I officially began my presidency on June 30, 2025 - just one day before the close of the year reflected in this report. Even in that short time, I have already seen remarkable examples of the generosity, pride and commitment of the Aggie community that make a real difference in the lives of our students.
Cameron has long been a place where students find opportunity, support, and the confidence to pursue their goals. During the 2024–2025 year, your support strengthened our academic programs, advanced studentcentered initiatives, and helped move Cameron forward in meaningful ways. The impact of your generosity can be seen throughout this report, but even more importantly, it can be seen in the lives of the students you help every day.
Looking ahead, one of my highest priorities is ensuring that every student has the financial support needed to pursue a degree. Expanding scholarship support is essential to removing barriers and strengthening enrollment In that spirit, I will be personally endowing a scholarship in the coming year to support students who, like me, are the first in their families to attend college. This commitment reflects my belief that Cameron must continue opening doors and changing lives.
As we develop our new Strategic Plan I am confident that we can accomplish amazing things together. Through increased fundraising, strong partnerships, and an unwavering focus on student success, we will position Cameron University as the institution of choice in Southwest Oklahoma and beyond.
Thank you for your continued support and belief in Cameron University. Go Aggies!
Sincerely,
Dr. C. Shane Hunt University President
Dear Friends of Cameron University,
It is an honor to serve the Cameron University Foundation and to witness firsthand the profound impact that philanthropy has on our students and our institution. Each year, I am reminded that the strength of Cameron University is built on the generosity, partnership, and belief of individuals who understand the lifechanging power of education. Your continued support ensures that Cameron remains a place where opportunity is created and futures are shaped.
This past year was marked by meaningful progress and renewed momentum. Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation raised more than $1.8 million in private gifts and grants. These investments open doors for students across Southwest Oklahoma, providing the resources and encouragement they need to pursue their academic goals and build promising careers. The effects of your support extend well beyond our campus, strengthening families, communities, and the regional workforce.
We also experienced significant advancement across several key Foundation initiatives. The President’s Partners program welcomed 11 new members this year, reflecting growing engagement and commitment among individuals, legacy partners, and corporate supporters. Endowment development reached an important milestone as seven new endowed funds were established, each representing a long-term investment in scholarships, academic excellence, and student success.
Across campus, progress continued on major academic and engagement spaces. The engineering laboratory in the CETES Building is nearing completion and will soon provide students with updated, hands-on learning opportunities essential to STEM education. In addition, the Foundation has begun the renovation of the Sanner Alumni Center This project will transform the building into a welcoming, purposeful space designed to strengthen relationships between current students and Cameron alumni.
This year also marked an important chapter in Cameron University’s history with the hiring of a new president. We look forward to supporting the university through this transition and working collaboratively to advance Cameron’s mission and vision for the future.
As we look ahead, I remain grateful for the opportunity to serve and for the privilege of working alongside individuals who are dedicated to the success of Cameron University and its students. Your generosity, engagement, and belief in our purpose continue to inspire me, and I look forward to building on this year’s accomplishments together.
Thank you for your steadfast support and for the vital role you play in shaping the future of Cameron University.
Sincerely, Jennifer
Meason

IMPACT OF FUNDRAISING AND PARTNERSHIPS
MCMAHON FOUNDATION
Renovation work was underway during fiscal year 2025 on Cameron University’s first dedicated engineering laboratory, made possible by a generous gift from the McMahon Foundation. The project involves transforming an existing facility to create a modern, hands-on learning environment for students in [insert specific disciplines]. Once complete, the laboratory will allow students to apply theory to practice, conduct experiments, and collaborate on projects that mirror professional industry environments. The renovated space will also support innovative research and problem-solving across multiple engineering fields.
The McMahon Foundation’s support extends beyond infrastructure. The Foundation continues to fund scholarships that directly benefit students, helping them access higher education and achieve academic success. During this fiscal year, 141 students received scholarships from these funds, assisting with tuition and related expenses while allowing them to focus on their academic and professional development. These opportunities help students build confidence, refine technical skills, and prepare for leadership roles in STEM fields.
The renovated engineering laboratory and ongoing scholarship support demonstrate the McMahon Foundation’s commitment to advancing STEM education, supporting workforce development, and enhancing the student experience. The facility is expected to become a cornerstone of Cameron University’s engineering programs, providing a platform for faculty-student collaboration, industry partnerships, and community engagement. Together, these initiatives are preparing students for successful careers and ensuring the university continues to meet the evolving demands of technology and engineering industries.
COTTON ELECTRIC – WINNER OF THE BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP EXCELLENCE AWARD FROM OKLAHOMA STATE REGENTS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION
Cameron University is proud to partner with Cotton Electric Cooperative, a collaboration that has flourished for nearly 30 years and continues to grow stronger. This longstanding partnership supports numerous programs at Cameron University, demonstrating Cotton Electric’s commitment to higher education and community engagement. Both organizations are dedicated to identifying and creating new opportunities that better prepare Cameron students for success in the workforce. Cameron University is deeply appreciative of the continued partnership with Cotton Electric Cooperative, which provides invaluable resources, mentorship, and opportunities for today’s professionals. Serving rural southwest Oklahoma, Cotton Electric provides reliable electric service across eight counties.
In addition to financial support, Cotton Electric employs eleven Cameron alumni and currently has four employees who are also students at the university, underscoring the symbiotic relationship between the two institutions. Recently, Cotton Electric expanded its partnership by offering internship opportunities for Cameron students in fields such as Information Technology at their Walters headquarters, further enhancing students’ practical experience and professional development.
Cameron University alumna Jennifer Meason, who serves as the President and CEO of Cotton Electric, also plays a pivotal role as Chair of the Cameron University Foundation. In this capacity, she brings invaluable leadership and opportunities for students through the foundation, fostering stronger ties between the university and the community.
(left to right) Dennis Casey, former chair, OSRHE; Jennifer Meason, CEO Cotton Electric Cooperative; Chancellor Sean Burrage; then-CU Interim President Jari Askins; and Regent Stephen W. Taylor celebrate the partnership between Cotton Electric Cooperative and Cameron University.
In addition to being members of President’s Partners, they established the Todd and Cindy Sanner Endowed Lectureship in Chemistry in 2006.
In announcing the gift, Askins said, “I have witnessed Todd and Cindy’s unwavering commitment to our university and the community. They are a remarkable couple, consistently working behind the scenes to support initiatives that benefit Cameron University. Their pride in being Cameron alumni is not just evident; it’s inspiring. They embody the spirit of giving back and investing in future generations.”
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1983, Todd went to work as a chemist. In 1991 he co-founded Esses, Inc., a specialty chemical company offering prescriptive chemical solutions to the pressure pumping segment of the petroleum industry. In 2001, Todd sold Esses to Chemical and Equipment Specialties, Inc, (CESI) which later that year reverse merged with Flotek Industries, Inc., a company currently listed on the NYSE. Todd served as President of CESI and the Chemical and Logistics division of Flotek until his retirement. “After completing his studies, Todd put his degree to excellent use by running a successful company that continues to thrive today,” Askins said. “He has demonstrated that a Cameron education opens doors and creates opportunities, and his journey is a testament to that.”
A former vice president/mortgage lending officer at a banking institution, Cindy Sanner graduated from CU with an Associate in Science degree in interdisciplinary studies in 1989. Since then, she was often reflected on her time living on campus, citing the invaluable connections she formed with her roommates. Late-night study sessions, shared meals in the dining hall and participation in various campus events enriched her college experience in ways that have left a lasting impression.
“It is this sense of community that she cherishes and which has fueled her desire to give back to the university that played such a pivotal role in her life,” Askins said. “The establishment of the Sanner Alumni Center will provide our alumni with a special place on campus – a true home where they can gather, connect, and collaborate. This center is more than just a building; it represents a hub for our alumni community, fostering relationships that will last a lifetime. It will serve as a venue for events, networking opportunities, and a space for alumni to engage with current students, sharing their experiences and insights.”
BE NAMED FOR DONORS TODD AND CINDY SANNER
CAMERON UNIVERSITY ALUMNI CENTER TO
In the coming year, Cameron University graduates will have a facility devoted to alumni activities on the Lawton campus, thanks to a major gift from alumni Todd and Cindy Sanner. The funds, along with a donation from alumnus Ed Goeas, will provide for the renovation of the current Cameron Exchange. The facility will be named The Sanner Alumni Center once renovations are complete. The naming of the building in honor of the Sanners was approved this week by the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University Board of Regents.
The gifts were acknowledged during an appreciation ceremony in early November. During that event, Barbara Braught, chair of the Cameron University Foundation Board of Directors, and Wayne Andrews, vice president of the Cameron University Alumni Association Board of Directors, joined CU President Jari Askins in expressing their gratitude for the donations made by the Sanners and Goeas. The ceremony was held in what is now the Sanner Alumni Center.
The revitalized building will evolve from a seldom-used space into a vibrant hub of connectivity, providing a venue for events that foster ongoing relationships among alumni and facilitate meaningful engagement with current students, preparing them to navigate the transition to graduation.
