Investing in Owensboro’s Future Strong communities are built by people and organizations that believe in tomorrow. For generations, the associates who serve clients through Baird Wealth Management have been part of the Owensboro community. Many local families first came to know them through Hilliard Lyons, a firm with deep Kentucky roots and a longstanding commitment to helping individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations navigate important financial decisions. When Hilliard Lyons joined Baird in 2019, clients gained the strength of one of the nation’s largest employeeowned financial services firms while continuing to work with the advisors and professionals they knew and trusted. The transition preserved what mattered most: the value of relationships. At Baird, every financial plan starts with a conversation. Behind every investment account is a story, whether it’s a family preparing for retirement, a business owner building a legacy, a young professional establishing financial independence, or
a nonprofit seeking to expand its impact. That long-term commitment was evident in Baird’s recent ribbon-cutting celebration at its new office at 1925 Frederica Street. The investment in this modern facility with its enhanced technology and expanded client spaces, reflects Baird’s confidence in Owensboro’s future and a continued commitment to serving the people and organizations that help this community thrive. While the location has changed, the mission
remains the same: helping clients make informed financial decisions, building lasting relationships, and supporting the growth of the community we are proud to call home. Because investing in Owensboro has never been just our business. It’s our commitment. Michael Antonelli Michael Antonelli, is a Market Strategist for Baird Private Wealth Management. He educates clients and encourages clients through his writing, events and media to focus on why they started their investment journey, and not to solely concentrate on exactly what their investments are doing at any given moment. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Purdue University, reflecting his fascination in the lessons from the past and how they inform the modern day. After kick-starting his career in the back office of trading firms, Mike earned his MBA from the University of Chicago. In 2007, he was recruited by Baird to serve as an Equity Sales Trader. Wanting to inform overseas clients of what happened in the markets while they slept, Mike began writing a daily email to international clients in 2010. Three years later, he started posting it online under the Bull and Baird name. As a member of Generation X, Mike straddles the gap between Baby Boomers and Millennials, speaking to how history affects what Baby Boomers are concerned about, while also relating to the modern financial era for Millennials. When discussing the market, he encourages clients to look at the historical parallels that we can learn from, reminding clients that fear has always been present; the things they are fearing now have been feared for a long time.
