Memorial Day weekend is upon us...where did the first 5 months o 2020 go!
When someone goes into the military service for our country, they in effect sign a blank check, with their life on the line. The do this knowing full well at any time, their life may be taken.
For many people, Memorial Day signals the unofficial start of summer, even though it really is official on June 21st.
Memorial Day HONORS all those who have paid the ultimate price, so that we remain a FREE NATION. We can never say thank you enough to them.
To many the Memorial Day holiday means bar-b-ques, family gatherings and an extra day off for many of us.
While you are enjoying whatever you are doing on Monday May 25th, please take at least a few moments and say a prayer for all of those brave souls who have protected us and paid that terrible price.
Gearheads may even try to take in a cruise in or car event (please be safe in these times!) with their cool ride or just to spectate. Memorial Day is more than all the BBQ’s and other things that go on during the weekend. It’s a day of remembrance and honor for some very special people in our country’s history.
I know I am very thankful for them...everyday...and I SALUTE THESE HERO’s...ALWAYS! Live It Fully Everyday

2020 Chevrolet Corvette on nitrous break the 200-mph barrier American tuner Hennessey built this 205-mph 'Vette Stock and unfettered by driving laws, the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette has a top speed of 194 mph. Texan tuner Hennessey saw this number as a challenge, so it pushed the model beyond the 200-mph barrier for the first time.
The firm sent engineer and racer John Heinricy to the Continental Tire Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas, with a modified Corvette in tow. The mechanical changes included adding nitrous boost and a stainless steel exhaust system to generously increase the 6.2-liter V8 engine's output from 490 to 650 horsepower. Hennessey also removed the Corvette's rear wing to reduce drag before letting it loose on the facility's 8.5-mile main track. Heinricy — who played a role in developing several Corvette variants before he retired from General Motors — reached a GPS-verified 205 mph, a figure that makes Hennessey's hot-rodded Corvette the fastest eighth-generation model yet. The high-speed run allowed the tuner to push its newest exhaust system to the limit.
Hennessey won't stop at 205 mph. In 2019, the tuner announced plans to offer a supercharger that unlocks 700 horsepower, and a twin-turbocharger setup that gives enthusiasts 1,200 horsepower to play with. Achieving the latter number requires making modifications to the engine to help it cope with the power, and installing an upgraded version of the stock dual-clutch automatic transmission. Pricing hasn't been announced yet. Chevrolet isn't sitting still, either. It's keeping details about future Corvette variants close to its chest, but leaked documents outline several upcoming variants ranging from a 600horsepower Grand Sport to a gasoline-electric, Zora-branded model with at least 1,000 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque on tap.

Holley’s Inaugural All-Mopar Bash To Invade Beech Bend Sept. 18-20! With established and highly successful events for the GM LS and Ford markets in place, the team at Holley Performance Products needed only a Chrysler event in its lineup to complete the big-three trifecta, and it has announced just that with the unveiling of the inaugural Moparty at the Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Moparty will take place September 18-20, and much like its other brand-specific bashes, will feature a wide range of event segments and special attractions, including the well-known Grand Champion and Autocross competitions, drag racing, a dyno challenge, an Australian-style burnout contest and plenty more. Preregistration for Moparty is open now! Holley’s Moparty is open to any vehicle with a Mopar powerplant, whether it’s a classic Bbody or a late model Charger or Challenger. Chrysler engine swaps into custom rat rod or other vehicles are also invited to join the party…or rather, the Moparty! We’re out to set the bar high on the inaugural Holley Moparty, and the event wouldn’t be complete if there wasn’t a Dodge Charger flying through the air! That’s right, James Smith will be attending Moparty all the way from Appleton, WA, to jump a General Lee right smack dab in the middle of Beech Bend’s oval track! The autocross is a great way to test the abilities of both car and driver. The 3S Challenge puts your ability to Speed, Stop, and Steer your Mopar to the test! Drivers had better be proficient at all three if they hope to be competitive in this event segment. Holley is looking to crown a Holley Mopar Grand Champion at Holley’s Moparty! The Grand Champion competitor who can do the best all-around job on the autocross, the 3S Challenge and on the dragstrip will be crowned the winner. There are three classes for Grand Champion competition at Moparty: Late Model, Vintage, and Truck. Have you built a Mopar that is second to none? Whether you’ve got an amazing early model Challenger or D100 pickup, Holley’s Moparty will deliver one of the best car shows for Mopar enthusiasts on earth! Holley has put together a number of wheelie inducing drag classes for the inaugural Moparty. The Redneck Rumble
If it’s the middle of September, then it’s time for a favorite event for gearheads in the MidSouth and beyond. The Rumble draws in folks from ALL OVER! The REDNECK RUMBLE is one of those shows/events that just gets better and better with age. 2019 saw “The Rumble” turned 15 in 2019 and it’s come a long way! 20

and you will see a lot more than just rat rods spread out over the fairgrounds. Hot Rods, Street Rods, Customs, cool trucks and some bitchin motorcycles too. Cars, trucks and motorcycles are on display in all levels of being built to show quality shiny. 21
The fairgrounds recently completed a huge building, which the Rumble uses for showing vehicles inside it, along with vendors. This makes a nice get out of the sun break for many.
Continue walking the fairgrounds checking out all the cool rides, and you can stop in at all the vendors woven in between vehicles on display. Not only are their “car type� vendors but plenty for the lady hot rodders too. Plenty of food vendors on hand to feed everyone with all kinds of great chow.
Many gearheads at the show take the time to cruise thru the swap meet. They are looking for that special part for their next build or possible enough to build that 22

rat rod they have designed in their head. Another great feature of the Rumble is all the live music playing all weekend long. Rock-a-Billy music keeps everyone’s toes tapping of even folks dancing at the stage area when the bands are playing. For the many time attendees of the Rumble, its has become like a family reunion every September. Since camping on the grounds is allowed, many participants set up together to be able to enjoy each other along with the show. Long after the show has closed for the day, there still is a festive mood all around until late in the night or even early in the morning! Congratulations goes out to Tom Williams and his Redneck Rumble staff for another killer event. They work hard at making sure everyone has a good time. Make your plans now to be at the 2020 Redneck Rumble coming up this September. 25

The cruise-in is going to be very informal and you can come and go as you please. There is plenty of space you can park and keep whatever distance you need to feel safe. The museum is a self-guided, hands-free tour so we believe you should be safe enough inside the museum. Obviously, if you are sick we'd love for you to visit some other time. The museum is inside of the rear Antique Mall entrance on the left side of the Old Clarkesville Mill. Look for the old 47 Chevy next to the entrance. The museum has the same hours as the Antique Mall and will be open 7 days a week from 11 to 6. Admission can be purchased through the Antique Mall. We are going to do a soft opening May 23rd. (One week before the Official Grand Re Opening) There won't be anything special going on other than we will be open for those who want to start being able to visit.
