GHMB-18 トワイライト・グロウ（Twilight Glow）

楽曲解説 2004 年に福岡市内の高等学校吹奏楽部からの委嘱により作曲した金管八重奏曲です。委 嘱時の要望に応える形で、ジャズテイストを持った、そして一般的な楽器編成とは異なった 作品になっています。各楽器の音域も（トロンボーン１とテューバ１を除き）無理のない範 囲に収めています。 作曲の打ち合わせに伺った際、それはちょうど黄昏時でしたが、窓から見えた柔らかな光 が作品の発想となりました。とは言え、その情景を描写しようとはしたわけではありませ ん。夜の闇が寄せてくるにつれ、むしろ活気づいてくる街や人々の感情がここには現れてい るかもしれません。 演奏時間：約４分 40 秒 This is a brass octet piece commissioned by a high school band in Fukuoka City in 2004. In response to the request at the time of the commission, this piece has a jazz taste and is different from the usual instrumentation. The range of each instrument (with the exception of trombone 1 and tuba 1) is kept within a reasonable range. It was twilight when I went to the composition meeting, and the inspiration for the piece came from the soft light that I saw from the window. However, I did not try to describe the scene. Rather, the work may express the emotions of the town and its people, who become more animated as the darkness of night approaches. Duration : 4’40”
