SPRING 2026

GLANT is the creation of Gary Glant, who grew up surrounded by beautiful design. His childhood home, on the shore of Seattle’s Lake Washington, was filled with the work of Jack Lenor Larsen and other legendary names in design. When he is not traveling the four corners of the world, he lives in Seattle, where he founded GLANT in 1976. With the addition of Gary Glant’s son, Adam, in 2011, GLANT has solidified its identity as a multi-generational textile house.

GLANT is renowned for their exceptional beauty, craftsmanship, quality and performance. The collection is carefully designed: individual components coordinate effortlessly providing an extraordinary level of choice and sophistication for any environment and decorating style from rich to understated, classic to modern, refined to relaxed. The designs are inspired by colors and textures found the world over, from the company headquarters in the Pacific Northwest to Northern Italy, where the majority of GLANT’s textures are produced.

Situated in Bergamo, Italy, the GLANT mill is able to develop and create the finest furnishing textiles on the world market, producing plain and jacquard furnishing fabrics in cotton, linen, silk, viscose, pure wool, trevira, and acrylic. Suitable for high-end residential and commercial use, including handsome ranges of outdoor and flame retardant Trevira CS. Skilled artisans work on the looms to create finished product that performs beautifully and is essentially hand-made.

Today, the initial collection has grown to include approximately 2,000 selections and GLANT is an international leader in texture and color. Highly prized for their exceptional quality and spectacular range of contemporary and high-tech constructions, GLANT textiles are found in the most discriminating and beautifully designed international installations, including homes, hotels, restaurants, private aircraft, and yachts.

2026 marks the Fiftieth Anniversary of GLANT and of the Glant / Bergamo love affair.

Just after the new year of 1976, Gary Glant stumbled upon a small set of samples in an agent’s office on Madison Avenue in New York. The textures in the stack were understated yet substantial, chic, and modern.

It was disclosed that they were from a twenty-year-old mill in Northern Italy. The agent shared that the samples had just arrived and he had no experience with this producer yet, and said the mill was a Faberge Egg, spotless and had great potential along with a wonderful and impressive owner. Gary was sold and made plans to visit Bergamo in the following months.

On the first day in this wonderful town of Bergamo, with its Medieval walled Upper City / CITTA ALTA, situated 50 kilometers / 30 miles east of Milano, Gary and Vicki Glant sor ted through archives of textures representing articles made for clients of the mill. Each item was more handsome and exciting than the last. A first selection was made for GLANT and the rest is history.

After working together for twenty years, in the 1990s GLANT bought Texital, which had been the first Italian mill in the post war 1950s to introduce high-end Boucles and Chenilles to the international interior design world through houses like Knoll, Larsen and Brunswig.

Through the years Gary, Vicki and Adam Glant have spent a considerable part of their lives working and enjoying spectacular Bergamo. Adam’s sixth grade was spent in a non-English speaking public school in Bergamo’s Lower City while the family lived on VIA SAN GIACOMO in Bergamo’s Upper City in a converted convent overlooking the plains leading to Milano.

During the years, the Glants bought a box in Bergamo’s spectacular IL DONEZETTI Opera House, named after the famous composer, born in Bergamo, and for the enjoyment of those who worked at the mill alongside the family.

Bergamo, rich in architecture and in art, is known for its impressive art museum, the ACCADEMIA Carrara. The Glants have enjoyed countless visits to this important and highly regarded Italian institution.

Another favorite family outing is to SAN VIGILIO at the top of Bergamo Alta where the spectacular vistas are a visual delight any time of the year.

In Bergamo one takes a funicular from the Lower City to the Upper City and it was this funicular and a visit to Bergamo that inspired Richard Meier and the concept and design of the Getty Museum in Los Angeles.

As GLANT celebrates its Fiftieth Anniversary and looks to the future, we reflect on the honor it has been and continues to be, to design and manufacture the highest quality of innovative and timeless textures for the talented and gifted clientele around the world who make it possible for us to do what we do best.

ACCADEMIA

ACCADEMIA, a stunning and contemporary geometric featured in four wonderful colorations of Dusk Blue, Sage, Café Latte and Midnight.

This texture is named after Bergamo’s famous museum the Accademia Carrara, which houses priceless works of Italian and other European masters. The museum also has a Modern Art presence in a separate building across the street from the Accademia.

Accademia is designed for both residential and commercial use and receives a Heavy-Duty rating.

CITTA ALTA

CITTA ALTA is a dynamic patterning which suggests winding lanes found in Bergamo’s iconic and charming Medieval Upper City.

Introduced in four nuanced neutrals of Travertine, Limestone, Marble and Granite, Citta Alta is designed to compliment both warm and cool residential and commercial interiors.

IL DONIZETTI

IL DONIZETTI is a contemporary boucle in four outstanding and very useable and chic neutrals of Crema, Travertine, Stone and Mocha.

Donizetti, born in Bergamo, was one of Italy’s most well-regarded composers and influenced work by such outstanding composers as Verdi.

Bergamo’s famous Opera House which is often compared to the magnificent La Scala Opera House in Milano and is affectionately referred to as “the little La Scala”, is named after this illustrious son of Bergamo. The Glant Family has owned a box in this beautiful and Old World opera house where each Spring one of Europe’s most famous piano festivals is held, which delights piano-playing Gary who is often in Bergamo at this time of year.

The handsome and contemporary boucle IL Donizetti achieves Heavy-Duty abrasion resistance and is designed to grace both residential and commercial interiors.

SAN VIGILIO

SAN VIGILIO is a lush and very chic texture named after Bergamo’s upper most destination overlooking the verdant landscape below and the plains and foothills leading to the Alps.

With an intentional dry hand, San Vigilio is heavy duty and made from a wonderful mix of rayon, wool, cotton and polyamide. Introduced in three wonderful colorations of Barley, Juniper and Espresso, this handsome jacquard is designed for both residential and commercial application.

VIA SAN GIACOMO

VIA SAN GIACOMO is a chic and timeless construction offered in four wonderful colorations of Stone, Flax, Pale Taupe and Mist.

Via San Giacomo is a lovely cobblestoned street in Bergamo’s Upper City which lies above the wall that circles Bergamo Alta and offers breathtaking views of the city and plains below. The Glant Family lived on Via San Giacomo while Adam was attending Middle School.

Designed to perform, Via San Giacomo receives a Heavy-Duty abrasion rating and is designed for residential and commercial use.

TEXTURES WITH NEW COLORATIONS

GAMLA

GAMLA STAN is a most expressive cobbly patterning; a modern take Stan (Swedish for Old Town) dates scenic main square which is surrounded Nobel Museum and Sweden’s baroque picturesque, original center.

Gamla dates back to the 13th century and exudes old world charm with its surrounded by old merchant houses. The Stockholm Cathedral, the baroque Royal Palace are all located in Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s

growing Porta Via Performance category which is characterized by ease performance and wearability, while remaining PFA free. Excellent abrasion ratings ideal choice for high-end residential and contract installations.

GLANT OUTDOOR MODERNE is a soft and sumptuous yet understated texture woven from custom spun acrylic yarns in Glant’s Northern Italian mill.

This handsome texture will be perfectly at home in the chicest of interior or exterior settings.

VIA MANZONI, a chicissima and stunning texture, is named after a bustling and fashionable street in the heart of Milano, which leads from the Piazza della Scala to Monte Napoleone, Milano’s most famous fashion district.

Made of 100% cotton and handsomely scaled, Via Manzoni, a modern and contemporary take on a classic rib construction, adds three new colorations to its already smart and carefully designed colorways, all highly suitable for residential and commercial application
