For too long, young people have been excluded reproductive justice, despite bearing the brunt of restrictive policies and often leading the movement(s) toward liberation. It’s time that reproductive justice radically centers reproductive liberation for children and youth, especially Black girls and Black LGBTQ+ children and youth. We're passing the mic: drawing inspiration from the 1989 landmark publication, "We Remember: African American Women are for Reproductive Freedom," seven youth organizers gathered to write "We Remember: Black Youth for Reproductive Freedom," redefining reproductive freedom for Black youth in this moment and the 15 demands that must be met to ensure it. At a time when young people are often ignored or shut out of important conversations, we honor and uplift their authentic voices as experts in their own experiences.
