FOR a community built around connection, the opening of the Nirimba Drive Bridge is a milestone worth celebrating.
Now open and already becoming part of everyday life, the new bridge and 320-metre road extension create a vital link between the neighbouring suburbs of Nirimba and Banya. Spanning across the Aura Brook, the bridge links Nirimba Drive to Banya Avenue, improving access for motorists while making it easier and safer for pedestrians and cyclists to move through the community.
Stockland Aura Senior Development Manager, Genaea Keith, said the bridge is already delivering immediate benefits while supporting Aura’s long-term vision for a well-connected, active and accessible city.
“Nirimba Drive Bridge is
about making everyday life easier for locals, by creating quicker, safer and more convenient ways to travel between neighbourhoods and the places people visit every day, such as schools, parks and local services,” Genaea said.
With the bridge now open, children and parents can walk across to Nirimba State Primary School, with a dedicated cycling path to follow, helping make the school run a simpler and more enjoyable part of the day. Designed to support two-way vehicle traffic, the bridge features 1.8-metrewide pedestrian paths on each side, along with a dedicated three-metrewide veloway for cyclists.
While the road connection is now open, the veloway is scheduled to open in March once final works on the eastern side of the bridge are complete.

Expansion of motorcycle and jet ski centre
WHEN Caloundra Motorcycle Centre opened the doors to its new Aura premises last August, it marked far more than a change of address. For coowners Zac and Corey, both Sunshine Coast locals, the expansion represented a decisive investment in one of Queensland’s fastestgrowing communities.
Having completed their mechanical apprenticeships locally, the pair built the business from the workshop floor up. Today, with more than 50 years of combined experience across the team, Caloundra Motorcycle Centre has established itself as the region’s leading onestop shop for motorcycle and jet ski sales and servicing — from logbook maintenance and repairs to roadworthy inspections and performance upgrades.

The move to a larger, purpose-built facility in Aura signals strong confidence in the Coast’s economic
numbers and broaden its offering across both land and water. In addition to being approved dealers for leading brands like Yamaha, Beta, Honda, Ducati, and Kawasaki.

Gaps between sessions can slow progress, while consistent participation reinforces learning and accelerates improvement. Over time, this routine fosters confidence — an essential foundation for water safety in Australia’s beach-loving culture. Purpose-built facilities also play a crucial role. At the school’s Aura centre, pools have been designed specifically for teaching, with multi-depth levels catering to different ages and abilities. Warm
water temperatures and magnesium mineral pools create a gentle, supportive environment, helping young swimmers stay relaxed and

includes Jet Skis and personal watercraft, positioning the business to capitalise on the Sunshine Coast’s thriving marine lifestyle market. By bringing leading Jet Ski models under one roof — alongside road bikes, dirt bikes and side-by-sides — the centre is tapping into strong local demand from recreational riders and holiday visitors.
For Zac and Corey, the growth is about more than sales. It is about backing the region and contributing to its future – they are building a business designed to grow alongside the community. Conveniently located 15 minutes from Beerwah, the showroom suits Hinterland residents who want to meet the team and talk about your next ride.
Consistency the key to building confident young swimmers
Importantly, a positive atmosphere underpins every lesson. By celebrating effort over perfection and progress at every pace, instructors encourage children to attempt new skills and overcome fears. This approach transforms lessons into something pupils look forward to each week.
With enrolments for 2026 now open, the message to parents is clear: regular attendance is more than a timetable commitment — it is an investment in confidence, competence and a lifelong love of the water.
