For the best America250 celebration in the country, the Las Vegas Strip simply cannot be beat
This year’s America250 celebrations promise memorable events across the entire country, but of course, Las Vegas plans on beating them all.
The city will be celebrating America250 with four Saturdays of eight-minute rotating fireworks displays until July 25, all starting at 9 p.m. Obviously, the biggest single display will be July 4, with nine Strip rooftops firing off at once—Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, The Venetian Resort, MGM Grand, Aria, Planet Hollywood, Resorts World Las Vegas, Fontainebleau Las Vegas and The STRAT—synchronized to music on local radio stations KOMP 92.3 FM, 97.1 FM The Point and 98.9 Hank FM!
The rest of the month’s schedule is as follows:
July 11—Fireworks launch from MGM Grand, Aria and Planet Hollywood (best viewing areas are the bridges and plazas around Park MGM, Aria and T-Mobile Arena).
July 18—Fireworks launch from Resorts World Las Vegas, Fontainebleau Las Vegas and The STRAT (best viewing areas are the sidewalks between Resorts World Las Vegas and SAHARA Las Vegas).

So Many Choices!
Celebrity chef’s outpost redefines the classic creation
Is there any culinary mountain Gordon Ramsay can’t summit? He’s made his mark in almost all facets of the industry, from television and books to eponymous restaurants all over Las Vegas. His empire here now stands at seven, his most recent achievement being Gordon Ramsay Burger at Flamingo. Of all his venues across the Strip, this might the most pure fun experience he has yet created. Obviously fans of burgers are going to enjoy it, but Ramsay has been careful to open up the menu to palates of every type, ensuring that this is appealing to absolutely everyone.
The burger menu itself is impressive, almost imposing in its variety. There is—as you would expect—a Hell’s Kitchen Burger, a beef patty piled high with asadero cheese, roasted jalapeños, avocado, roasted tomatoes and jalapeño aioli. This one has bite! For a true flavor bomb, order the Southwest Burger, an asada-marinated beef patty topped with asadero cheese, cilantro, avocado, citrus aioli and butter lettuce. If you’ve never tried a fried egg on a burger (and trust us, you need to!), order the Farmhouse Burger, featuring Dubliner cheese, bacon and a fried egg. All sandwiches
come with fries, but you can substitute truffle Parmesan fries or onion rings. (For a real indulgence, you can also substitute your patty with 10 ounces of wagyu beef.)
And yes, if you are vegan, welcome in! Gordon Ramsay Burger features a Viva Vegan Burger, one that even carnivores might want to try. It starts with a spiced plant-based patty on a vegan bun, topped with roasted tomatoes, butter lettuce, avocado and eggless garlic mayo. Yum!
Not feeling a burger right about now? No problem whatsoever. You can also enjoy the Idiot Burger, an incredibly decadent combo of braised short rib, Gruyère, cheddar, roasted mushrooms and spicy tomato chutney. There’s also the Straight Up Dawg, a foot-long hot dog smothered in dill pickles, onions, mustard and ketchup. (If you’re from Chicago, yes, they’ll hold the ketchup for you.)
And get this—you can now get breakfast here! There are plenty of satisfying options, but we have to recommend the Benedict Burger, pictured, featuring a pork patty, hollandaise sauce, Canadian bacon, a fried egg and spinach. –Ken Miller
Flying High
Supergroup’s over-the-top production is still going strong
Few Las Vegas residencies in recent memory have engendered the enthusiasm New Kids On the Block ’s has. The quintet that helped define the boy band genre in the late-’80s has meshed with Vegas like few acts in the city’s entire history. So astounding was the response to the group’s initial run that more shows were announced almost immediately, and The Right Stuff continues to sell out to Blockheads who scream their devotion during each and every show.
But the songs from Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood, Jon Knight, Jordan Knight and Joey McIntyre are only part of the production’s appeal. Yes, all the classics that fans demand are on the setlist, from “Hangin’ Tough” and “Step by Step” to “You Got It (The Right Stuff)” and “I’ll Be Loving You Forever,” but the production is right in keeping with the over-the-top tradition Vegas has become famous for: At one point, each member gets into a telephone booth (great ’80s reference,
show runners!) and gets hoisted up and over the audience.
Don’t be the least bit surprised if the group announces yet another extension soon; with ticket sales soaring—and the group’s clear love for Las Vegas—there should be plenty more flying phone booths to come. –Ken Miller

Let the experts get you started on your gambling adventure
If it’s your first visit to Las Vegas, odds are you’re planning on some gambling while you’re here—including betting on sports. But for those who are new to the activity, you’re in luck! Las Vegas Magazine ’s Ken Miller interviewed two experts on sports betting in Vegas: Mike Palm, vice president of operations for Circa | Sports; and John Murray, vice president of race and sports at Westgate Las Vegas, to help you get the most out of your first experience.
Is there a guideline for gambling responsibly? Should it be a percentage of your entertainment budget?
Mike Palm: Absolutely, it is essential to set a budget. If you planned a trip to Hawaii, you would allocate a certain dollar amount for your hotel, for your meals, for any outings or entertainment. You should in the same way set a gambling budget. It should be just another form of entertainment for the novice player. Set a budget and stick to it.
John Murray: I would say that varies from person to person. I don’t think you can assign an exact percentage to it, but it should always be something you are OK with losing. Same as any investment.
What are the easiest bets to place, and what are some examples of this?
Palm: A simple bet to place is how many points will be scored in a particular game. For example, the first game
of the NFL regular season was the Dallas Cowboys at the Philadelphia Eagles. The “total” on that game was 46.5 points. The “under” bet is a winner if 46 or less points are scored. The “over” bet is a winner if 47 or more points are scored.
Murray: Straight bets are the easiest to place and the easiest to understand. Let’s say you want to bet the Cowboys Week One against the Eagles. The Cowboys are +7. Think of it like adding 7 points to the Cowboys score when the game is over. If the Cowboys win or lose by 6 or less, you’re a winner. If the Eagles win by more than 7, you lose. And if the Eagles win by exactly 7 points, you get your money back.
What’s a good way to place a bet?
Palm: There are two ways to place a bet. One is at the counter of a sportsbook. The other way is to go to a sportsbook, sign up for a mobile wagering account, deposit money into your account, and place your bet on your mobile device.
Murray: I think placing the wagers on the phone is the easiest, but you always have the option of coming up to the race and sports book window and placing your wager(s) with a teller. Some people may be more comfortable with that, and they should feel free to ask questions if there’s anything they aren’t fully clear about.
How can you enjoy yourself while watching your wager play out?
Palm: Being among a crowd of people
rooting on the game at a sportsbook here in Las Vegas is definitely an exciting and memorable experience.
Murray: The SuperBook at the Westgate Las Vegas is the best venue in the country to bet and watch games at, but with the mobile apps these days you can play from anywhere. Your couch. Your bed. Your favorite dive bar. Who am I to judge?
There are thousands of wagering apps out there. Are there any particular apps you recommend?
Palm: Each app, like each sportsbook, has its strengths. As a novice bettor, the ease of getting money in and out (depositing and withdrawing) is likely most important. Of course, I would recommend that everyone look at the Circa Sport(s) mobile app.
Murray: Of course. The SuperBook mobile app. We were voted best in Las Vegas in 2025.
Does it matter what property you bet at?
Palm: The rewards program for sports wagers varies from company to company. You can get information on how your sports wagers are rated from each sportsbook. Some sportsbooks have a bigger menu of bets. Others may have a lower take-out percentage. There are also experiential differences from property to property. Maybe the customer is looking for a great culinary experience combined with their wagering. Maybe another customer wants an incredible pool experience while they are betting and watching. My advice is to shop around.
Murray: I do believe Westgate Las Vegas has the best venue for watching games in the city, but you can place your wagers with the SuperBook app from any property as long as you are in the state of Nevada.

It’s hot out there, and besides swilling icecold beer and running from air-conditioned place to air-conditioned place, what can you do? Eat ice cream, of course!
At Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer in The Venetian Resort, the popular CrazyShakes have been joined by CrazySundaes, which arrived in Vegas after a sweet Singapore debut. These sundaes are huge, with mounds of ice cream, sauces and toppings, including the churro hot fudge sundae, pictured, with Mexican hot fudge, dulce de leche
and crushed Cinnamon Toast Crunch. On top are churros, cinnamon sugar cookies, whipped cream and a cherry. Or try the Cherry Bomb, which sports vanilla ice cream, sour cherry sauce, granola crunch and pie crumble plus pieces of cherry pie and whipped cream. The strawberry glazed sundae includes vanilla ice cream, strawberry sauce and strawberry cake pieces, as well as an entire glazed doughnut, strawberries and whipped cream.

town Sports Kitchen. The sweet treat includes traditional vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, pineapple, hot fudge and maraschinos, but kicks it up with M&Ms, coconut and candy money with Fieri’s face to give it a little extra.
Smaller sizes (relatively speaking) can be had at the Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop at New York-New York. Try the Ocean Beach sea salt caramel sundae, or the ultra-traditional banana split with cherry, chocolate and pineapple sauce—my favorite! –Nina King

Resort’s series offers fireworks viewing, concerts and much more
For a truly memorable Fourth of July celebration on the Las Vegas Strip, as well as a party atmosphere all month long, head to Resorts World Las Vegas, where rooftop viewing parties, concert and more are the order of the day.
Boots, Beats & Skyline Views: A Country-Disco Fourth of July Fireworks Party gets under way at 7 p.m. July 4 at Rose Rooftop, where guests are encouraged to don those cowboy boots, fringe and sparkle and line dance to beats by DJ Ashley Hall. Then at 9 p.m., they’ll enjoy fireworks from one of the best vantage points on the entire Strip.
Following the spectacular show, guests head to Zouk Nightclub for a live performance by Nate Smith. Tickets are $25 apiece, but anyone who dines at Resorts World Las Vegas signature restaurants (Stubborn Seed, Kusa Nori, Aqua, Genting Palace, FUHU, Crossroads Kitchen and Brezza) will receive complimentary admission to the evening’s activities!

Iconic property adds a dayclub to its stellar nightclub experience
For years, Omnia Nightclub has done partying right, with world-renowned DJs, top tech in audio-visuals and otherworldly design and decor all combining to offer a next-level nightlife experience. Well, Tao Group Hospitality one-ups the game with the introduction of the nightclub’s counterpart, Omnia Dayclub. Opened this season, the 46,000-square-foot party spot is connected to the nightclub by a dedicated bridge, giving off vibes of crossing over to a far-away, upscale, beachy locale.
“The moment you walk in and see the full scope of it—the pools, the Strip views, the stage—it just hits different than anything else out there,” says Jason Strauss, co-CEO of Tao Group Hospitality. “We designed it so that every seat in the house feels like the best seat.”

General manager of hot pot hot spot reminisces on career
Life has comes full circle for Luqi Xu, general manager for the newly opened Copper Sun at Resorts World Las Vegas.
As he grew up in China, one of Xu’s favorite restaurants was Happy Lamb, a hot pot brand with more than 700 restaurants spread across the country. Last year, the brand made its debut in Las Vegas with Copper Sun, its first-ever fine-dining concept, and Xu is running the restaurant. “It’s like a circle,” he says. “I never thought one day I’d be working at one of my favorite childhood restaurants.”
Xu brings many years of experience to running Copper Sun. He started working in restaurants long ago in L.A., where his parents owned a Chinese dumpling restaurant. When his family moved to Las Vegas in 2011, he began a career on the Strip, first as a busser at properties like SAHARA Las Vegas and Wynn. After lots of hard work and a goal of running restaurants, he moved into a management role at X Pot at The Venetian Resort.
“I love to guide guests through our experience,” Xu says. “I love to see the

For more than 40 years, The Steak House at Circus Circus has been the go-to for generations of tourists and locals alike. And that’s because its customers always know what they’re getting: seriously great food, a menu that keeps things more or less the same year in and year out, service that makes you feel special, and an old-school ambience you really can’t find anywhere else on the Strip. This is the sort of restaurant where it’s not uncommon on any given night to see at least an anniversary or birthday celebrated. It’s just that special.
As you’re escorted to your table or leather booth, you’ll immediately be struck by two things: a dry-aging locker with floor-to-ceiling windows that allows you to check out all the cuts you’re about to choose from, and a food preparation area smack-
dab in the middle of the restaurant. Before your meal arrives, be sure to order a cocktail to prepare you for the deliciousness to come. All the classics are here to enjoy, from Old-Fashioneds and Manhattans to dirty martinis, but vodka lovers will want to try the Lemon Drop, made with Absolut Citron, triple sec and lemon juice.
Start your meal with any of the splendid appetizers, from the French onion soup and deeply flavorful grilled garlic shrimp and sautéed mushrooms to oysters on the half shell or the massive Seafood Sensation, a tower of oysters, crab and shrimp that’s practically a meal by itself! Salads here are all fresh and satisfying. The

If you’re a horror-loving kid of a certain age, you remember exactly when The Exorcist broke your brain. For me, it started with the novel. As a preteen, I was fully aware I shouldn’t be reading it, which of course meant I simply had
to read it late at night under the covers. Then came the movie. Then came weeks of very bad sleep and a mild, lasting suspicion of staircases. So when I tell you that The Exorcist: Believer is one of four haunted houses at Uni-
versal Horror Unleashed—a year-round horrorfest 10 minutes from the Strip—you’ll understand the thrill and terror this gives me. Opened at AREA15 in 2025 by the team behind Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Horror spans 110,000 square feet of film-level sets and professional scare actors.
“For us, to give our guests this opportunity to have horror

This Independence Day, eat up Vegas’ American favorites

While many folks consider fireworks to be the highlight of the Fourth of July (and they are, especially on this 250th birthday), others can’t wait to get together for the annual barbecue. That all-American food frenzy gets an upgrade here in Vegas, with some of the best burgers, dawgs, barbecue and beer around, many with a gourmet twist.
More than a few restaurants in Las Vegas serve up rocking burgers, and some of our favorites include the HOB Smash Burger at House of Blues Restaurant & Bar at Mandalay Bay, a chunky handful with American cheese, double patties, and all the classic fixings. For a challenge with your burger, the Do It In Public Challenge at Public House at Luxor will give you four double cheeseburgers for free if you can eat all of them, a loaded fries and a 22-ounce milkshake in just 30 minutes. Easier said than done, right? The menu also has a strong disclaimer: “Participation in the Public Challenge is voluntary and at your own risk.” So you’ve been warned. Vegans can get in on the burgers at Gordon Ramsay Burger in Planet Hollywood with a plant-basted patty, roasted tomatoes, eggless mayo and avocado.
Public House also has a good ribs platter, either a half or full rack, slathered with sauce and served with coleslaw and a boatload of fries. In

If you want hot dogs, the Haute Doggery, also in The Linq Promenade, has tons of offerings in a casual space. Back at Gordon Ramsay Burger at Planet Hollywood, enjoy the Straight Up Dog, a footlong classic with dill pickle, onion, mustard and ketchup. Resorts World Las Vegas’ Dawg House Saloon & Sports Book is aptly named— some of the fun items you can get here include the Aloha Dawg, with bacon pineapple relish, scallions and Dijon, and the Turbo Dawg with chili, queso and red onions.
And I didn’t forget about the beer! While you can get a good brew almost anywhere, head into The Venetian Resort to Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer for some excellent sips from local breweries. For a bit more choice, check out AmeriCAN Beer and Cocktails at Treasure Island, where you’ll find cans and draft options from breweries all over the country, like Deschutes, Pizza Port, and Belching Beaver. And if you can’t decide on one beer, get a flight from TAP Sports Bar at Excalibur. (Tip: If you’re dining here and have kids, one kid can eat free for each adult entrée ordered).

When something lasts a long time in Las Vegas, there’s good reason. In a city full of entertainment and dining options, becoming an institution means providing guests from all walks of life an exemplary experience that leaves them with a sense of satisfaction.
Gospel Brunch at House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay is one such institution. Since its inception more than two decades ago, the all-you-can-eat buffet and live entertainment experience has been uplifting local artists and filling bellies with delicious food.
Though the word “gospel” refers to the teachings of Christ and the content of the show comes from the Christian faith, it’s important to know this is not an exclusionary event. Host Patti Pennington and a rotating cast of choir singers, quartet singers, soloists and instrumentalists seek to uplift anyone who joins for the morning gathering.
“He’s a universal god. We don’t put Him in this box, which makes Him be presented to everybody, whomever they chose to (worship), whether it’s Allah, whether it’s Catholic, whether it’s

whoever,” says Pennington. “The good thing about our music and His music is it is universal. Everybody can relate to hallelujah, salvation and glory … And then the excitement that we bring in the show—we make you dance and laugh. So, it’s not just straight church.”
The truth in Pennington’s words is incredibly apparent the moment guests step foot in the venue, as there’s a welcoming sense of community and curiosity that fills the room almost as much as the irresistible scents of bacon and maple syrup. Then, when talented performers begin to belt spirited serenades from the stage, the impulse to join the revelry is undeniable.
“Music is medicine, music is life … So many people, especially nowadays, are going through so much. So their soul is yearning for maybe a song or maybe some words to inspire them, encourage them, or prepare what they want to say,
but they don’t have the exact words,” Pennington says. “That’s why I always say it feeds your soul, because whatever you’re yearning for, if you came there depleted, you’re going to leave so full. It’s full of joy, full of laughter, full of abundance, full of love.”
While Pennington and her crew feed souls, the House of Blues kitchen staff is hard at work feeding grateful patrons. Find an irresistible array of creole-inspired bites like jambalaya and chicken and waffles offered alongside breakfast classics like omelets and biscuits and gravy.
“I’ve had waffles before, but there’s something about the way they cook the waffles. It’s so amazing, they have a buttery taste,” Pennington says. “And the bacon … I don’t know where or how they cook this bacon, but (it must be) a certain way they cook it because it’s so freaking good.”
