THE MAGAZINE ROOM
This month we bring you some sad news. This will be the last month that you will be reading my editorial and reading this publication. That s right you heard me, after 13 years we are closing the doors. April Fools, FOOLS! Are you kidding me, we are not going anywhere except up. This past month we hired an Advertising National Sales Manager named Eric Meckes. Eric has been involved in the automotive industry including owning his own business for several years. So if you re interested in doing some advertising Eric is your man. Just click on contact us and we will send him your way. This month we bring to you Southeast Showdown in North Carolina photographer Kent Williams covered the track from turn to turn. Next Brad Walker caught up with Aaron Vaccar and his 2010 Ford Fusion Sport while at last year s Slamology. Aaron has built multiple cars for SEMA and can be seen on the Auto Life Tour . Our next show stop was back in the corn fields of Indiana for Camp-N-Drag produced by Bill and the boys at Ballistic C.C. Ryan Hartley, BLT and I were on hand covering the show and the Gauge Magazine sponsored Bikini Contest. Heading out to Pennsylvania photographer Mike Butry spent the weekend at The Carlisle All Truck Nationals. This show has everything from Mini Trucks to Semis and is always a good time. This month s cover vehicle comes to you from Boitnott Customs in Fairfield, Ohio. It s a 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Convertible owned by Matt Neubert. This Judge is clean as hell and when seen in person you will not find a flaw. Our April Gauge Girl is the Hot and Tatted Lindsay Marie. Special thanks to Spade Made for the lead on one of their 2012 Calendar Models. She is a sweetheart! For feature vehicles this month we start in the far north at Showoff Showdownin Minnesota where BLT and I shot this bad ass 1988 Chevrolet S-10 owned by Matt Coulthurst. Our resident photographer and west coast pirate Chromey was at last year s Last Call the Bradley Lang Memorial show out in Las Vegas. Glad to see everyone help keep a memory alive. While at the Last Call show Chromey and Cheri had the chance to meet up and shoot Randy Cothran of Performance Motorsports 1 BAD LAC a 1966 Cadillac. This baby is bad to the bone and belongs on the Vegas Strip. Last but not least Michelle Robinson shot us coverage of the West Side Picnic. This is one of the last true Lowrider events in the Midwest with bumper to bumper hydraulic competitions. Don t forget SLAMOLOGY is only a few months away. Make sure to pre-register and save $20.00. With that money you save you can buy the Gauge staff a beer or two. HINT! HINT! The Venue change to Lucas Oil Raceway should boost the attendance making it our largest show ever.We guarantee this is a show not to miss in 2012.
