Pool Season Has Arrived
Welcome the warming weather at this Strip property’s adults-only watery escape
While other parts of the country are still under winter weather, in Las Vegas pools are dusting off cabanas, laying out daybeds and lounge chairs and stocking the bars. Yup, pool season is kicking off, and it’s time to make a return to Flamingo’s Go Pool. The long-running pool club received a complete upgrade last summer, and the results are truly stunning.
Stretched across nearly 2 acres, Go Pool offers five distinct pools, including three VIP escapes, a grotto pool hidden behind a 50-foot-wide waterfall and the main pool with a shaded swim-up bar and multiple TVs and a DJ booth that sits atop the grotto. Among the best new features are the various wet decks spread throughout the main pool, where guests can lounge on a daybed or sofa and can easily dip into the cool waters. The three VIP pools offer cabanas with their own dipping pools and a more mellow, upscale vibe; the circular VIP pool is a secluded oasis with a 40-foot round infinity pool and 15-foot waterfall.
Added to the offerings last year was a new cocktail menu with elevated, handcrafted choices in categories like lemony, frozen, zero-proof, skinny, tropical recipes and high-end spirits. Popular choices include the Skinny Spice, a blend of Maestro Dobel Diamante tequila, Chacho jalapeño aguardiente, agave nectar, lime juice, club soda and Tajín; the The G.P.L. (Go Pool Lemonade), made with New Amsterdam raspberry vodka, lemonade and topped with Chambord black raspberry liqueur; and the Pear of Hearts, a delicious combination of Maestro Dobel Diamante tequila, Belle de Brillet pear liqueur, strawberry purée and lime juice. Additional libations on the menu include hard seltzer, spiked and canned beer options and shots.
Pair cocktails with poolside bites like a breakfast burrito, Greek yogurt and granola bowl, loaded fries, street taco trio, Southwest rice bowl, buffalo chicken salad, nachos platter, vegetable crudité with hummus and various sandwich options.
Go Pool has DJs that spin daily, with everything from throwback classics to today’s jams. Admission is complimentary and the main pool offers complimentary lounge chairs, but it’s on a first-come, firstserve basis, so getting in line early is suggested. –Kiko Miyasato

Come and Enjoy a Bit of the Old Country
Longtime favorite restaurant brings customers back with a winning formula of great food and service
Get ready for an unforgettable experience the moment you enter Fresco Italiano. This longtime favorite of locals and tourists alike sets a wonderful tone with brick accents, hardwood floors and towering arches, all overseen by a huge, antique espresso machine. It’s the perfect setting for the comfort foods to come.
You’ll want to start with a cocktail, and Fresco Italiano has plenty of signature libations to get your taste buds primed and ready. We recommend two in particular: The Milan, a white peach Bellini made with Ketel One Botanicals peach orange vodka, white peach and prosecco, all topped with vanilla gelato(!); and the Palermo, a spicy Sicilian margarita made with Patron silver tequila, blood orange, sparkling grapefruit, firewater and Sicilian sea salt.
Now down to business! Appetizers don’t get much more satisfying than the meatballs, a blend of slow-braised beef, pork and veal, all smothered with basil ricotta, Grana Padano and marinara, and the calamari, served with hot peppers, lemon crema, marinara and mint. You’ll definitely also want to try the margherita pizza, an all-time classic with tomato sauce, roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil. Main courses are a cornucopia
of favorites, and you may have a seriously difficult time deciding. Definite highlights include the chicken marsala, so flavorful with roasted mushrooms, cipollini onions, florio marsala and butter whipped potatoes; lasagna al forno (a best-selling menu item) made with pork and beef Bolognese, ricotta, mozzarella and basil; and scaloppine de vitello, veal loin with capers, lemon, parsley and spaghetti.
How about some pasta? We can’t recommend highly enough the linguine and clams (another hot seller) with littleneck clams, garlic, chili, lemon and parsley, or the spicy penne alla vodka, a dish you will not want to share with its combo of Italian sausage, Calabrian chili, basil and Pecorino Romano.
And if you really can’t decide, play it safe and go with the Chef’s Selection, a menu with three courses of: your choice of an Italian chopped Caesars salad or zuppa Toscana; your choice of chicken fettucine Alfredo, chicken Parmesan, rigatoni Bolognese or grilled salmon; and your choice of Biscoff butter cheesecake (this is my particular favorite) or tiramisu. –Ken Miller Westgate
Never-Ending Fun
This Strip hot spot combines childhood memories with adult beverages
Who’s up for some arcade fun? How about if we throw in a bar, a great cocktail menu and a bunch of TVs for sports viewing? Wrap all that up into one beautiful package and you’ve got Cove Bar & Arcade, a 7,367-square-foot escape for those who want to remember their childhood while celebrating their adulthood.
The action just never stops once you walk through the doors. Start with some Skee-Ball to warm up those joints and muscles, then move onto simulators that can accommodate up to eight players.
(Choose from football, golf, soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey and more.)
If you’re still hankering for some sports action, grab up to three other people and try your luck at duckpin bowling, which features shorter and lighter pins, making strikes much more difficult.
For more hands-on fun, there’s a billiards pool table, air hockey, shuffleboard and foosball. Like pinball? The Cove has versions featuring John Wick, Avengers and Godzilla. How about virtual reality? Welcome to King Kong of Skull Island
And if you’re a fan of arcade classics, there’s NBA Hoops and Pac-Man’s Pixel Bash
For the kiddies, there’s a photo booth and an Elaut EClaw claw machine, which should keep them well occupied (guests under 14 must be accompanied by an adult, while you can try your luck on the Fast & Furious race car simulator. Have a blast! –Ken Miller

Coastal Creations
Italian restaurant has something special for every palate
Find comforting, delicious coastal cuisine courtesy of chef Shawn McClain when you stop into Balla Italian Soul . Here, Italian classics meet innovation with a menu that features familiar dishes elevated by their own flair and served in a relaxing, home-like atmosphere.
Veggie enthusiasts must start in the salad section, because the beets and ricotta are not to be missed. This is an absolutely irresistible combination highlighted by basil, pistachio, balsamico bianco and stone fruits. (This writer was delighted by persimmons on her visit.) If you’re more of a meat lover, the meatballs (described in the menu as “like grandma used to make”) and beef carpaccio with crispy artichokes, black truffle and pecorino will more than satisfy.
Carb lovers should peruse the pizza and pasta sections for some great treats. Try the Cornerstone with Italian sausage and roasted peppers, the Nonna with meatballs, red onions and ricotta or the Hot Mamma with pepperoni, hot honey and jalapeños, or have the chicken cannelloni in Alfredo sauce with crispy rosemary and Parm for an ultra-rich bite.
Now for the meat of the menu, the mains. Salmon puttanesca is
accompanied by cherry tomatoes, olive and capers, while the branzino gets a kick from piccata and wild greens. But those who want a heavier meal should consider the steaks portion of the menu, highlighted by a 12-ounce prime New York Strip, 8-ounce filet mignon and a 32-ounce ribeye for two. Don’t skip the sides! From roasted cauliflower and crispy Brussels sprouts to stuffed mushrooms, you simply can’t go wrong.
This is one of those dining rooms that makes sipping a glass of wine feel oh so right. Pair the Vermentino with a seafood delight or enjoy the Nebbiolo alongside a rich pasta or fattier cut of meat like the 14-ounce ribeye. If wine just doesn’t do it for you, have a cocktail like the refreshing spritz citron with Acqua di Cedro, prosecco and fresh basil.
Italian desserts are the best companions to an after-dinner cup of coffee, and Balla has all the hits. Satisfy your sweet tooth with the decadent dark chocolate tart featuring hazelnuts, mascarpone and Nutella, or have the fluffy bomboloni with sweet cream and raspberry preserves. –Em Jurbala

Mexican superstar makes a stop in Vegas on his most recent tour
At just 26, Peso Pluma has reached heights impressive for performers twice his age. The Mexican singer and rapper has only released five albums since 2020, but he is currently Mexico’s most-streamed artist of all time! His latest album, DINASTÍA, a collaboration with his cousin Tito Double P, is the basis for his current 30-city tour, which makes a stop in Las Vegas this week.
Pluma, who specializes in corridos tumbados (a direct reflection of his upbringing), hit new artistic heights with DINASTÍA, a double album that spawned the mega-hit “Dopamina,” which reached No. 1 on Bilboard ’s Mexico Songs chart and No. 2 on the Hot Latin Songs chart in the United States. The album itself debuted at No. 1 on Billboard ’s Top Latin Albums and Regional Mexican Albums charts and topped Spotify’s Global Albums chart.
In addition to his immense influence on culture and style, Pluma is a Grammy winner, garnering the award for Best Musica Mexicana Album for 2023 album Génesis
Fans will no doubt be thrilled to learn that the current tour, DINASTÍA by Peso Pluma & Friends, features not only Tito Double P but also surprise guests depending on which city the tour hits. They will also hear hits like “AMG,” “EL HECHIZO,” “Ella Baila Sola,” “Por Las Noches,” “CHANEL” and many more. –Ken Miller

Overwhelmed? Don’t Be!
Download this free app and get ready to tackle the city like a pro
Navigating the Strip and surrounding areas can be overwhelming. Luckily, the Vegas2Go app, available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, puts an extensive guide to the city right in the palm of your hand.
Simply set up your account and unlock a vast knowledge of the city, including special deals that you may otherwise miss out on. The app is locational, so once you’ve indicated the resort you’re staying at, toggle to the “selected” tab to see all the dining,
shopping, shows and lounges in the property. Then switch to the “nearby” setting to see all the options that are within a walking distance of your temporary digs.
If you have something specific in mind, perhaps a steakhouse dinner or family-friendly fun, use the search function. Use the red drop-down menu to search everywhere (which will populate results from all over the valley), nearby or in your selected property to find what you’re looking
for. And if it’s a one-off show you seek, check the “events” tab for an up-todate calendar of all the acts rolling through town during your stay.
Oh, and those exclusive offers we mentioned? They’re visible on each listing they apply to, so there’s no need to scour the web for ways to save on your Vegas vacay. Find an offer you’d like to use, select the “save” option and access it when you’re ready under the “saved offers” tab in the “more” menu. Enjoy! –Em Jurbala
A Sweet Island Escape
New bar on the Strip offers themed cocktails, chill vibes, live music and more
Inside the towering castle that reigns over the Las Vegas Strip is a new experience, The Tiki Bar. “We’ve always been about imagination here at Excalibur, and the thought of having a tiki bar is imaginative,” said Barbara Valle, senior beverage manager at Excalibur. “And we have a dragon that’s below the castle. His name is Murphy and he inspired this—it’s a twist between a dragon’s lair and a tropical escape.”
The huge lounge just beckons passersby to stop in to chillax while enjoying island sounds and island-inspired sips. If you’re a fan of tiki cocktails, you’ll find the classics here: the Painkiller with Myers’s Original Dark rum, pineapple juice, orange juice and cream of coconut syrup; the Mai Tai with Malibu Original rum, triple sec, pineapple, orange and lime juices and

Blue Hawaiian
buds on an adventure by ordering The Tiki Bar’s specialty cocktails, all served in tiki-inspired glassware. Start with Valle’s favorite one on the menu (and
one of our faves, too!), the Buzzed Tiki Torch. It’s a great fruity, creamy pickme-up cocktail made with RumChata, Fireball cinnamon whiskey, coffee liqueur, banana liqueur and simple syrup. Totally delicious!
For a spicy-and-sweet sip, try the Sweet Surrender, a vodka-style martini with a blend of New Amsterdam vodka, spicy mango syrup, pineapple juice, blue Curaçao and a chili mango rim.
And it wouldn’t be a true tiki bar experience without some shareable punch bowls on the menu like the Blue Hawaiian. Serving two to four people, the bowl is filled with Malibu Original rum, blue Curaçao, pineapple juice, sweet and sour mix and cream of coconut syrup.
There are so many tasty options on the menu that one might be hardpressed to make a decision, so The Tiki Bar has an awesome option: Tiki flights! You can order three mini versions of the various specialty cocktails so you can try a little bit of all the recipes. It’s a genius offering.
Of course, what island escape wouldn’t be complete without pineapple whip added to some of the recipes?! The Whip Tai mixes pineapple whip
with Myers’s Original Dark rum, Malibu Original rum and almond orgeat, while the Howler Whip is simple but strong with a blend of pineapple whip and Howler Head bourbon. And, yes, strong is the name of the game—just as at any classic tiki bar, The Tiki Bar makes its pours strong!
Bring the whole party and take a seat at one of the many tables as it’s open seating, or take a seat at the wraparound bar and chat with the friendly bartenders. “It’s great for day drinking,” Valle said. “There is more energy at night; weekends we have live bands Friday and Saturday. Island vibes music, but variety, too.” Yup, on the weekends enjoy live music, from island sounds and reggae to current and classic pop, rock, R&B and more. And the small dancefloor in front of the stage is there if those cocktails really begin to get you grooving.
“I’m very happy with the way the room turned out,” Valle said. “It really provides something different for the guest. The vibe is really an escape; when you’re in here, you’ve landed on a tropical paradise.” –Kiko Miyasato

Shaun Hergatt’s Aqua presents precise dishes with a spotlight on seafood
In the heart of the District in Resorts World Las Vegas lies Aqua, an intimate seafood-forward restaurant from celebrated chef Shaun Hergatt. Once you’re seated in Aqua’s elegant environs, with high ceilings and a striking black-and-gold
design, peruse the menu—you’ll immediately notice a focus on caviar.
And that’s by design. Aqua first started life as Caviar Bar, a favorite among visitors, serving high-end cocktails and a dinner menu with an excellent caviar selection. When Caviar Bar transformed into Aqua in late 2023, adding more space and enclosing the previously open restaurant, it was no surprise that the love of caviar remained and seafood continued as a focus on the menu.

Sammy Hagar loves performing in Las Vegas—and it shows
By GENEVIE DURANO
Sammy Hagar calls his Best of All Worlds residency retirement. If this is what stepping back looks like, sign us up. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer returns to Dolby Live at Park MGM for 11 performances across March and September.
“I could do this for the
rest of my life,” Hagar tells Las Vegas Magazine. “I honestly think it’s retirement.”
It’s hard to argue with the math. The residency
Park MGM 8 p.m. March 11, 13-14, 18 and 20-21, starting at $126 plus tax and fee. ticketmaster.com
reunites Hagar with bassist Michael Anthony, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, powerhouse drummer Kenny Aronoff and multi-instrumentalist Rai
Thistlethwayte. Hagar has the pick of dozens of hits before each show, letting the audience and the moment guide him. Sometimes it’s a fan holding up a sign asking for “Summer Nights.” Sometimes it’s redeeming a song the band stumbled through the night before. “We have so much fun,” he says. “This band is so good.”
The setlist draws from Hagar’s entire career—solo anthems like “I Can’t Drive 55” alongside deep Van Halen cuts and hits. “They all came from me,” Hagar says of weaving together songs from different eras. “So it was something I was experiencing in my life … it’s still part of my life. So when I’m singing them, you know, I bounce around in my head, in my heart and my soul with these songs onstage, but they’re all connected.”
When Hagar joined Van Halen in 1985,
replacing David Lee Roth, he was already a successful solo artist coming off “I Can’t Drive 55.”
With Hagar at the helm, Van Halen released four consecutive No. 1 albums: 5150 (1986), OU812 (1988), For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (1991) and Balance (1995). All went multiplatinum. Hagar and Eddie Van Halen wrote every song together, with Eddie handling the music and Hagar the lyrics and melodies. The partnership produced hits including “Why Can’t This Be Love,” “Right Now,” “Dreams” and “Poundcake.”
Eddie Van Halen’s passing in 2020 crystallized something for Hagar. A reunion that was supposed to happen became impossible. Alex Van Halen’s retirement from drumming closed another door. Carrying the Van Halen legacy forward became not just an opportunity but an obligation for both him and Anthony, who was a founding member of Van Halen. “‘Mike, it’s you and me, brother,’” Hagar
realized. “It’s so necessary to carry the legacy of that music on.”
But this residency goes beyond nostalgia. When Hagar sings “Right Now,” a song he and Eddie wrote in 1991, it resonates differently. “Something else is happening right now than what was happening in ’91 when we wrote it,” he notes. Even “Love Walks In,” which Hagar wrote about UFOs when such topics lived on the fringe, lands differently now that alien disclosure has entered mainstream conversation.
For Hagar, the residency offers what touring never could: great shows without the grind. “You play Wednesday, Friday, Saturday,” he says. “Thursday night, you have a great meal at the culinary capital of the world. Then you go see a great show and get inspired. Same bed every night. You don’t have to get on an airplane.”
That’s the genius of it: Hagar delivers peak experiences without the burnout. As retirement plans go, this one beats golf by a mile.

Twelve years later, High Roller remains a vital part of any Vegas experience
When was the last time you visited Las Vegas? Last year? Five years ago? Ten? Regardless of your answer, one thing is certain: This city has changed since you were last here. It’s ever-evolving, growing at a rapid rate with
new restaurants, attractions, shows and, especially, buildings. And if you want proof of that, it’s time to take a ride on The Linq Promenade’s High Roller, one of the world’s tallest observation wheels, where you can see
for yourself just how much the Strip has changed.
Climb aboard one of the pods (each one weighs 44,000 pounds and has a diameter of 23 feet) and get ready for a 30-minute jour ney highlighted by the city’s stunning visual landscape. In the nearly 12 years since High Roller was built, Resorts World
Las Vegas was built, the Fontainebleau Las Vegas was finally completed, Sphere was added, and Allegiant Stadium and T-Mobile Arena were built.
For the visuals alone, High Roller is a must for any Vegas visitor, but that’s just the beginning of the fun this attraction has in store: Families will enjoy the interactive part of High Roller. A video screen provides trivia and cool information, and, in addition you can get on your phone and download information about High Roller. (For instance, did you know that the entire wheel weighs more than three-and-a-half tons?)
Groups looking for a party atmosphere can take advantage of the Happy Half Hour, where your revolution is complete with a stocked bar from noon until 11:30 p.m.
You can get married on the High Roller! Your nuptials package comes with flowers and music, and the ceremony ends with you kissing your bride or groom as the rotation finishes.
Expecting and want to throw a gender-reveal party? Yep, you can do that on High Roller! Its gender reveal light show lights up High Roller’s 2,000 LED lights in your baby’s color for 15 minutes. This package also comes with a signature “Mommy Mocktail” from Sky Lounge Bar.
The dining options on the The Linq Promenade feel limitless, from the huge beer list at Yardbird, the British fare at Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips and Coco Pebbles French Toast at Maxie’s to brick-oven pizzas at Flour & Barley, barbecue from Memphis, Kansas City, the Carolinas and Texas at Virgil’s Real Barbecue, and the Double Doubles at In-N-Out Burger.
Other attractions at The Linq Promenade include FLY LINQ Zipline, where you soar 1,100 feet from a 12-story tower to High Roller over the heads of your friends, family and total strangers at speed of up to 35 mph, and Minus5 Icebar, a sub-zero destination where you don a parka and enjoy drinks in glasses made of—what else?—ice.

Desserts don’t get simpler—or more delicious—than panna cotta, an Italian classic that gets bumped up a notch at Brezza. This version is infused with pumpkin and warm spices and topped with a drizzle of rich bourbon maple caramel. And best of all? Every bite gets a flavorful crunch, thanks to the inclusion of spiced pepitas.

Key lime pie has long been a favorite dessert for millions (it really is one of the most unique flavor profiles in the entire sweets universe), and this creation at Bazaar Mar reimagines the classic in an incredibly visually appealing way. It’s so simple (key lime mousse, graham cracker crumble and lime air), but upon taking that first bite, it’s also sublime.

There are cakes and then there are creations like this, an elegant and eye-catching beauty that combines the flavors and textures of France and Japan. Paper-thin handmade crepes are carefully layered atop one another, each one getting a gentle layer of green tea pastry cream. The whole creation is finished off with Japanese powdered matcha. In every way, it’s irresistible.
