Spring Issue
Issue 1, Edition 2 Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois
Dear Supporter,
We believe that when Girl Scouts succeed, so does society. We provide Girl Scouts with a place to discover their passions, find their voice, and make a positive impact in their communities. These Girl Scouts are building a better world for all of us! Help us ensure every Girl Scout in northern Illinois develops the courage, confidence, and character Girl Scouts nurtures. An investment in Girl Scouting is broader than a cause or a cure. It is a commitment to the next generation of self-sufficient and capable trailblazers.
In this Issue... • We’re in Good Spirits with More Brewing Company • A Step Closer to STEM • Trivia Night - Totally! • Ways to Give.
Totally Tubular Trivia Night! About 80 GSNI friends and supporters gathered at Barrington’s White House on Thursday, March 16, for a fun night of 1980s trivia! This fundraiser was held to support STEM programming around the council. With the help of our sponsors and those who attended, we were able to reach our fundraising goal of $8,500! GSNI’s Philanthropy Team would like to thank GSNI Board Members Michael Campbell and Jessica Hirsch, as well as GSNI staff members Becky Staat and Kari Rockwell for purchasing tables, inviting guests, and supporting the entire event through their social media posts. We would also like to thank our generous sponsors—Aqua Aerobics Systems, Laura George Consulting, Gopher Towing, UWHealth, Advancing Global EDU, and Marvin’s Toy Store—for their support of the event and helping to promote STEM programming for Girl Scouts in our council. Additionally, GSNI would like to thank Chicago Trivia Guys—Rachael (a Girl Scout alum) for donating her time to host the live team trivia games and Barrington’s White House for the donation of a lovely space to hold our event!
