Senior MOMENTS A HAPPY HOME IN THE HINTERLAND
Residents at Landsborough Pines for just over a year, Syl and Raye are now a part of the Landsborough Pines community in their brand-new architecturally designed home.
The couple previously lived on Bribie Island for 23 years before selling their home to travel Australia. Raye explained, âItâs a nice little community, itâs not a very busy area and thatâs what I like after living on Bribie. Bribie became very busy and very touristy.â When they returned home from their most recent adventure, they decided it was time to settle into a place of their own, closer to their family. After striking up a conversation
with the Landsborough Pines park manager at the local markets, Syl and Raye visited the park and eventually moved in. Landsborough Pines provides over 55s an attractive independent retirement lifestyle in a peaceful bushland setting. Residents own their homes and pay a weekly site fee that is subsidised by Commonwealth Rent Assistance for those eligible. The grounds are kept secure and maintained by full-time on-site management.
âThe community here in the park, itâs a nice community, very close knit. People can come and join in at functions or they can

pool and other great facilities for them to enjoy when they come visit. âThey love to come and see the ducks down at the pond,â Raye says.
The couple are keen gardeners and very involved in the community Gardening Club. âWe have herbs and salad vegies that we grow. Itâs very popular with the residents, we all help to run the garden.â
Raye explains that one of the best things about living at Landsborough Pines is how accessible the location is. âWe have everything here. Medical clinics, dentists, bakeries, news agencies, coffee places, itâs all only a few hundred metres away. The rail station is close by and itâs easy to get to the highway if we want to go up or down the coast.â
After coming off a big property, Syl and Raye are enjoying having a more manageable home. âWeâre nice and comfortable. Our house is the Katherine design and the living area is lovely for two people.â With two young grandchildren only 5 minutes away, Landsborough Pines has a
