Early Mother’s Day treat
Peachester State School will again host its popular Mother’s Day high tea on Friday, May 3 from 1-3pm in the front gardens of the school. This is a lovely afternoon to dress up and treat your mother, your neighbour or a friend to a table of delightful savoury and sweet treats and a lovely selection of exotic teas. Of course, the men in your lives are also welcome. This year search your china cabinet and dust off your special cup and saucer for your chance to win the best cup competition. Autumn Fair
The Handmade in Maleny Autumn Fair will be held at the Maleny Community Centre from Friday-Monday, May 3-6. There will be a range of high quality, handcrafted homewares, fashion items and gifts rs available for sale, all made by the talented members of the Maleny Arts and Crafts Group. There will be lots of gift ideas for Mother’s Day presents as well as a gallery of artwork on display. Shop local and buy unique handmade products. There will also be a raffle for a quilt handmade by the group’s quilters. The fair will open at 9am each day. Entry ion is free and EFTPOS is available. Jazz up mum’s day
The Sunshine coast Jazz Club welcomes back Russell Bayne and the All Stars for a Mother’s Day concert on Sunday, May 12 at the Caloundra Power Boat Club starting at 1.30pm. The All Stars is a group of highly skilled musicians who are individually recognised as being some of the best performers in the country. This band is highly versatile and always fun, and is one of those rare groups equally skilled performing Dixie, swing, modern jazz, Latin, rock, pop and country. The band’s focus is always on entertainment, with superb musicianship and humour. Ticket prices are $20 for members, $22.50 for seniors and $ $25 for non-members.
