This all-vegan Las Vegas Strip restaurant excels in both the variety and deliciousness of its dishes

The words “vegan cuisine” used to produce a less-than-favorable facial expression, but those days are long gone. Even the most hardened carnivores have come around to how delicious Impossible products are, and more and more restaurants are opening up their menus to the variety vegan options offer. But only one sit-down restaurant on the Vegas Strip is exclusively vegan, and that’s Crossroads Kitchen, Tal Ronnen’s mega-popular destination for diners of all stripes.

The sheer variety here is pretty dizzying, but it’s all fantastic, from the sweet pea arancini appetizer with preserved lemon aioli and Parmesan cheese to mains like eggplant filet with mashed potatoes and mushroom bordelaise. There’s also an entire nut-free menu for those with allergies! Here you’ll find delights like truffle mushroom bianca pizza (and you can add fresh truffles) and delta asparagus and sugar snap peas with horseradish sabayon, radish and pea tendrils.

A real highlight here is the restaurant’s tasting menu. Choose between a five- and seven-course experience that takes you through everything Ronnen does best. We definitely recommend the latter for $175 per person, in which you get to enjoy chilled asparagus soup with

lemon oil; grilled artichokes with roasted peppers, olives, capers, lemon and mint; stuffed zucchini blossoms with almond ricotta cheese and marinara; grilled maitake mushrooms with tamarind glaze, lime and chives; spring agnolotti with fresh truffles, lemon broth and scallion oil; grilled lion’s mane steak with truffle potatoes and mushroom bordelaise; and a chef-selected dessert. (Good news: They’re all awesome!)

You’re certain to want to check out happy hour here, as the prices are definitely right. From 4-5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday (at the bar and lounge only), enjoy treats like caviar and chips, Impossible cigars with spicy almond milk yogurt, stuffed zucchini blossoms, calamari fritti with diablo sauce and lemon and Caesar salad with your choice of kale or romaine, garlic focaccia croutons and dressing—each for only $10! The same price is applied to all drinks, from specialty cocktails like the Sweet Leaf (with your choice of vodka or gin, chareau and cucumber syrup) and No Aloha (made with toasted pineapple tequila, cinnamon syrup and aquafaba) to wines and beers. New nightlife concept at AREA15 is a whole lot of fun

Nightclubs have long been one of the only draws to nighttime adventures in Las Vegas. Well, no disrespect to some of the best nightclubs in the world, but there’s a new player in town, Oddyssey Manor

If you’ve been to a nightclub in Vegas, yes, you’re immersed in booming sounds, crowds, lasers, lights and confetti showers, but immersive really gets kicked up a notch at this AREA15 experience.

The space is like a maze through curated rooms that give off vibes and decor reminiscent of Prohibition-era Shanghai and New York City as well as old-school nautical, boudoir and bar scenes. Every turn around a corner reveals a new adventure, and guiding guests through the experience is a cast of characters that includes burlesque dancers, singers, aerialists and actors. The 90-minute experience includes stops along the way to enjoy specialty cocktails. There are four ticket levels that dictate how many cocktails and cocktail sizes that the guest receives.

New to Oddyssey Manor is the Ultimate Party Guest package, which includes not only five specialty cocktails but four curated dishes. This experience plays out as if guests are at the home of enigmatic couple Felix and Penelope, and it’s time to

celebrate Felix’s birthday—a party experience no guest will ever forget. The Oddyssey Manor experience and the Ultimate Party Guest package run Thursday through Sunday, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

But wait, there’s more! On Friday and Saturday nights, beginning at 10:30 p.m., Oddyssey Manor turns the party up to full blast with Oddyssey Noir, a late-night experience that opens the space for dancing and breaks down the fourth wall with the cast of players at Oddyssey Manor. Popular underground DJs will provide the sounds and dancefloors will pop up where breakdancers and cabaret performers will join guests to get on down. The Noir nights go late into the evening (hello almost sunrise!), so get ready to boogie till you break.

A Grand Rebranding

Entrepreneur launches her first Strip hotel

Lisa Vanderpump has done nothing but create successful Vegas venue after successful Vegas venue, and she looks to continue that streak with the opening of The Vanderpump Hotel on Strip, a boutique experience that’s looking to rewrite the rules as to what a Vegas hotel can be.

Now accepting reservations, The Vanderpump Hotel (previously The Cromwell) is overflowing with the entrepreneur’s signature style, from its 188 guest rooms and suites to the hotel reception and check-in area, the gaming floor and an

all-new lounge. The custom furnishings and lighting fixtures were created by Vanderpump and business partner Nick Alain’s design line, Vanderpump Alain.

“Taking the next step from restaurateur to hotelier and partnering once again with Caesars Entertainment on another extraordinary project has been such an exciting chapter for me,” Vanderpump said in a statement. “Our vision was to create a room that feels like a true retreat, a calming escape just steps from the energy and excitement of the casino floor.

The guest rooms are as beautiful as they are serene.”

The hotel also features a new pool club, Soleia, 11 stories above the Strip featuring cabanas, lounge seating, cocktails, snacks and more. offers unique dishes that reflect second annual contest between the coasts

In honor of National BBQ Month, Virgil’s Real Barbecue has returned with its second annual East Coast vs. West Coast BBQ Challenge, a contest between the Virgil’s in New York City’s Times Square and The Linq Promenade that is under way and already heated. What does it mean for diners? Some new, delicious offerings!

Defending his title is Las Vegas pitmaster Rahman Savage. He’s going against Times Square pitmaster Michael Conlon, and the showdown will culminate in a rib-off competition to crown the ultimate barbecue champion.

In the meantime, help yourself to some original dishes at the Vegas Virgil’s. The competition is separated into weeklong segments, with each week adding a specially created dish to reflect that week’s theme.

Dishes, which are all still available, include:

• Smoked brisket shawarma and lemon pepper fries ($30) represents week one of the competition, “Global BBQ” (May 4-10), in which the pitmasters represent their coast through an international barbecue influence. This dish features Texas-style smoked brisket tossed in shawarma spices and citrus, served up in warm flatbread with tomato, roasted garlic aioli, pickled red onions and pomegranate molasses.

• WhistlePig peach-BBQ glazed spare ribs ($43), pictured, represent week two of the competition, “BBQ & Booze” (May 11-17), a collaboration between the kitchen and bar and featuring a barbecue dish and cocktail built around shared key ingredients. This menu offering features slowsmoked spare ribs smothered with the WhistlePig glaze and paired with crispy roasted red potatoes and a charred corn relish.

• Shotgun shells ($19) represent week three, “Spaghetti Western” (May 18-24), a crossover with sister restaurant Carmine’s at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, blending Italian comfort food with classic barbecue techniques. This dish features manicotti filled with meatball stuffing, wrapped in bacon and smoked until tender, all topped with melted Jack cheese.

• Bubba’s smoked rib sando ($29) represents week four, “Phone a Friend” (May 25-31), which is exactly what it sounds like: Pitmasters call up guest collaborators to join their team for the final week of competition. This creation features slow-smoked ribs glazed in house barbecue sauce and finished with pickles and pickled red onions on a toasted hoagie roll. –Ken Miller

Despite hints of retirement, performer is back to rock the Strip

There were many who wondered if Sir Rod Stewart might be finished with performing in Las Vegas. He certainly hinted at it, calling his last dates in 2025 The Encore Shows. But luckily for all of us, the legendary rocker is back for more. To say these upcoming dates might be your last time to see him here is a serious understatement!

Sir Rod certainly has a lot of reasons to return. For starters, he packs the house every time he comes to town; second, he’s considerably adding to a serious

Vegas legacy, as he performed his 200th show on the Strip last year; and third, his career is tailor-made for Vegas, a combination of classic rock songs and a catalog of standards that screams oldschool Vegas (which is absolutely huge right now).

You’re as likely to hear “Maggie May,” “Every Picture Tells a Story” and “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” as you are “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered” and “Moon River.” Stewart has mastered both ends of the aisle to

the point where his fans in the audience reach every imaginable age.

And at 81, Stewart is one of a handful of performers who still muster an energy that gets a crowd into full swing. In addition to making history, Stewart is still bringing the party to Vegas. Be part of it. –Ken Miller

Sweet Strip lounge hosts drag brunch with bottomless mimosas

Make your sleepy Sunday into an experience worthy of more than one Instagram post with the new S Bar Drag Brunch , happening May 31 and June 28. The inaugural brunch features some of the hottest queens around, bottomless mimosas and delicious bites as well.

S Bar is a gorgeous space, sophisticated with an art deco vibe that marries well with the bling that the performers bring. At the inaugural brunch, those included the fabulous RuPaul’s Drag Race alumnus Coco Montrese, flying in from a Mexi-

If you’ve never been to a drag brunch, then here’s how it goes—get in, order mimosas and drinks immediately, and dig out every dollar bill you have scrunched down in your purse or wallet. As the performers pass, lip-synching and moving to energetic songs, wave a few bills and hope they pause in front of you. But don’t hesitate, as the energy propels them quickly (dollar bills rule, but fives and 20s are better!)

The food served during brunch is darned tasty, with items like steak and egg flatbread, brown butter French toast sticks, smoked salmon avocado toast (on Hawaiian rolls!), smoked chorizo deviled eggs Benedict and Nashville chicken and waffles. Take a trek to Vegas suburbia, better known as Henderson, and check out Ethel M Chocolates Factory & Cactus Garden to book one of the Spring Chocolate & Mimosa Tastings from May 24-30 at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 and 5 p.m. The experience includes four specialty chocolates paired with four fruit-flavored mimosas. Who’s seen The Devil Wears Prada 2 ? I know, I won’t bore you with questions (wink, wink), but in honor of the movie’s release, Peacock Alley at Waldorf Astoria recently added The Devil’s Martini to its summer menu. The cocktail is a bold reimagining of the classic martini. This version is a mix of Grey Goose, Sakura vermouth and hibiscus extract with a preserved Japanese baby peach for garnish.

Who’s in town to see the iconic No Doubt residency at Sphere? In honor of the band’s appearance, Juliet Cocktail Room and Electra Cocktail Club, both at The Venetian Resort (walking distance from Sphere), hosts No Doubt-themed parties through June 13. With a name like Bonus Round Totally Awesome Bar + Arcade, a good time is guaranteed! The newly opened space at MGM Grand offers classic arcade games paired with a

menu of specially themed cocktails, canned beers and game-night bites like wings, pretzel bites, sliders, pizza rolls and churro bites. An awesome happy hour called Power Hour from 9-11 p.m. Monday and Thursday is one helluva deal, with unlimited arcade game play and unlimited well drinks and draft beers for just $45 per person!

Try and scope out the speakeasy behind the donut shop at Proper Eats Food Hall at Aria. Easy’s Cocktail Lounge is totally invisible to passersby, but once you gain access, it’s an intimate lounge that drips in chic velvet curtains and club chairs, candlelit ambience and a small stage for live performances. On May 27, enjoy America’s Got Talent season five winner Michael Grimm as he performs a unique blend of Americana, soul and blues. And two special tequila cocktails are being served on that night only, the As Seen on TV and The Viral Espresso Martini.

Another speakeasy, hidden inside Caspian’s Rock & Roe at Caesars Palace, throws a Tuesday bash, Pop Punk Night on May 26, with pop-punk hits and anthems. The evening starts out a lil’ mellow with an acoustic set from Ziggy Zeno and is followed by a smashing, rock-out-loud performance from Kamikaze Sons.

If a more chill night is your speed, head downtown to Doberman Drawing Room , where they serve up some of the most unique, tasty cocktails in the city. The bar recently released a new menu inspired by the fictional worlds created by moviemaker Wes Anderson. The whimsical menu layers ingredients and technique to create one-of-a-kind sips like The Life Aquatic, Isle of Dogs, The Royal Tenenbaums and more. The bartenders walk you through why each cocktail’s flavor matches up with the movie it’s named after—it’s quite the cocktail experience.

Unless you’re snoozing, you’ll find delicious options at Lago in Las Vegas

When you dine at Lago at Bellagio, you are getting more than just your basic dinner options. Along with choices for cocktails, wine,

appetizer, mains, sides and dessert, you have the task of choosing the timing for your meal. The one thing you won’t be choosing is

the beauty of the setting, as floor-to-ceiling windows let you view the serene lake all day long; and when the fountains begin their dance, it’s truly magical. The adjacent patio area makes a perfect place to indulge in breakfast, brunch or dinner. Brunch is offered daily

starting at 9 a.m., with an extensive array of dishes to choose from, including caprese salad with breakfast favorites like steak and eggs, brûlée French toast and ricotta pancakes with blueberries and lemon zest. You can also enjoy entrées like chicken Parmesan (and a chicken Parmesan sandwich with spicy vodka sauce); bucatini and clams; malfadine with nduja and goat cheese; and a wagyu cheeseburger, plus pizzas. And a variety of primarily Italian and French wines by the glass, bottomless mimosas and specialty cocktails make this pleasant meal sublime.

Dinner features some of the same dishes as brunch , but you’ll find many added gems as well. Start with an Old Fashioned smufato (smoked), a drink that many enjoy as the prelude to a

good meal. From the dinner menu, consider items like the seafood tower (it’s just such a classic to start with); beef carpaccio with shaved fennel; eggplant Milanese with San Marzano tomatoes, provolone and herb gremolata; branzino with charred lemon; rack of lamb; prime filet with stone-ground polenta; and a tomahawk with artichoke and grilled asparagus. Cannoli is a go-to for dessert at Italian restaurants, and the deconstructed one here adds opportunities to share.

The popular Italian restaurant recently announced late-night food and cocktail menus that are offered from 10:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the lounge. (No need to dip into a diner, as suitable as that sometimes is.) The hours are perfect for snacks after the concert ends, or even when the

appeal of a nightclub wanes. A few items to consider are focaccia; whipped ricotta; beef carpaccio; hamachi with citron vinegar; and salads like the Lago chop with garbanzo beans, salami, artichokes, olives, and romaine; and caprese and endive with Gorgonzola. And as most late-night snackers

can testify, pizza never goes amiss. Lago’s pizzas include spicy pepperoni, margherita, puttanesca, prosciutto and black truffle. Desserts include the cannoli, chocolate budino and a gelato and sorbetto pizelle—waffle cookies in any form are the best, especially with three scoops of cold sweetness.

For more than 25 years, Fantasy: The Strip’s Sexiest Tease has been the Luxor’s late-night love letter to the Las Vegas showgirl. This year, the show is making the love letter official.

On May 21, the show’s cast was to present the National Day Archives proclamation for National Showgirl Day to the Nevada State Museum. The 10 a.m. ceremony coincided with the unveiling of a refreshed showgirl exhibit at the museum, featuring costumes and images that trace the rhinestone-studded history of one of the city’s most iconic art forms. National Showgirl Day itself falls on May 24.

It’s a fitting handoff. The classic Las Vegas showgirl—6 feet tall in headdress, feathers from shoulder to floor, half a chandelier strapped to her back—is largely a museum piece these days. But the spirit of those productions is very much alive on Strip stages.

numbers that incorporate high-energy choreography, aerial acts, solo performances and burlesque. The “Sexiest Tease” tag is just, well, a tease. The show offers so much more.

What truly sets Fantasy: The Strip’s Sexiest Tease apart from your run-of-the-mill revue is the production values—and the woman behind them. Emmy-winning choreographer

and producer Anita Mann created the show in 1999 and has shepherded it ever since, a hands-on tenure almost unheard of in a town where producers come and go. Mann’s résumé runs from network television variety specials to Las Vegas spectaculars, and her signature is all over this show: the couture-level costumes, the live vocals, the choreography that asks its dancers to train like athletes. There’s a reason it has outlasted nearly every other adult revue to ever open on the Strip. Somebody figured out a long time ago that sexy works better

That’s worth a museum exhibit. It’s also worth a proclamation. National Showgirl Day didn’t exist until last year, when Mann herself petitioned the National Day Archives to put it on the calendar, choosing May 24 to mark the 1955 opening of the Moulin Rouge, the first integrated hotel-casino in Las Vegas and a foundational moment in showgirl history. Chippendales steps up its game with a new theater

As if Vegas needed more heat this summer, the legendary Chippendales has moved into a brandnew, custom-designed home inside Planet Hollywood. And if you haven’t seen this revue in its upgraded digs, what exactly are you waiting for?

After decades of shaking things up at Rio Las Vegas (and, subsequently, The Linq Hotel), the icons of tease now command a stage worthy of their name. This isn’t just a new address, it’s a full-on production glow-up: state-of-theart lighting, jaw-dropping effects, killer sound and choreography so sharp it could slice right through your inhibitions.
