Girls Inc. events are mission focused and we use events as one of the tools in our fundraising tool chest. We have a keen focus on building relationships, and storytelling, and have empowered our Board/volunteers to be a part of building our network by inviting them to become table ambassadors.
Our donors are invested and this event helps to increase their giving and share their stories of why they support Girls Inc. The design of this fundraiser is that a table ambassador will invite their connection of guests and therefore know each person at their table .

Chloe and Mia shared their experiences and impact being participants at Girls Inc. of Durham. Hearing the impact our programming has had on their lives and will help shape their futures. Encouraging audience members to invest in our future leaders.
Potential opportunities to expand sponosrship opportunties to new local businesses Explore lower level sponsorship levels and leveraging small business owners to attend the event to learn more about our mission cultivating and building new relationship. Offset expenses and cost by leveraging partnerships and getting items donated. DJ sound system services did not show up in time as per contract agreement. They agreed to refund amount towards Power of the Purse Event in November.
The Town of Ajax Partnership Fund covered 100% of the venue costs.
Costs included: Linen rentals and red food containers
100 attended; 70 New to Girls Inc. ; 30 stewardship
33/70 New Attendees donated $3,690.00
18/30 stewardship donated $3,514.00
Success of this type of event is built around leveraging relationships with those attending. 70% of the focus should be on new individual donors and 30% on stewardship; celebrating our exisiting donors. This is the future goal of this event.
Guests loved hearing from the girls and seeing the direct impact our programming has had on them and the confidence they displayed.
Recommendation:
Seek additional sponsorship next year, Small businesses committing to a lower level & attending the event to learn our mission helps relationship building. Important that we have Board members to actively recruit for sponsorship and actively bringing personal guests to attend. Creating name tags for all guests.
