Gary Perron

Gary Perron has built a respected career in Canada’s investment sector, spanning more than four decades of consistent leadership, independent strategy, and measurable results. His work has included private wealth asset management, service on public company boards, and the founding of both public and private businesses that have achieved long-term success. He has served as CEO, managing director, portfolio manager, and business founder, influencing the evolution of independent wealth advisory in Western Canada. His approach has shaped how firms prioritize client alignment, uphold accountability, and maintain operational independence. His career began in 1977 at BMO Nesbitt Burns (and predecessor Burns Fry) in Calgary, where he spent 36 years refining an investment philosophy centered on discipline, adaptability, and accountability. In the 1990s, he co-founded a boutique fund management company in Calgary that expanded nationally, with offices in Calgary and Toronto. The firm earned a reputation for strong returns and efficiency, rivaling bank-run investment houses. In 2013, he launched Perron & Partners Wealth Management (PPWM) to serve high-net-worth individuals, family offices, foundations, and business owners. Independent from big banks, the firm offered tailored advice and launched the long-performing Kipling Funds. In 2017, he co-founded a marina and dealership group that has grown into Canada’s largest freshwater network, with 20 marinas and 11 dealerships. This venture highlights his ability to guide large-scale, asset-based operations beyond traditional capital markets.
