Muhammad Waseeq, a skilled tiler and passionateeducator,isaformerstudentof ourcollegewhohastakenhiseducationto the next level. After completing both the Certi�icate III in Wall and Floor Tiling and the Certi�icate IV in Building and Constructionatourcollege,Muhammadis nowavaluedtrainerwhoshareshiswealth of knowledge with the next generation of students."I’veworkedasaWallandFloor Tilerintheconstructionindustryforyears, and during my free time, I explore new techniques and methods to help reduce constructioncostsandwaste,"saysWaseeq. "My focus is on discovering innovative buildingtechniquesthatimproveef�iciency andpro�itabilityfortheindustry."
When Waseeq isn’t busy teaching or workingontilingprojects,heenjoysplaying hockey."Hockeyisanexcellentsportforboth physicalandmentalhealth,"heexplains."It helpsimprovevariousskills,suchasskating,stick handling,andpassing.Plus,it'sasportthatcan beenjoyedatanyage,keepingyou�itforlife."
Having �irsthand experience as a student, Waseequnderstandstheimportanceofreal-world learning. Irfan Aslam
IrfanAslam,oneofourbeststudents in the Certi�icate III in Wall and Floor Tiling,hasbeenwithussinceJune2023 andisapproachingthe�inalstepsofhis course.LivinginAustraliafortwoyears now, he chose the GIC for its vibrant pakistanese community and training facilities,adecisionthat’senrichedboth hispersonalandprofessionalgrowth.
Originally from Pakistan, Irfan has alwaysbeendrawntohands-onwork,and tilingcapturedhisinterestbecauseofits uniquemixofprecisionandcreativity.“I’ve alwayshadapassionforworkingwithmy handsandcreatingsomethingtangible,” he shares. He especially appreciates the visualimpactofwell-executedtilingand �indssatisfactionintransformingspaces. Hisfavoriteaspectofthecoursehasbeen thepracticaltraining,wherehecanapply techniques directly to real surfaces, enhancing both his skills and his con�idence. His unique skill in measurementallowshimtobringfresh, innovativeideastoeachproject.Outside hisstudies,heenjoysplayingsoccer,which helpshimrechargeandreturntohiswork withrenewedenergy.

AdjustingtolifeinAustraliahasn’tcome without challenges, from adapting to a differentlifestyletobalancingworkandstudies.But Irfanhasmanagedthesechallengesbysettingclear goals,managinghistimewell,andseekingsupport from mentors and classmates. A crucial piece of advice he’s received since starting his studies is to alwaysbepatientandprecise—principlesthathe appliesintilingandinlife.
