Players register individually or with a partner and are allocated to teams, creating an immediate sense of belonging. Across a defined season, teams compete in weekly 9-hole rounds, accumulating points through simple formats before progressing to a final. This creates a clear narrative, consistent engagement, and a compelling reason for players to return each week.

Twilight Golf Leagues are intentionally simple and enjoyable. The team-based format removes many of the barriers associated with traditional competition, replacing them with a more relaxed, social experience that still retains a competitive edge.
Over the course of the league, teams accumulate points through a combination of formats, leading to a final round that determines the overall winner.
Dedicated team franchises were developed for Australia and New Zealand. We can work with our partners to do the same for their own regions. For example, the Springboks team or Lions team.

DRIVING MEASURABLE PARTICIPATION GROWTH
In partnership with The R&A and England Golf, Twilight Golf Leagues were piloted as part of a broader initiative to explore new participation formats and engage non-traditional golfers.
The programme focused on delivering structured, social leagues across 10 venues in England, targeting casual golfers and those not currently engaged with traditional club competition. Clubs were supported with a complete operational and marketing framework, while Golf Genius managed the technology and league delivery.
Key Outcomes
A significant proportion of participants were non-members, confirming the format’s ability to attract new audiences into the game. Player satisfaction was exceptionally high, with all surveyed participants indicating they would recommend the league to others. Clubs reported increased utilisation of off-peak tee times, as well as stronger engagement with golfers who had previously been inactive or playing irregularly. The social nature of the
format also created a more welcoming environment, encouraging repeat participation and stronger connections between players and clubs.
Strategic Impact
For England Golf and The R&A, the pilot demonstrated the potential for Twilight Golf Leagues to operate as a scalable national programme.
The combination of a simple format, centralised delivery, and strong player appeal provides a foundation for broader rollout across the club network.
