada en Punta Espada Golf Course, en Cap Cana, al superar al equipo de la Capital con marcador final de 13.5 contra 10.5 puntos. La tradicional competencia, que enfrenta a los 12 mejores golfistas de la Capital contra los 12 mejores del Interior del país, se desarrolló durante tres intensas rondas en formato Fourball (mejor bola), Foursome (alternado) e Individual, demostrando el alto nivel competitivo del golf dominicano. En la jornada inaugural, ambos equipos empataron 3-3 bajo la modalidad Fourball. En la segunda ronda, el equipo del Interior tomó ventaja con un 3.5 a 2.5 en los Foursomes, y finalmente, en los duelos individuales del domingo, consolidó su triunfo con marcador de 7 a 5, asegurando el acumulado de 13.5 a 10.5. Entre los jugadores más destacados del equipo campeón sobresalieron Rhadamés Peña, Óscar Sánchez y David James, quienes ganaron sus tres partidas. Por su parte, en el equipo de la Capital —capitaneado por Carlos Hoyo— el juvenil Santino Doglioli fue la gran revelación al sumar también tres victorias individuales. El Saque de Honor, para dar inicio al torneo, estuvo a cargo de Brenda Corrie, hija de don Jack Corrie, fundador del torneo, acompañada por sus hijos Rachel y Taylor Khuen, quienes representaron a la nueva generación de la familia Corrie en este emotivo homenaje.

he Interior team, captained by Manuel Luna, won the XIX Corrie Cup Championship, held at Punta Espada Golf Course, in Cap Cana, by beating the Capital team with a final score of 13.5 to 10.5 points. The traditional competition, which pits the 12 best golfers from the capital against the 12 bests from the interior of the country, unfolded over three intense rounds in Fourball (best ball), Foursome

(alternating), and Individual formats, showcasing the high level of competition in Dominican golf. On the opening day, both teams tied 3-3 in Fourball. In the second round, the team from the interior took the lead with a 3.5 to 2.5 victory in Foursomes, and finally, in Sunday’s Individual matches, they secured their win with a 7 to 5 score, guaranteeing a cumulative score of 13.5 to 10.5. illy Pumarol hizo historia al conquistar la medalla de bronce en los Juegos Bolivarianos Ayacucho-Lima 2025, la primera presea del golf dominicano en un evento del ciclo olímpico. Pumarol tuvo una semana de juego muy estable y su score de 274 en el torneo le dio un 10 bajo par, para ganar la tercera posición. En la cuarta y última ronda, Pumarol, jugador de Creando Sueños Olímpicos, tiró 69 palos, dos bajo el par 71 del Lima Golf Country Club. Manuel Torres, de Venezuela, fue el campeón del torneo con – 15, fruto de 269 golpes, para ganar el Oro; mientras que la Plata correspondió a Gabriel Morgan, de Chile, con – 13 (271). Pumarol sacó un palo de ventaja sobre el ocupante del cuarto lugar, el paraguayo Gustavo Silvero (-9, 275). El también dominicano Juan José Guerra cerró en la posición 12 con tres bajo el par. Los XX Juegos Bolivarianos Ayacucho - Lima 2025, se llevaron a cabo del 22 de noviembre al 7 de diciembre del 2025, en Lima Metropolitana y tuvieron a Ayacucho como sede secundaria en Perú. Estos Juegos marcan el inicio del ciclo olímpico para las Américas, sirviendo como la primera gran competencia cuatrienal que da pie a los Juegos Suramericanos, Centroamericanos y del Caribe, y Panamericanos, culminando en los Juegos Olímpicos de Verano.

illy Pumarol made history by winning the bronze medal at the Bolivarian Games Ayacucho-Lima 2025, the first medal for Dominican golf in an Olympic cycle event. Pumarol had a very consistent week of play, and his score of 274 in the tournament gave him 10 under par, reaching third place. In the fourth and final round, Pumarol, a player from ‘Creando Sueños Olímpicos’ (Creating Olympic Dreams), shot a 69, two under par at the Lima Golf Country Club’s 71 course. Manuel Torres, from Venezuela, won the tournament with a score of -15 (269 strokes), taking the gold medal. Gabriel Morgan, from Chile, won silver with a score of -13 (271). Pumarol finished one stroke ahead of fourth-place finisher Gustavo Silvero, from Paraguay, (-9, 275). The 20th Bolivarian Games Ayacucho-Lima 2025 were held from November 22 to December 7, 2025, in Metropolitan Lima, with Ayacucho serving as a secondary venue in Perú. These Games mark the beginning of the Olympic cycle for the Americas, serving as the first major quadrennial competition leading up to the South American, Central American and Caribbean, and Pan American Games, culminating in the Summer Olympic Games.
