One small step for Rosie, one big step for special care baby unit
Four year old Rosie has overcome a difficult, premature start in life, in part thanks to the support of Gateshead’s Special Care Baby Unit. This year, she will take on the Mini Great North Run for the second time to support babies like her.
Rosie had to go to the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) immediately after birth, while her mum was transferred to the Post Natal Ward to recover from her major surgery. To read more about Rosie visit our website for the full article.
Rosie was born seven weeks early after her mam, Claire underwent an emergency caesarean section.
