This limited-edition E-MTB combines Giant’s most advanced motor and battery systems with race-proven mountain technologies including Maestro rear suspension and adjustable frame geometry. It was designed and developed in partnership with E-MTB pros from the Giant Factory Off-Road Team including Australian E-bike national champion Josh Carlson.

POWERFUL AND RESPONSIVE

This new SyncDrive Pro motor is the most advanced and powerful motor in the Giant E-bike lineup. With a hill-crushing 85Nm of torque and a 400 percent support ratio, it delivers a dynamic ride experience on all types of terrain. Whether you’re spinning up long, sustained climbs or applying quick bursts of power at low speeds in technical terrain, you get instant engagement that feels smooth and natural. The motor, co-developed with Yamaha, is optimized for the Trance X Advanced E+ LTD chassis and Maestro suspension. Its Smart Assist technology uses six sensors to determine the precise amount of power needed for your riding style and the terrain you are riding. It also has reduced noise levels and a narrow Q-factor for optimized pedaling performance. The motor is powered by the all-new EnergyPak Smart 800 system, which features new battery cell technology that caters to the specific needs of E-bike usage. At the core of this new battery system is a new 22700 cell type, which vastly outperforms the standard 21700 and 18650 cell types found in most E-bikes. The system uses a total of 40 cells, the same as most E-bike batteries, but these larger cells have greater discharge capacity. They also run cooler, which means less stress on the system and a longer total lifecycle.

ADAPTABLE TO THE TERRAIN

Built on a lightweight and stiff Advanced-grade composite frameset with 140mm of rear suspension travel and 150mm up front, the Trance X Advanced E+ LTD offers smooth performance and control on a wide variety of trails. The active, plush rear suspension makes it a highly capable machine that oozes confidence on everything from eye-watering descents to rowdy rock rolls and tight singletrack. The suspension gets an innovative performance boost with the electronically controlled Fox Live Valve system. This fully integrated technology includes sensors that automatically adjust the action of the fork and rear shock, independently and within milliseconds, as the terrain changes. It offers multiple suspension modes that are easy to adjust on the fly or with the Fox Live Valve smart phone app. The Trance X Advanced E+ LTD also gives riders the ability to adjust the frame geometry to suit the terrain they are riding. A flip chip located on the rear suspension linkage lets you quickly change the head tube and seat tube angles, along with the bottom bracket height, between two different positions. The high position is recommended for tighter, more technical terrain. It gives the E-bike a steeper head angle for quick handling and a steeper seat tube angle that puts the rider in a more aggressive climbing position. The low position is ideal for faster, more open terrain. It adjusts to a slacker head angle and places the front wheel a bit farther out in front of the rider for faster, more open terrain. The low position also lowers the center of gravity, making it feel more stable at higher speeds. In addition to adjustable frame geometry, the Trance X Advanced E+ also features a SRAM Reverb AXS dropper seatpost, which makes it easy to change saddle height on the go using a wireless electronic remote button that’s mounted on the handlebar.

INTEGRATED COCKPIT

The all-new Contact SLR Trail Integrated handlebar/stem unit offers adjustability, compliance, light weight and a clean, simple profile. Weighing just 225 grams, it has all the advantages of a one-piece bar and stem but with the adjustability of a conventional setup. Riders can set it to their desired stem length (40mm, 45mm or 50mm) and rotate the bar to achieve the angle they want. A proprietary carbon fiber layup and slimmer profile near the center of the handlebar adds compliance. This helps absorb shocks and vibrations, reducing arm pump and improving hand comfort on rugged terrain. There are two control centers on the Trance X Advanced E+ LTD. The RideControl Go button, cleanly integrated into the top tube of the frameset, allows riders to quickly and easily turn the power on and off and switch between power modes. Colored LED lights indicate the battery level and support mode. The second control unit, RideControl Ergo 3, is integrated with the handlebar grips. With three buttons, it can be installed on either the left or right side and can be configured to the rider’s own personal preferences. You can also connect and mount a second RideControl Ergo 3 unit on the opposite side of the bars. The minimalist design makes it easy to personalize and adjust features such as walk-assist mode and lights.

At the core of every Giant E-bike is an integrated group of technologies that forms its operating system. These user-friendly components and technologies—including motors, control units and battery packs—are made to function as part of the overarching system that seamlessly combines electric power with human power to produce a smart, natural and powerful ride experience.

SMART

Giant’s RideControl units make it easy to control everything on your E-bike in a simple, intuitive way. While riding, you can view critical data such as battery life, speed, distance and GPS. The control unit can also be used to record your ride, navigate routes, pursue fitness goals and view system data. RideControl also makes it easy to switch power modes while you ride. In addition to riding functions, you can connect the display units wirelessly to the Ride Control app and configure the controller to your personal preferences.

NATURAL

yncDrive motors use up to six sensors to automatically detect pedaling cadence and force along with speed and S motor rotation. The motor delivers power based on a rider’s input and the chosen support mode. This motorized support blends seamlessly with a rider’s input, so it feels smooth and natural. Giant E-bikes also feature SmartAssist, an automatic adaptive support mode that maximizes efficiency by delivering the right amount of power you need, exactly when you need it.

High Performance Grade raw carbon fiber is used to produce custom composite material in our composite factory. Extremely lightweight, stiff and compliant, these handcrafted frames feature the following materials and processes.

ENERGYPAK SMART 800

This integrated 800Wh battery system is purpose-built for the specific needs of E-bike usage. At the core of this new technology is the groundbreaking new 22700 cell type, which vastly outperforms the 21700 and 18650 cells found in most E-bikes. The numbers refer to the physical size of the lithium-ion cells. With increased density, reduced weight, and a higher volume that helps it run cooler, the new 22700 cell is ideally suited to the demands of high-performance E-bikes. The system uses a total of 40 cells, the same as most E-bike batteries, but these larger cells have greater discharge capacity. They also run cooler, which means less stress on the system and a longer total lifecycle. Built with a sturdy aluminum casing, the EnergyPak Smart 800 is rated for safety and impact resistance according to the highest test standards in the industry. It’s also a modular system that allows previous generation systems, including the EnergyPak 500 and EnergyPak 625, to be swapped out and upgraded to this new 800Wh system. The new EnergyPak Smart 800 also marks the launch of Giant’s new CO2 neutral battery production. As part of its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of battery usage and production, Giant has taken a leadership position as the first manufacturer to use E-bike batteries from a CO2 neutral plant.

RIDECONTROL ERGO 3

This updated control system features clean buttons that are integrated with the handlebar grips. You can install the three-button control on the left or right side, making it easy to switch power modes. You also have the option of adding a second control on the other side. Using the RideControl App, you can configure it to your own personal preferences.

RIDECONTROL GO

This all-new multipurpose control button is integrated into the top tube of the Trance X Advanced E+ LTD. It features an on/off button and colored LED lights to indicate support mode and battery level. With RideControl Go, there is no need for external wiring or additional handlebar-mounted control units.

SYNCDRIVE PRO

The Trance X Advanced E+ LTD comes with the newest iteration of the SyncDrive Pro motor. It is co-developed with Yamaha and optimized for the Trance X Advanced E+ LTD chassis and its Maestro suspension. It has a compact shape, and at just 2.7kg it’s lighter than the previous generation motor. This new SyncDrive Pro motor also delivers increased torque output (85Nm) with reduced noise levels while retaining its instant engagement and narrow Q-factor for ideal pedaling performance.

ADJUSTABLE GEOMETRY

A flip chip located on the Maestro rear suspension linkage allows riders to quickly adjust frame geometry to suit the terrain they are riding. The high position is recommended for slower, tighter, more technical terrain. It offers a steeper head angle for quick handling and a steeper seat tube angle to put the rider in a more aggressive climbing position. The low position is ideal for faster, more open terrain. It adjusts to a slacker head angle and places the front wheel a bit farther out in front of the rider for more confidence on steeper terrain. The low position also lowers the center of gravity, making the E-bike feel more stable at higher speeds.

SMART ASSIST

Smart Assist is an automatic adaptive support mode. This intelligent system uses six sensors and advanced algorithms to determine the optimum power support needed on variable terrain. Smart Assist also maximizes efficiency by not using unnecessary energy. And since it always delivers just the right amount of pedaling support, it also improves rider efficiency.

1 ADVANCED COMPOSITE

High-performance grade raw carbon material is used to produce this custom frame material with a high stiffness-to-weight ratio. The front triangle is assembled and molded as one continuous piece in a proprietary manufacturing process called Modified Monocoque Construction.

ENERGYPAK SMART 800

this compact motor is now lighter (2.7kg) with increased torque output (up to 85Nm) and significantly reduced noise levels.

9 SMARTASSIST

Six smart sensors precisely measure the power being applied to the pedals so

the motor can provide just the right amount of assistance to create a natural, powerful riding experience. This helps optimize energy efficiency for both the rider and the battery system.

10 RIDECONTROL APP

RideControl Ergo wirelessly connects with the RideControl App so your

smart phone can function as a display for ride data and system updates.

11 FOX LIVE VALVE

Electronically controlled suspension system features sensors that
