elebrated every March 8, International Women’s Day reminds us that inequality between men and women remains a reality, and that the gap is still deep despite progress. On the occasion of this day, Glamour Fashion & Beauty paid tribute to women from various backgrounds and in different sectors. From Kathrine Switzer who campaigned for women to be admitted to marathons to Flo who regularly practices to run races, passing by Baya, this painter with unknown talents,as well as Stéphanie, the queen of make up and Jez the creator of multi faceted jewelry. All these women have at least one thing in common to make their messages heard, and to assert themselves through the various activities they exercise.

Even if the road seems far away still, the testimonies collected in this issue of Glamour Fashion & Beauty on women’s day prove that despite the wide gap, women are starting to gain ground and making considerable progress on the road to equality, thanks to individual initiatives that command admiration. Despite changing attitudes in some countries, the international community agrees that the situation of most women in the world is evolving very slowly. At present, no country can make it clear that perfect equality has been achieved in this area. There are still many legal and cultural hurdles to overcome in order to get there.
The laws of the universe have given women the power to give birth and to create so that man can exist. This fundamental aspect should not be flouted either by violence or by the hatred which unfortunately still characterize some, thus preventing us from understanding each other. We can only congratulate and admire the testimony of these women who were quoted in this issue of Glamour Fashion & Beauty and who prove by their courage and their will, that things can move in the right direction. This year 2020 can be a remarkable advance in this quest for equality and respect for women’s rights , a glimmer of hope that seems possible to get to a more harmonious and less selfish world.
From the time of Kathrine Switzer to the present day, the path crossed seems tiny in the light of circumstances, it continues to progress in the direction that seems to be in order to try to change mentalities and reduce the gap existing between man and woman. Until we see the evolution of this change manifest fully, we will have to work to find a harmony and balance that allow men and women to flourish. Because one cannot go without the other and vice versa.

The Roman theater ... Platform for artists to unleash their talents. Timgad Theater hosts festivals.

The enclosure of the theater was divided into two parts, the upper one, reserved for the bourgeois class and the notables of the city. , and
the other lower dedicated to the public and the rest of the people so that there is no mixing of classes. The stage platform was intended for the actors, who presented strange stories, novels of a legendary nature and short and humorous plays, the theater was also a place of fun in which the poets recited their poems and the singers performed their songs .

A
t a time when technology is an integral part of our daily lives, The story of Kathrine Virginia Switzer born in 1947 takes us back to an era that did not have the same concept. We are in the sixties, women’s sport is not as popular as it is today. Kathrine Virginia Switzer, who studies journalism at Syracuse University, trains in crosscountry with men because there is no women’s team for this discipline. She heard that another woman, named Roberta Gibb run this distance, at the Boston Marathon in 1966 in 3h21m25s without being registered. Kathrine Virginia Switzer therefore asks her trainer Arnie Briggs to let her run this marathon, he refuses because of the prejudices of the time. But he ends up reconsidering his position, and let her run this distance during training, 22

to reach her goal by running an approved marathon for a woman. Where it all began. It is with these initials K V «Kathrine Virginia» that she signs the application to enter the Boston marathon. She is training hard for this event, covering more distance during training. She was 20 years old when she competed in this marathon on April 19, 1967 in Boston, with bib number 261. Alongside her trainer Arnie Briggs and her companion Tom Miller, she wore shorts and a tracksuit to take part in this event. , which marks a turning point in the history of women’s sport. Recognizable by her appearance, and the makeup she wears, she was noticed at the sixth kilometer, by one of the race organizer Will Cloney, who wanted to prevent her from continuing her race. An incredible story these days, even sur-
real, but put in context takes on a whole new meaning. Somewhat frightened by the turn of events, Kathrine Virginia Switzer will continue her mission, despite the constant threats from Semple who orders her to stop running. She will be defended by her coach Arnie Briggs, then by her companion Tom Miller who will violently push Semple with a shoulder, sending him down the side of the road. This unpleasant incident will give additional motivation to Kathrine Virginia Switzer to go to the end of this journey. She will finish the marathon in 4h20mn, one hour longer than Roberta Gibb. But for her, it’s already a victory, because when she crosses this finish line, she knows that the press will seize the moment. The photos and the intimidation scene on the course will make the headlines,
and even if Kathrine Virginia Switzer will be disqualified from the race, by the AAU (the American Athletics Federation) which prohibits women the right to participate at road races. Kathrine Virginia Switzer’s goal has already been achieved, to make this race a milestone in the history of women’s sport, a ban that will open a door for the women’s marathon. Following this race, Kathrine Virginia Switzer will campaign for the recognition of the Boston Marathon for women, also be included in the Olympic’s program. It was in 1972 that this event was officially opened to women, and then in 1984 the first Women’s Olympic Marathon was held. At the end of this fight, the performances of Kathrine Virginia Switzer did not stop growing: female victory in the New York marathon in 1974 in 3h07mn29s, 59th times marathon, personal best performance to add to her credit Boston Marathon in 2h51mn37s. She also contributes to the protest against differences and inequalities in sport. Fifty years after her first appearance, she continues to run defending this noble cause. On April 17, 2017 she ran her ninth Boston Marathon at 70, with the same bib number 261, for a time of 4h44mn31s. On April 22, 2018 she participated in her 40th Marathon in London, which she finished in 4h44mn49s. Beyond sporting performance, we must above all remember the fight of a woman, who has made her condition a strength, and showed everyone that any form of injustice can be overcome. Her last testimony during her visit to Paris in October 2019, proves that her action somewhat opened up a new sports path for women beyond taboos.

The Algerian national team received several awards during the 28th edition of the CAF Awards 2019. The ceremony took place in Egypt and saw the participation of many football personalities, the most important are: FIFA President Gianni Anfonitino, CAF President Ahmed Ahmed and the former coach of the Algerian National Team ( the Greens) Rabeh Madjer. The lion’s share of the crowns returned this time to the Algerian National team, coach Djamel Belmadi, he won the prize for the best coach of the African continent in 2019. The other two steps of the podium went respectively to Senegalese coach Aliou Cissé and Tunisian Coach Mouine Chaabani.

is career began just a few years ago, but in that short period he has left a mark that other coaches have not made over years in the training arena. Former Algerian international player and currently coach of the Greens, Djamel Belmadi began his football career in Paris Saint-Germain where he made his debut in January 1996, before joining the French club Martigues in the 1996 to 1997 . He spent a season with the Martégale team before joining French club Marseille from 1997 to 1998 After spending a season at the Marseille club, Djamel signed to AS Cannes from 1998 to 1999, before returning again during the 1999 to 2000 season to Olympique de Marseille, he then landed at Celta Vigo on loan for the same season. In terms of international career, Djamel Belmadi has 20 selections for the Algerian team between 2000 and 2004 with a status of captain of the Greens at CAN 2004 in Tunisia.

When I started this discipline, I had no idea that I was going to draw all this strength and energy from it. I’ve always run out of love and passion. I participated in competitions to win and obtain titles when I was younger. Over time, my perception of sport has changed. Since living in the United States, I’ve learned to overcome these limits of fear, especially when you’re in a big country like the United States where fear is bigger, how it works? Once you’ve crossed that threshold, your mind gradually opens up to a new culture. You end up adapting, especially since this country is welcoming. I have learned to be more organized and spend a lot of time training, because I believe that there is no success without work and effort. Charity and humanitarian aid I also help charities and associations that fund cancer research, as well as other diseases, famine and poverty around the world. So far, positive results have been achieved. Since 2016 I participated in six marathons , in 2018 I participated in Berlin, Chicago, and New York marathons within 50 days. As for this year, I was going to participate in London and New York marathons, in the near future I wish to participate in Algeria. We do not know what fate has in store for us, but life also offers great opportunities which sometimes have to be seized. I studied Anchology in Algeria and obtained a technical certificate in public health, which specializes in public care. Now I work real estate. Many people use age as a an excuse, they stop halfway through their activity, while they still have a lot to contribute and pass on. The mental and physical states are the most important elements that drive us forward. This is what I often say to children and people I meet during these demonstrations, age is not an excuse to stop doing what we want to do .
