“HOT SHOPPES” CHICKEN POT PIE
Before Marriot became known for it’s hotels, it was known for Hot Shoppes. They served American fare classics like burgers, milkshakes, and chicken pot pie. In the 70s, Hot Shoppes was a popular place for families to dine out, with carhop service that made it a novelty. As Marriot shifted their focus to hotels, the last Hot Shoppes location closed in 1999, leaving behind the memory of simpler times when grabbing a burger meant more than just a meal.
