M O N DAY, M AY 1 8 , 2 0 2 6 Las Vegas Sun celebrated its ninth annual Sun Standout Awards at South Point Hotel & Casino. Presented by Zero Teen Fatalities, The A’s and Las Vegas Aviators, the event honored outstanding student-athletes, coaches, memorable moments and more across 15 award categories. Before the awards, Las Vegas Sun Assistant Sports Editor, Case Keefer interviewed a selection of finalists in the green room. As other finalists and guests arrived, they were treated to an appetizer buffet and enjoyed a photo booth sponsored by Zero Teen Fatalities. All finalist received medals sponsored by Nevada Gold Mines, Las Vegas Sun Standout Award t-shirts sponsored by Las Vegas Raiders and framed photos sponsored by the A’s and the Las Vegas Aviators. Each winner received a trophy sponsored by UFC. Las Vegas Sun Managing Editor, Ray Brewer hosted the program introducing all finalists and announcing each winner. During the show Scholar Athletes of the Year, Angelina Carrillo and Tyrus Worley, were each surprised with a $2,500 scholarship from Vegas Golden Knights, Henderson Silver Knights and Vegas Night Hawks. The Hank Greenspun Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Pam Sloan for her exceptional work and impact. The evening ended on a high note with mascots Raider Rusher, Lucky, Cherry Bear, Bucket$, Spruce the Goose and Aviator releasing inflatable sport balls into the crowd.

Congratulations on being a f inalist for the Sun Standout Awards! The show is 7 p.m. Monday, May 18 at the South Point Showroom, 9777 S. Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, 89183. You probably have questions. We have answers: HOW DO I GET TICKETS? The event is f ree and tickets can be booked online at lasvegassun.com/SunStandoutAwards26. Each f inalist can bring up to three family members and/or supporters. The show is invitation only for family and supporters. WHAT DO I WEAR? Please dress in formal attire. WHEN TO ARRIVE? Finalists and their families will be allowed into the venue starting at 6 p.m. You must be on location by 6 p.m. It’s imperative that you sit in the assigned seat near the stage because the order of the show’s production is based on the seating layout. WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE THE SHOW? Finalists will be able to take pictures on the red carpet when entering the showroom. More picture opportunities are available inside with a photo booth. We’ll have interviews with f inalists in the Green Room blasted throughout the showroom.
