THE PRESIDENT’S VISION STATEMENT (Junior College) In its Vision 2029, GMC will be a nationally recognized leader providing a character-based higher education, improving students’ personal well-being, and giving hope for a brighter future. The vision is achieved by being accessible to any student desiring a character-based college-level education, being the best two-year college in the state of Georgia and among the top five in the nation, being nationally recognized as a “best value” college, being recognized as a military friendly school, being nationally recognized as a leader in the innovation and delivery of individual learning support services, being nationally recognized as a leader in the innovation of programs, and by increasing scholarship endowments to make education affordable.
The clock struck midnight at the end of 2019 and we welcomed 2020 with hopeful anticipation of what the new year would bring. What started as a normal year, quickly changed as the COVID-19 pandemic hit us head-on. Like others, our way of life was altered in the blink of an eye and suddenly, everything we knew to be true was put into question. At a time when our country faced uncertainty at every turn, Georgia Military College clung to our core values and our purpose to provide a character-based education for students in elementary school through the collegiate level.
FROM THE PRESIDENT
After following Governor Brian Kemp’s mandate in March 2020 to close all public schools and move students to remote learning through the end of the school year, GMC made the brave decision to reopen our Prep School for in-seat education for summer school in June. After a successful small-scale trial, we were able to safely bring back hundreds of students for summer athletic camps and conditioning. Subsequently, in early August we welcomed all of our students back to in-person learning at GMC Prep School and at each of our college campuses throughout the state, including our Corps of Cadets who live on campus. We are proud to say that we were one of the first institutions, if not the only one, to do this in the state of Georgia. Late American military hero and Army General Douglas McArthur once stated, “A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.” Our WILLIAM B. CALDWELL IV LIEUTENANT GENERAL, U.S. ARMY (RET.) institutional leaders followed these words and put our students first by establishing measures that would enable us to provide in-seat education for everyone, while also ensuring the health of all of our students, faculty, and staff; and in doing so created a safe learning environment for all. To accomplish all of this, GMC implemented our Five-Step Program across every campus which models our values as an institution, teaching respect and selfresponsibility for all members of our GMC family. Our Five-Step Program consists of staying home when not feeling well; temperature gauges at the entry of each campus building – no one may enter with a fever; enhanced cleaning and new state of the art sanitation technology, especially in every air filtration system; respect and courtesy taught as GMC values; and practicing etiquette and self-responsibility. Through the success of our Five-Step Program and the cooperation from our faculty, staff, and students, we have had minimal COVID numbers and continued with our mission of producing educated citizens and contributing members of society. Georgia Military College continues to function normally, with students flourishing on our campuses throughout Georgia, along with our remote learning and online classes. We are grateful for the teamwork which enabled us to fulfill this mission. Through all the trials of the year, GMC remained focused on delivering student success. I am incredibly proud of our GMC Family and the work we’ve done and pleased to report the state of the college is financially sound. In our 142 years of education, we are more excited now than ever for the future of Georgia Military College. We are growing, we are thriving, and we are planning for the future of this great institution, ensuring it will continue to be a staple in the education of our nation’s future leaders.

NewDay USA is the lead donor, with a gift of $2 million to the project, which will be a single story, freestanding building encompassing approximately 28,937 square feet. It will include an 820-seat theater and several classrooms for GMC students. The Center will house the NewDay USA Leadership Speaker Series, the NewDay USA Performing Arts Concert Series, and GMC Performing Arts. “The NewDay USA Center for Leadership will become recognized as a place where world class leaders from public service, the military, business, sports, and the arts come together to share their experiences and ideas on leadership,” said NewDay USA Founder and CEO, Rob Posner. “Our partnership with GMC, its preparatory school, and their incredible faculty will contribute to developing our nation’s future generations of leaders.” The NewDay USA Foundation is the philanthropic arm of NewDay USA. Since 2013, the Foundation has donated over $7 million dollars towards scholarships for children of veterans. NewDay USA has partnered with GMC Prep School on various philanthropic activities since 2016. The NewDay Foundation has awarded 35 scholarships to GMC Prep School students covering 100% of school tuition through the NewDay USA Allan B. Posner and the difference they are making in the lives of our students,” said Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV (USA, Ret.), President of Georgia Military College. “Creating a Center for Leadership on our campus will have an enduring positive impact for our school for generations to come.”

There are many ways to support GMC. Gifts may be unrestricted in use, or you may designate your gift to a particular program or purpose. However you choose to support GMC, you will be embarking on a partnership with an institution that, through development of both the intellect and the character of its students, impacts lives in positive and lasting ways. There are almost as many ways of giving as there are programs, projects and priorities of the College that need your support.
Endowed Gift Opportunities A gift for endowment demonstrated farsighted commitment to Georgia Military College. Endowments are permanent funds, maintained in perpetuity by the GMC Foundation, from which only a portion of the annual investment return is used for the purpose intended by the donor. The rest of the investment yield is returned to the principal. Thus, over the years, the fund can grow with the goal of keeping pace with inflation. Such endowments, which typically bear the name of the donor or donors, reflect your interests and serve as an enduring testament to your generosity. Additional gifts may be made to the fund to increase the principal and thereby increase the annual investment income. Endowments represent rewarding gift opportunities because they offer the donor the satisfaction of knowing that his or her gift will continue working for future generations.
The Basics of Establishing an Endowment • An endowed fund may be established with a contribution in the form of cash, appreciated securities or other charitable gifts such as a bequest.
Unrestricted When you do not restrict the use of your gift, you allow flexibility in meeting needs. These funds are managed prudently and applied where they will be most beneficial to meet a variety of current needs.
Programs & Services Gifts may be designated to any of the wide variety of programs and services offered by Georgia Military College. Perhaps there is a particular area, such as library enrichment, technology, athletics, or an academic department in which you have an interest. Such gifts will be applied in their entirety to the area of your designation.
Special Initiatives If you choose to, you may designate your financial assistance to any of several initiatives undertaken by the Foundation through partnering with the school’s leadership to identify special priorities for giving.
• It may be established with either a single gift of $25,000 or a gift of at least $5,000 and a pledge of the remaining $20,000 over a period of up to five years. • The fund is invested by the GMC Foundation, which serves as a steward of the endowed funds. The Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Purposes of Endowed Funds • An endowed gift offers the opportunity for donors to have their names, or the name of a loved one, linked to an area in which they have a special interest, creating a legacy for years to come. • A named endowment can provide an opportunity for an academic department or an athletic program to grow and excel. • A named endowment can provide a scholarship to aid deserving students year after year.
Endowment Reporting As a donor who has established an endowment, you will receive an annual report from the GMC Foundation on the financial status of the fund, including earnings and distributions.
Oak Leaf Society The Oak Leaf Society recognizes alumni and friends who have included the GMC Foundation in their estate plans. Their gifts for the College’s future are made through wills, trusts and charitable gift annuities, or by naming the GMC Foundation as the beneficiary of life insurance policies, retirement fund accounts, or other financial instruments. The generosity of these legacy donors ensures that the mission of Georgia Military College will continue to be fulfilled for years to come. Since its founding in 1955, The Georgia Military College Foundation, Inc. has existed to support the character-based educational mission of Georgia Military College. It is through the tremendous generosity of our alumni and friends, that the Foundation is able to support the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of GMC students, ensuring that they have every opportunity to succeed in life. For over 142 years, Georgia Military College has never wavered in its mission of producing educated citizens and contributing members of society. The Foundation is proud to stand in support of this mission, and we believe our state and nation are the better for the graduates who have walked these halls. Last year we reported that the Foundation navigated the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, and emerged stronger and more financially sound than the prior fiscal year. Most importantly, when it counted most, the Foundation increased its financial support to GMC to assist students to remain enrolled during the COVID-19 crisis. You need look no further than the record 1,992 degrees awarded to see the impact donor support made. On behalf of our Foundation Board of Trustees, I am pleased to

report that the state of the Foundation is strong. Our most recent fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, saw continued growth in operating revenue and disbursements to the College, and a year-over-year increase in overall net assets. Amidst the second year of the pandemic, 3,102 gifts were received totaling $7,749,182. Our total net assets increased by 43% to $42,947,377 and up significantly over the prior fiscal year. Because of your generosity, we were able to disperse $1,208,845 to help our students with scholarships. On behalf of the Foundation, I want to personally thank you for the difference you have made in the lives of the students GMC serves. Your support is really a gift in the future of our great state and nation. And for that we are grateful.

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS and FUNDS The Georgia Military College Foundation gratefully acknowledges the generosity of donors to the following funds that are either building toward endowment or fully endowed, with individual market values of $25,000 to more than $1.5 million each. An endowed fund represents a “perpetual gift.” Income from the invested fund is used to fulfill the intended purpose, and any income in excess of the award is returned to the principal to grow the fund. An investment of $25,000 will establish an endowed fund and may be completed over a five-year period.

THE PRESIDENT’S MISSION STATEMENT The mission of Georgia Military College (GMC) is to produce educated citizens and contributing members of society in an environment conducive to the development of the intellect and character of its students, regardless of location or method of delivery. Junior College students are offered a liberal arts-based, two-year undergraduate curriculum designed to support student attainment of an associate degree and prepare students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Students with an Associate of Applied Science degree are offered a curriculum designed to support student attainment of a Bachelor of Applied Science degree. For selected college students who enroll in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), and for preparatory school students in the Junior ROTC program, GMC includes a leadership development and education component.
