NEW HAVEN — Avelo Airlines has been recapitalized and its cash position is now one of the strongest in the U.S. airline industry relative to its size, according to industry experts. The airline will use this cash and balance sheet strength to execute its long-term strategy, with emphasis on further developing a key base at Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN). Connecticut has played and will continue to play a defining role in Avelo’s network. Avelo will continue to operate a six aircraft base at HVN without major changes to the existing network or to its crewmember employment base at the airport.
