Suffield native fares well in luge at Olympics

SUFFIELD — Olympic luger Emily Fischnaller, who grew up in Suffield, turned in one of the strongest performances of her career at the 2026 Winter Olympics, finishing 12th in the women’s singles competition and continuing a remarkable journey defined by perseverance, resilience and elite-level achievement. Fischnaller began her luge career at age 10 after being identified during a USA Luge “slider search” program in Rhode Island. She quickly rose through the sport’s ranks and made her debut on the FIL World Cup circuit at just 16. Her Olympic path nearly began even earlier;
