Join us for a summer filled with tons of “You-nique” experiences where you can solve a mystery, unleash a little mayhem, adventure across America, sing, dance & showcase your talent or color a little outside the lines.

The first few pages of this edition of #Sisterhood highlight the amazing spring events that are already open for registration in Campwise. Beginning on page 6, gain a sneak peek to all the fun we have in store for you this summer! In 2026, we’re hosting 12 camp sessions at Starwoods Girl Scout Center, 6 camp sessions at venues across the state, a day excursion to Tulsa, and a multi-day excursion to Arkansas to go rock climbing at Horseshoe Bend.

Council-hosted summer sessions open for registration with a $25 deposit at noon on the first Monday in February: 2/2. The deposit period continues through April 14, with balances due May 1.

Stay tuned for the full summer guide to hit your mailbox this spring, including all the details on volunteer-hosted and partnerhosted camps and events that will open for registration at noon on the third Monday in April: 4/20.

Grab a life vest and paddle and get ready to see Wichita like never before! Kayaking the Arkansas River is part urban adventure, part peaceful escape. Float past iconic sights like the Keeper of the Plains, cruise under historic bridges, and catch skyline views. Whether you’re a seasoned kayaker or just dipping your paddle for the first time, this day on the river is a great end to your spring break! Participants will be dropped off at the Big Arkansas River Park and picked up at the Kellogg bridge boat access point. Fun patch provided.

Start your engines and join us for our 8th annual Girl Scout Grand Prix!! This is a family event and we will have open classes for siblings and adults to participate as well! This American Safety & Health Institute blended course includes an at-home study portion and an in-person class where you will practice important lifesaving skills. Participants must be physically able to perform the basic skills required for CPR. If you demonstrate achievement of the required knowledge and hands-on skills, you will receive a certification card valid for two years. Approximately two weeks prior to your in-person course, you will receive an email with instructions for the at-home study portion. No refunds will be issued once that email is sent.

The American Health and Safety Institute will provide training for youth who are planning to provide babysitting services for young children and infants. The program includes instruction on the business of babysitting, proper supervision, basic caregiving skills, and guidelines on how to recognize and handle problems that may occur. The goal of this training is to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively supervise and manage children in their care. Kansas law does not specify a minimum age for babysitters; the recommended age is 12-13, depending on readiness, maturity, and responsibility. Youth Cost: Free Adult Cost: Free Bridge to the next Girl Scout level in a big way, over the Arkansas River at the Keeper of the Plains! Celebrate the achievements of your troop and fellow Girl Scout sisters throughout Kansas Heartland at this free, council-wide ceremony. There will be plenty of fun for the whole troop and family: make a bridging SWAP to add to your collection and bring homemade SWAPs to exchange with fellow Girl Scouts in the Make New Friends area, try out our adventure zone, and more! Check in and activities begin at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Fun patch provided.

Registration & Program Credits

Most events and all summer camps utilize Campwise for registration. Scan the QR code to access your family account. You likely already have an account – try the email address you use for other Girl Scout information. If not, you can create a new account by following the instructions on the Campwise site.

Campwise walks you through the registration process step-by-step, including information for the camper, guardian, and emergency contacts, session options, authorization and health forms, allergies, and medications. Campwise remembers your information from year to year, so if you’ve attended sessions before, be sure to check answers to completed forms to update anything that has changed. Be sure to check the Forms section in Campwise, where you can immediately download the camper packet that gives you all the information you need to be prepared for camp! This packet provides details on check in/out procedures, gear list, preparing medications for check in, and so much more!

If your Girl Scout has earned Program Credits, you can choose if and when to utilize them for payment. Program Credits earned during the 2026 Cookie Program will be available in Campwise on April 15.

Incentives for early registration

▶ Register during the deposit period from February 2 to April 14 and save $5 to 25 dollars per session with early pricing!

▶ Register for a Starwoods 4-day, 2-night, or 4-night camp session by May 15 to receive a limited edition Starwoods t-shirt; one per camper per summer.

Refund Policy

You may cancel your reservation for an event or summer camp and receive a full refund, minus any deposit, if the request is received more than 14 days prior to the start of the session. Limited refunds will be given within 14 days of the program; see full refund policy on our website and in the Forms section of Campwise for specific refund scenarios. No refund is given if the camper is a no show or leaves a session early. Additionally, t-shirt or other optional purchases will not be refunded and travel may have an earlier refund date.

Financial Assistance

We never want finances to get in the way of having an amazing Girl Scout summer!

Camperships are available!

Scan the QR code to access the application. If you will travel more than 125 miles to attend a camp session, you may request funds through the campership program to assist with fuel costs.

Starwoods Camp Store

The Camp Store (previously known as Trading Post) is a small Girl Scout retail shop located at Starwoods Girl Scout Center that contains items for sale, ranging in price from $0.50 to $25, including camp gear, t-shirts, and snacks. Campers at Starwoods sessions will have one opportunity to visit the Camp Store during their session. The Snack Shack contains items for sale, ranging in price from $0.50 to $2, including snow cones, popcorn, ice cream, candy bars, chips, and drinks. Overnight campers have the opportunity to visit the Snack Shack during free time on each full day of a the camp session (usually Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday).

Streamline the check-in process by adding funds to your camper’s Camp Store balance during registration! Cash will also be accepted at checkin for sleepaway sessions and at Monday’s checkin for day camp. Parents/Guardians can monitor Camp Store balance and items purchased via Campwise. Unspent Camp Store funds are forwarded to a future camp session or refunded as Program Credits by the end of the summer camp season.

Level Up!

Campers level up for events and camps on May 15, so plan to attend spring sessions for your current grade, and sessions that begin on or after May 15 as the grade you will be going into next fall!

Four-Day Camps

Four-Day Sessions at Starwoods Girl Scout Center

Youth Cost: $175 until April 14, then $190

Food: Bring a sack lunch daily; snacks provided

For novice campers who prefer a day-only experience, Starwoods day camps are Monday though Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with check-in as early as 8:30 a.m and pick-up as late as 5:30 p.m. Campers may choose to ride the bus from the Wichita office to Starwoods each day; this is a great option for east side families or caregivers who need an earlier drop-off time. Bus check-in at the office begins at 7:45 a.m. and the bus returns at 5:15 p.m. for pick-up by 5:30 p.m.

Day campers will participate in a variety of activities depending on their age including swimming, target sports, climbing, team building, and boating. They will also complete crafts, games, and activities related to that session’s theme and badgework.

Who doesn’t love a slumber party?! Day campers who are entering 2nd grade or older can extend the fun by adding a Wednesday night indoor “glamping” experience to their camp session for an additional $35.

About Starwoods Girl Scout Center

This sprawling 160-acre camp near Clearwater encompasses a multitude of indoor and outdoor experiences. Campers can enjoy swimming in Wattles Lake, arts and crafts, team-building courses, and hiking along the Chisholm Trail.

Sleepaway Camps

Sleepaway Sessions at Starwoods Girl Scout Center

Youth Cost: $300 until April 14, then $325 (4 night) or $175 until April 14, then $190 (2 night)

Food: Eat dinner before arrival, then we’ll provide snacks and meals from day 2 breakfast through last day lunch.

Sleeping options: Sleepaway campers at Starwoods will stay in cabins with Girl Scouts of similar ages, adult counselors, and junior counselors.

Is your camper ready to eat, sleep, and live the camp life for multiple days? Four night sleepaway camps run from Sunday at 6:30 p.m. to Thursday at 6 p.m., with check-in and pick-up within 30 minutes before or after. Not quite ready for the full week experience? Try our two night session from Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. to Thursday at 6 p.m. instead!

Campers will participate in activities that will help them build life and outdoor skills depending on their age including swimming, boating, target sports, or high adventure. They will also complete crafts, games, and activities related to that session’s theme and badgework.

Turtles & Kayaks

June 14 at 6:30 p.m. to June 18 at 6 p.m. Grades: Rising 6th through 12th graders

Level up your water craft skills in this introduction to navigating flat and moving water! After an introductory canoe session, progress to paddling independently in a kayak through the Arkansas River and Fall River. Includes two nights at Starwoods and two nights camping at Fall River State Park.

At this fun day camp Girl Scouts will dive into what makes them one-of-a-kind! From dancing like nobody’s watching to decorating “I’m awesome!” mirrors and swapping high-fives in our compliment circle, girls will learn to focus on fun, strength, kindness, and confidence—not just looks. Depending on the amenities at the venue, your experience may also include team building, swimming, or target sports.

Hey, campers: Bring your favorite grown up to camp and show them all the best parts of camp life! You & Me sessions are a great option for troops or families who would like to camp together. If attending as a troop, at least two volunteers must register and attend to meet adult-to-youth camping ratios for their group. If attending as a family; one caregiver must register and attend as chaperone. The session begins at 1 p.m., with check-in as early as 12:30 p.m. and ends at 10 a.m. the next morning.

This 8.3-acre camp on the Neosho River, just northwest of Emporia, has two shelter houses, a gazebo, hiking trails, and offers a variety of sporting options including an archery range. It’s a great location for first-time campers.

This year, campers will have even more ways to build confidence, gain hands-on experience, and grow as leaders in our supportive camp community. We will continue to offer opportunities to rising 8th through 12th graders in our Counselor-in-Training program. For those more experienced teens we will also be offering paid opportunities as Junior Counselors for ages 16-18 years.

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Positions

Rising 8th through 12th graders

Are you ready to transition from being a camper to helping out at camp? Open to 8th–12th graders, our CIT program helps teens develop essential leadership and teamwork skills while learning what it takes to support younger campers. Training takes place Friday, June 5, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Then you can opt to come -and-go each day of the seesion from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30p.m. or stay the full week from Sunday at 3 p.m. to Thursday 6:30 p.m. and participate in additional leadership sessions and/or camp activities each evening. Cost: $30 for day camp option, $125 for sleepaway option (camper ball cap included). Your CIT experience may also qualify you to earn your CIT I or II Teaching Leadership award.

Junior Counselor, Lifeguard, or Specialty Assistant Positions

Rising 12th graders or recent graduates, age 16-18

For experienced teens, we’re pleased to offer paid Junior Counselor opportunities. For rising 12th graders who are ages 16–18 years old, who have previous Counselor-in-Training experience are eligible to apply, interview and be hired as a Junior Counselor for two to five week long camp sessions. These roles provide real responsibility, mentorship, and the chance to make a meaningful impact at camp.

Level up your water craft skills in this introduction to navigating flat and moving water! Practice water safety and team work during an introductory canoe session, then progress to paddling independently in a kayak through the lake and stream at Starwoods Girl Scout Center. On 6/16, we’ll load up the kayak trailer and experience the Arkansas River near the Keeper of the Plains, then head over to Fall River State Park for two nights of camping, including a 4-7 mile paddle down Fall River. Registration opens on February 2. This immersive weekend retreat is designed to empower volunteers through education, skillbuilding, and personal development. Inspired by the idea of breaking free from limitations, this weekend will encourage participants to escape self-doubt, unlock their potential, and discover innovative ways to inspire and lead the youth we serve. The weekend will blend engaging workshops, interactive activities, and networking opportunities in a fun, adventurous camp atmosphere that mirrors the daring spirit of an escape mission. During this same weekend, we’ll also offer a First Aid/CPR/AED course, USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification, and a Small Craft Safety course.
