Congratulations! Sorors!
Scholarship, Leadership, and Character (SLC) are the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority principles which lead me to choose it as my sisterhood. To establish a chapter in my hometown and to watch these principles be a part of this chapter's growth is memorable indeed. Keep this vision and determination alive
All of my love, Agnes W. Jones
Greetings My Sorors,
I, Charter member, Soror Peggy Wiggins Taylor extend Congratulations to you on your/our "60th" CharterVersary!
I am soooo proud of your continued success. I have followed you throughout the years, and you have truly made me smile!
I am now residing in Florida, with my daughter Roslyn, who also was made through GNCAC. Little did I know back in 1960 when the 14 other TICS and I gathered to organize this chapter in Greenville, Pitt County, NC, that it would bloom and shine as you have done. I am very proud of you Greenville (NC) Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.! Continue doing all the good you do. I congratulate YOU my dear sisters for a job well done
All of my love, Peggy Leigh Wiggins Taylor
Good evening, Sorors of the Greenville (NC) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and distinguished Regional Director, Soror Pamela Murphy Lewis. First, let me thank my Sorors for the honor of being invited as a special guest to help celebrate your 60th Charterversary. Although I am unable to attend in person, I will certainly be with you in spirit.
I became a charter member of the Delta Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 1953 at Elizabeth City State Teachers College (now Elizabeth City State University). I was drawn to the sorority by a desire to connect with others who shared my interest – to be involved in campus life, contribute to community service, and build lifelong sisterhood. My time in Delta helped me grow as a leader and encouraged others to see that service, scholarship, and sisterhood could also be joyful.
When I relocated to Greenville, NC, I again looked to Delta to find new connections. My first friend in the city was Julia Davis, who would soon become my Soror.
One of my most memorable moments was in 1965, when I joined 14 incredible women to charter the Greenville (NC) Alumnae Chapter. That mission – to serve, to lead, and to uplift – has had a lasting impact on my life. Being part of the distinguished group helped my family and me feel at home in our new community, and I was proud to contribute to the chapter’s early successes. Though I have not been as active in the past several years, I have continued to support the chapter financially whenever I could. I remain deeply proud of the chapter’s accomplishments and the extraordinary growth you’ve achieved.
To the current members: I challenge you to keep pushing forward. Remain responsive to the needs of the community. Inspire and engage our youth through cultural and service programs. Keep focus on the future – because there is still a lot to be done, and you are leading the way
God bless you all, Lois Reddrick

Sixty years ago, with great fortitude, commitment and insight 15 strong, Christian, educated black women had a desire to unite. They had a passion for sisterhood, but they put God first. They were intellectually gifted and always well-versed.
Yes, the Charter members of GNC Alumnae were leaders with integrity and in 1965 our Treasured Elite began our blessed Sorority.
Soror Jean Darden was elected the first president, she had a love for her community and was a Greenville Resident
Sorors Clark, Daniels, Davis, Dickens and Dowdy, with dignity and tact Were service-oriented and made a positive impact
Sorors Forbes, Graves, Hagans, Waters Jones and Annie Jones, always stood tall, Were empowered and dedicated, wanted truth and justice for all
Sorors Staton, Lee, Reddrick and Taylor stood with the others side by side Their strength was undeniable, impossible to hide.
Their focus on the five-point thrust, Education was one Their work in this area was second to none.
Economic development and social change, much work to be done They wanted to conquer strife; they sought a better life for everyone!
International and Political Awareness, Physical and Mental Health
Our Charter members worked to improve status and wealth
So as we reflect upon our Great Charter Sorors, their great work impossible to measure in Delta we will forever treasure
ed Elite) set the example, we must never decline Greenville (NC) Alumnae will continue to shine.
