In this year of cancellation after cancellation of car shows and other gearhead events, the cruise-in has risen to the top of the list as something we can all go to if we choose, to get our gearhead fix.

In this year of the disappearing car shows (thanks Coronavirus), your local cruise-in’s have become a great place to get a car fix. Rod Shows, the producer of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Grand National Roadster Show and the O’Reilly Auto Parts Sacramento Autorama, today announced the rescheduling of the 2021 Grand National Roadster Show to May 14-16, 2021 and the 2021 Sacramento Autorama to April 9-11, 2021 as a result of logistical challenges stemming from the coronavirus pandemic. Both popular hot rod shows have run continuously, without cancellation, in their over seven-decade history.

AUG 2020: AUG 22: GREENVILLE TN: 5th Annual Sundown on Depot: This event will return to historic downtown Greeneville with a new location, Main Street. Cars, trucks and bikes of all makes and models are invited to cruise in to downtown, fill Main Street, and enjoy the day. Food trucks and concession vendors will be offering their fare. Hours of Sundown are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. New to the show will be the awarding of Cool Pick and Specialty Awards. These awards are supplied by Bachman Bernard, Gateway Ford, Black Label Coatings, Harrison’s Rod & Custom, and Brabb Gregg. The first 200 registered participants will receive a dash plaque. There will also be door prizes and cash prizes. Registration is $10 per vehicle. AUG 22: MT OLIVE AL: Southeast Gassers in Alabama!: Lassiter Mountain Dragway dates back to 1958 as it was cut into the ridge of Lassiter Mountain by a local car club. A frequently visited venue by the king himself, Richard Petty as he and Plymouth once tried their hand at drag racing. As our fans are well aware, Aug 22nd will be a day that we will return Lassiter Mtn back to those glory days of the original gasser era. All four speeds, all straight axle gas classes along with 1960’s Super Stock and A/FX! All heads-up, first to the finish line, single elimination championship drag racing! The Grand National Roadster show held each year in Pomona CA, is made up of some â€œminiâ€? events within the big event. One of those is the GRAND DADDY DRIVE IN. Held on Saturday & Sunday while the GNRS is going on, it is a outdoor car show within the big show.

Each year approximately 850 pre-72 vehicles enter the fairground very early in the morning and get set up all around the buildings the show is held in. Saturday is the big day but Sunday sees many cars return for day two,. Just like other outdoor shows, awards are handed out by the GNRS staff to the favorite picks. Pre-registration for Saturday is a must as it sells out each year. Check out just some of the great vehicles that were part of this years Grand Daddy Drive In. For 2021, the GNRS will be in May so make your plans now to be part of it or at it...you will be glad you did. 40
