The Objective of this project was to remodel the College of Fine and Applied Arts office. This college contains seven different departments including Applied Design, Art, Communications, Military Science and Leadership, Sustainable Development, Sustainable Technology and Built Environment, and lastly Theatre and Dance.

Inspiring Travels Travels Office

Concept: Inspiring Travels The College of Fine and Applied Arts takes pride in the success of their students and the travels that they take in their future and their time at Appalachian State University. This idea of traveling is inspiring for both students and faculty. Inspiration is defined as the process of being stimulated to do or feel something creative. With that being said, the faculty is inspired by the creativity of students and the students are inspired by the surroundings of wherever their travels take them. To be inspired, it is important to work in an environment that will stimulate creativity.

Challenge The challenge of this project was trying to navigate through my first real assignment for studio. There was a lot of trial and error through SketchUp. Other challenges included: -Reconstructing a confusing layout -Small space for many people

Tower Restaurant The Objective of this project was to design a Southern Indian food restaurant, Tower. They are strictly Southern Indian vegetarian cuisine. Most of the dishes are also gluten-free and vegan.

Concept: Annapurna The intent of this design is to represent Tower in the best way by focusing on what the core of the restaurant is, food. Annapurna is the goddess of food and she will be centered on all aspects of the design. Elements from her including colors, food utensils, and form are important elements of Annapurna and will be seen throughout the entire space.

Challenge The challenge of this project was working with a small space. I needed to make sure that the place looked inviting but first and foremost, functional.

PAVE Student Competition For 2020, PAVE collaborated with SketchUp for the student competition. The goal of this project was to create a pop-up space that gave users a SketchUp experience.

Concept: Where Physical Meets Virtual The concept Where Physical Meets Virtual represents the reality becoming fantasy or a virtual world. It represents users going from everyday life to the virtual world of SketchUp and the many things that the program offers. The shapes used throughout the space, such as circles and squares, represent the pixels that make up a computer image. The closer the “pixels” come together, the more an idea comes forms. When the “pixels” are farther apart, it means the idea is still in reality waiting to come alive in the virtual world. Curvilinear forms are the directions that ideas go in, one idea flowing through another to eventually become one.

Challenge The challenge of this project was creating a retail design that was mobile. The entire structure had to have the ability of taking it apart and transporting it with a semi-truck. The biggest challenge of all was making this space COVID-19 friendly. The space could only be 1200 sq. ft., which made designing that much more difficult.

While we all worked together on the layout of the unit, I was in charge of designing the Signature Space Room as well as a Decentralized Nurse Station. My goal for the Signature Space was to design on the idea that it was not going to look like a regular hospital. Since healthcare design is something I’m passionate about, I wanted this space to exude joy and creativity. An area were patients and visitors can escape the realities they

Pediatric Oncology Unit

Concept: Artist’s Toolbox The Pediatric Oncology Unit was a collaborative studio. My group and I’s healthcare design was created with a mission for patients to feel as though they have the power to create whatever they find imaginable, no matter the location. This was the purpose to our concept and what impacted our space.

Challenge The challenge of this project was creating a space that would speak to the user. It was important for the design to be creative and fun. Another challenge was starting from a clean slate. There was no shell of a previous building to use so groups had to create the structure and floor plans by scratch.

To Infinity and Beyond The Objective of this project was to design a commercial office space for SpaceX. This office was another branch being built in Florida.

Concept Images

Concept SpaceX represents a company who can think of the impossible and achieve it. So often is the phrase to "infinity and beyond" used, but what is it really getting at? SpaceX is delving into the beyond to find the infinity. In finding the infinity, SpaceX leaves the clouds and the birds of Earth and travels to the nebulas and stars of space.

The challenge of this project was trying to figure out the ways of Revit. This was the first project that I did in Revit so there was a lot to learn.

The Objective of this project was to design a kiosk for Water For People, which is a non-profit organization that works to provide safe drinking water and sanitation services for people who do not have clean water. The idea for this was that Walt Disney World, Orlando would greatly benefit Water For People due to the huge following of people they have been able to attract. Kiosks can be set up in all four parks and can stand out by tying Moana in with Water For People since the movie is heavily based with water.

Water For People Kiosk

New logo for this kiosk

Concept: Waves In the mission statement for Water For People, they mention wanting to create strong committees. Waves of the sea are incredibly strong and powerful, which embodies Water For People. Water For People has a huge impact, just like waves do, to many individuals because they provide safe water for them to use.

Comfort Home The Objective of this project was to design a 2,891 sq/ft two-story home for a family of three, a single mom with two daughters. This family lives in a suburb of Chicago, Crystal Lake, that has a very flat terrain.

Concept One of the most important elements of a home is how someone will feel in it and comfort can be crucial in making a space function well. Coming home to an inviting space can help people relax and unwind from their busy lives. Big fluffy blankets, cozy couches, warm lighting, and calm colors all work together in this design to create a comfortable environment.

Challenge The challenge of this project was learning the in and outs of Residential Design.
