Garage Sale Trail is Coming to Golden Plains Get ready to declutter and make some extra cash as Garage Sale Trail comes to Golden Plains Shire on 7-8 & 14–15 November 2026. Over two big weekends, thousands of garage sales and markets will be popping up across the country. It’s free to get involved and a great way to: • Make or save money: the average household sale makes $761 while community groups and schools raise upwards of $1300. • Meet the neighbours: bring your street together or host a joint sale with friends.
• Keep good stuff out of landfill: Give your pre-loved items a second life and support our local circular economy. When you register, you’ll get everything you need to run a great sale, all provided for free. Whether you're hosting a sale on your driveway, teaming up with a neighbour or organising a fundraiser for a local school or club, it all starts with getting on the map. Learn more and register your garage sale at garagesaletrail.com.au/golden-plains.

NEW ALL ABILITIES CYCLING PROGRAM Set to LAUNCH
Council is partnering with All Stars to deliver an inclusive cycling program designed to support people of all abilities to get active, build confidence and enjoy the social benefits of cycling in a welcoming environment.
Come Along to the Linton E-Waste Drop Off Event Following the success of our previous E-waste Drop-Off Days, we're bringing this free recycling event to Linton on Friday 25 September from 9am to 1pm at the Linton & District Bowling Club car park. This is a great opportunity for residents to safely and responsibly dispose of unwanted electronics. E‑waste includes any item with a plug, battery or power cord that is no longer working or no longer wanted. From microwaves and power tools to coffee machines and more, this is an
easy way to clear out old electronics and help keep valuable materials out of landfill. Council encourages all residents to take part in these collection days to help reduce waste, protect the environment and support sustainable recycling practices. For further information, and to register to attend, visit goldenplains.vic.gov.au/resident/ waste-management/e-waste. Walk-ins are also welcome on the day.
