City of Everett officials and the Kraft Group finalized a "community impact" agreement at the end of last year for a proposed $500 million waterfront soccer and event stadium in Everett, marking a major milestone for Major League Soccer's (MLS) New England Revolution and regional development.

The agreement, announced on December 31, 2025, was hailed as a significant step in advancing plans for a transformative project, including a 24,000-seat stadium and a publicly accessible waterfront park on the former Mystic Generating Station site along the Mystic River, signaling a substantial investment in both sports and community infrastructure. The proposed stadium will provide the Revolution with a dedicated home after decades of playing home matches at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. City leaders and team representatives say the project will deliver various benefits, including environmental cleanup of the site, improved transit access, and economic revitalization for Everett and surrounding communities. It was also announced that the Kraft Group and the city of Boston will include a benefits package valued at $48 million for the next 15 years.

Under terms of the 20-year agreement, the City of Everett will receive an estimated $91.7 million in total community value, delivered through direct payments, infrastructure investments, and other community benefits. This amount is separate from an additional commitment of an estimated $100 million by The Kraft Group dedicated exclusively to environmental cleanup and mitigation at the contaminated former power plant site, subject to permits and approvals required. In addition to mitigation and infrastructure investments, the agreement includes direct financial support generated by stadium operations. The City will receive $2.25 for every ticket sold. Based on current projections, approximately 418,000 soccer tickets and an additional 520,000 event tickets are expected to be sold annually, with all payments reported as revenue to the City’s general fund. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu emphasized that the agreement includes commitments to sustainability and community engagement. Officials also highlighted plans for infrastructure upgrades, such as enhanced public transportation options, to ease congestion around the venue. A week after the community impact agreement, Everett announced a separate agreement with Encore Boston

Harbor to develop new hotels and add an MBTA commuter rail station near the casino, located across the street from the proposed stadium site. The new developments aim to boost local tourism and improve transportation access in the area, accompanying efforts to revitalize the waterfront. Construction is expected to begin later this year, pending final permitting and design approvals.
