Geauga Foundation Marks Nearly 30 years, $1.7M in Scholarships Submitted A Geauga County scholarship foundation honoring two brothers who died in separate accidents before they could begin their college educations will mark nearly three decades of giving at its annual fundraiser next month. The Yoder Brothers Foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million in scholarships since 1997 to students from Cardinal, Berkshire and Chardon high schools pursuing fouryear degrees or trade and technical training. The foundation also has supported capital projects in youth sports and recreation. Joshua Allen Yoder, a Cardinal High School baseball standout, was weeks shy of his 18th birthday when he died in an auto accident in 1996 shortly after graduation. Seven years later, his brother, Tyler Gabriel Yoder, died in a separate accident at age 18. Their grandfather, the late Jack Menosky, established the Yoder Brothers Memorial Scholarship Foundation in their memory. The foundation now distributes more than $80,000 annually in renewable scholarships. The foundation’s 7th Annual Reverse Raffle is set for July 17 at Generations Event & Reception Center in Chester Township. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $80 and include dinner, open bar, entertainment and an entry for a $5,000 grand prize. A fishbowl raffle and silent auction also are planned. For those unable to attend, an online auction runs July 10-17 at givebutter.com/2026YBFonline, featuring a private Bahamas beach house stay, a Tennessee mountain cabin rental, BananaBall tickets and Cleveland museum and hotel packages, among other items. Event tickets are available at givebutter.com/2026YBFraffle. For sponsorship or donation inquiries, contact the foundation at yoderbrothersfoundation@gmail.com.
