We are in the final stages of construction of our new pickle ball and tennis courts and provided that the last construction tasks go as planned, we will be opening this new amenity for your enjoyment on the first weekend of June.

Our Fall Festival last year, a new member offering, was such a success that we will be doing a Summer Festival at Kissing Camels Golf Driving Range on Saturday, May 28th Beginning at 2PM, there will be activities for the whole family to include pony rides, a beer garden, live entertainment from Nacho Man band, a petting zoo, garden container planting and much more Hopefully, the event will be well attended by members and will become an annual tradition
The month will close with the opening of the Recreation Center Pool on Memorial Day with a Kid’s Club Ice Cream Social from 11AM to 2PM

Holiday Events and Dining Cancellation / No Show
The 72-hour cancellation policy applies to all special holiday dining and event reservations. A fee of 50% of the prevailing event price for each reserved seat of the event will be charged to the member account or guest who made the reservation and fail to show or cancel within a 72-hour period.

Men’s Golf Association is a wonderful way to connect with other members and meet new friends. Finding new golf buddies can be difficult but participating in the Men’s Golf Association makes this task much easier. The Kissing Camels Men’s Golf Association will kick off at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4th. MGA Opening Day & Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, May 18th. If you have any interest in joining the Men’s Golf Association, please contact Ben Spiers in the Golf Shop. We are happy get you better familiarized with this group should you need assistance. ABOUT RON APGAR
Ron Apgar is a licensed psychotherapist in the State of Colorado and is also a known artist. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art at San Diego State University, a Masters Degree in Divinity at Lola University, a Theology/Educational Psychology from Princeton, and Psychology from Chapman University.
After high school, he served in the United States Army and 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. Early in his career, he worked in Guatemala with a sponsored art program duplicating Mayan ancient historic murals for archival references. He then started a successful private therapy practice in Colorado Springs in 1992. Apgar became a popular speaker at the American Society for Aesthetics in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he was approached by a Professor of Philosophy to put his ideas into a presentation (topics: Art and Psychology, Self-Growth Through Creativity, Posttraumatic Stress and Creativity). The Art of Wellness program was originated at STRATA at the Garden of the Gods Resort.

MODIFIED MURPH CHALLENGE
Two Weeks, May 16th – May 30th
Help honor our fallen soldiers by participating in the Modified Murph Challenge. The Murph challenge derives its name from the Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy who was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 28th, 2005. This challenge will take place over a two-week period starting on May 16th and conclude on Memorial Day May 30th. The modified Murph challenge consist of doing a variety of body weight exercises combined with a run/walk and biking component. You can finish the challenge in one workout or take multiple days to finish. Every time you complete the challenge your name will be added to the Murph Challenge Wall in STRATA Fit.
