NEW FROM THE TAPESTRY COMMITTEE!

Tales Tapestry

Tapestry Tales 2026 is a new opportunity for residents to read with intention and enjoy meaningful exchanges each third Thursday of the month. You are welcome to join in for all books or for those that most interest you. These readings have been carefully selected to introduce a variety of Pennsylvania authors, many from Lancaster County, and to explore new genres. Most importantly, the list was compiled so that we might hear from the variety of voices that make up the “tapestry” of life in Lancaster County and other parts of Pennsylvania.

January (two shorter options – read one or both)

• Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended a Tragedy – Kraybill, Nolt and Weaver

• Forgiven: The Amish School Shooting, A Mother’s Love, and a Story of Remarkable Grace – Terri Roberts

February

• The Journey of An Old White Dude in the Age of Black Lives Matter: A Primer – John R. Gerdy

March

• Yon Far Country: A Social and Personal Memoir of Lancaster County – Sara Stambaugh

We hope many of you will read along and reflect with us in 2026. Conversations will be in the Theater on the third Thursdays at 3:30pm. Most of these books are available online, or through ELANCO Library. Some are also in the GSV Library.

Our thanks to Anna D’Agostino, former director of ELANCO Library, for her skilled research and generous purchasing as she assisted the Tapestry Committee.
