01 Introduction

The Holy Spirit Supernatural School of Ministry and Promise Christian University are higher learning institutions dedicated to equipping students with the necessary tools, knowledge, and spiritual maturity to impact their respective ministry goals for the Kingdom of God.

Our vision is to provide a comprehensive educational experience that fosters spiritual growth, discipline, and a deep understanding and love for the Word of God, empowering students to walk in harmony with the Holy Spirit and effectively answer God’s call to ministry.

Our purpose is to ensure that upon graduation, our students are fully equipped and empowered to overcome any challenge that may limit their ministry expectations so that they are ready to successfully fulfill their call and make a lasting impact for the Kingdom of God. We aim to provide a comprehensive education that prepares our students to confidently and effectively navigate the complexities of ministry, and to emerge as strong, resilient Spirit-led leaders who are ready to tackle any obstacle and achieve greatness in their respective fields of ministry.

Presently located in Glendale, California and Decatur, Illinois with other remote learning labs around the world offering accelerated, higher learning degree programs from AA Christian Biblical Studies through ThD and PhD, with a focus on supernatural ministry and spiritual growth. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the Word of God, as well as the practical skills and knowledge needed to succeed in ministry.

02 History

Promise Christian University

Promise Christian University (PCU) has a rich and fascinating history that spans several decades.

Early Years (2002–2005)

Promise Christian University was founded by Dr. Michael and Dr. Adelle McKinney as a Bible College to assist pastors and ministers of independent local churches achieve their degree in Theology for Ministry. The university started in the fellowship hall of the Covina Nazarene Church and initially offered certificate and degree completion programs.

Growth and Expansion (2005–2010)

Religious Studies, and Theology programs expanded during this period.

International Expansion (2015–Present)

In recent years, PCU has expanded its reach globally, establishing partnerships with churches, ministries, and organizations in over 19 nations. The university has also launched online programs and courses, making it possible for students from around the world to access its academic programs and resources.

Current Status

The university offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including degrees in Ministry, Theology, Counseling, and Leadership. PCU is committed to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to make a positive impact in their communities and the world.

Chaplaincy Program

The Chaplaincy Program at Promise Christian University is a comprehensive and well-structured program designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and spiritual foundation necessary to serve as chaplains in various settings. The program consists of three courses: Chaplains History, Chaplains Training (Pastoral Care), and Chaplains Training (Hospital or Volunteer Military Service).

Holy Spirit Supernatural School of Ministry

Founded in 1991 by Pastor David Andrade, along with Pastors Steve Davis, Dr. Elmer Jackson, and Pastor Gary Phillips. The purpose was to provide a thriving institution that carries a strong reputation for academic excellence, spiritual growth, and global discipleship.

Early Years (1991–2001)

The school’s humble beginnings date back to 1991, when it was established as a small Bible study group at Calvary Assembly of God in El Monte, California. Initially, the school offered certificate programs in Ministry and Spiritual Growth, with a focus on equipping believers with the knowledge, skills, and character training necessary to minister, pray and preach the Gospel anywhere in the world in the power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit.

Growth and Expansion (2010–2015)

In 2010, the school began to expand its programs and courses, adding new majors and concentrations in areas such as Supernatural Ministry, Healing, and Deliverance. The school began to establish partnerships with other ministries and organizations.

Partnership with Promise Christian University (2024)

The Holy Spirit Supernatural School of Ministry entered into a partnership with Promise Christian University (PCU) to provide a comprehensive education in ministry and spiritual growth. This partnership allowed the school to offer a degree program in Ministry for its students.

Extended Campus in Decatur, Illinois (2025)

In 2025, the school launched its extended campus in Decatur, Illinois, offering a range of programs and courses in Supernatural Ministry and Spiritual Growth. The extended campus is now located at 555 Imboden Dr., Decatur, IL 62526.

Accreditation

Holy Spirit Supernatural School of Ministry and affiliates are accredited through Transworld Accreditation Commission International, established in 1989 as a non-profit church organization and federally recognized for accrediting institutions globally.

03 Programs

The Holy Spirit Supernatural School of Ministry offers the following degree programs:

1. Associate of Arts (AA) in Christian Biblical Studies

This program is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of the Bible and ministry principles. The curriculum includes courses in Bible study, theology, and ministry practices.

Admission Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Ministry

This program provides students with a more in-depth understanding of ministry principles and practices. The curriculum includes courses in Bible study, theology, ministry practices, and leadership development.

Admission Requirements: An AA degree from HS-SSOM or another approved school or equivalent.

3. Master’s Degree (MA) in Ministry

This program is designed for students who have completed both the AA and BA degree programs, and are seeking advanced training in ministry.

Admission Requirements: An AA and BA degree or equivalent.

4. Theology (ThD or PhD)

These programs are designed for students who have completed a master’s degree and are seeking advanced research and academic training in ministry.

Admission Requirements: A master’s degree or equivalent.

Ways to Participate

1. Distance Learning: Attendees outside the Decatur, Illinois and Glendale, California campuses are considered distance learning students.

2. All Record-Keeping: Student records are maintained from the California office location.

3. Online Classes: Online classes taken individually at home require specific arrangements.

4. Authorized Learning Lab Locations: Certain specialized classes must be taken at preauthorized locations or via distant learning.

5. Faculty Presence: Group labs require the presence of an authorized faculty member.

7. Mail-In Registration: Download and print the registration form and mail to HS-SSOM.

8. Application Fee: All registration fees and class requirements are posted on the site.

9. Transcripts: Required as applicable for graduate degree programs.

10. Letters of Recommendation: Submit two letters from spiritual leaders or mentors.

11. Personal Statement: Submit a personal statement outlining your ministry goals and objectives.

07 Registration, Tuition and Fees

Tuition Schedule

Registration Fee: $50

Cost Per Class (30 Weeks): $25 per week = $750 for Christian Studies (AA) or Biblical Theology (BA)

Total for AA or BA: $800 ($50 Registration + $750 Tuition)

3-Week Trial Audit: $10

Example: A student registering for Christian Studies pays $800 ($50 Registration + $25 x 30 Weeks = $800).

Example: A student registering for a 3-Week Trial Audit pays $10. After the audit is completed and the student wants to continue, the regular registration fee and 30-week cost applies.

Students may request and enroll for HS-SSOM Sponsorship.

13 Code of Conduct

As students of Holy Spirit Supernatural School of Ministry, we are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, respect, and responsibility.

I. Academic Integrity

“Do not lie to each other” (Colossians 3:9-10) – Students are expected to maintain academic integrity by not engaging in plagiarism or cheating, properly citing sources, and not falsifying academic records.

II. Respect for Others

“Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31) – Students are expected to treat others with respect and dignity, regardless of background, culture, or beliefs.

III. Personal Conduct

“Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31) –Students are expected to conduct themselves in a way that honors God.

IV. Community Life

“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24) –Being supportive and encouraging one another.

V. Accountability

Students are expected to hold themselves and others accountable for their actions and behavior (Galatians 6:1).

VI. Conclusion

14 Grievance Policy

Definition

A grievance is a complaint or concern that a student, faculty, or staff member has regarding a decision, action, or behavior that they believe is unfair, unjust, or contrary to the policies and procedures of the school.

Procedure for Filing a Grievance

36. Informal Resolution: Attempt to resolve the issue informally first.

37. Formal Grievance: Submit a written complaint to the Dean of Students or appropriate administrator.

38. Grievance Form: Include a clear description, date/time, names of witnesses, and desired outcome.

39. Timeline: File within 30 days of the incident or decision.

Investigation and Resolution

• The Dean of Students will investigate and gather relevant information.

• A meeting will be scheduled with the individual.

• Resolution will be attempted in a fair and timely manner.

• Appeals may be made to the President of the school.

Timeline for Resolution

• Initial Response: Within 5 business days

• Investigation: Completed within 30 days

• Resolution: Within 60 days of initial response

15 Transfer Credit Policy

HS-SSOM is committed to providing a high-quality education and recognizes that many students have already completed coursework at other institutions.

General Principles

• HS-SSOM will accept transfer credits from institutions accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.

• Transfer credits will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis.

• Credits will be awarded based on similarity of coursework to HS-SSOM programs.

Types of Transfer Credit Accepted

• Credits from other colleges or universities

• Credits from seminaries or Bible institutes

• Credits from online or distance education programs

Limitations

• No more than 50% of total credits required may come from transfer credits.

• Coursework more than 10 years old will not be accepted.

Procedure

40. Submit an application for transfer credit to the Registrar’s office.

41. Provide official transcripts from the sending institution.

42. Evaluation will be completed within 30 days of receipt.

Appeals

Students not satisfied with the evaluation may appeal to the Academic Dean in writing.

HS-SSOM is committed to providing high-quality distance education programs that are accessible to students who cannot attend traditional on-campus classes. Programs are designed to provide flexibility to complete coursework from anywhere in the world.

Holy Spirit Supernatural School of Ministry received its official certificate of accreditation on July 27th, 2025 during the Church on Fire Conference in Decatur, IL, where the graduation of the 1st class for AA in Christian Biblical Studies took place.
