John Reilly MANAGING DIRECTOR
Dear Members,
As we settle into the final stretch of summer, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for helping make this season so memorable. The Fourth of July was a wonderful celebration across the Resort--from lively days spent poolside to families and friends creating lasting memories against the backdrop of Garden of the Gods. Seeing our community come together to enjoy all that the club and Resort have to offer is what makes this place so special.
While summer seems to pass too quickly, there is still much to look forward to. We are excited to welcome you for the finale of our beloved Music Under the Stars series, where another unforgettable evening of live music and mountain views awaits. During mid-August, Strata is excited to host a weekend of relaxation and tips that lead toward a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Closer to the end of the month, wine enthusiasts won't want to miss our special Talley Vineyards 40th Anniversary Wine Dinner, an exceptional culinary experience celebrating four decades of craftsmanship.
Thank you for being an important part of the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club family. Whether you are joining us for a concert under the stars, an extraordinary dining experience, or simply enjoying the beauty of the season, we look forward to creating more meaningful moments with you before summer comes to a close.
Be Well, John Reilly Managing Director

August is National Golf Month. The history of the Kissing Camels Golf Course began with one of the great American golf architects, J. "Press" Maxwell, and his design.
Upon opening the Kissing Camels Golf Course, the Free Press described the design execution as bringing the area "magnificent beauty" through "undoubtedly, one of the finest courses in America."
To celebrate, two camels were imported from Indio, California to caddy--the photos of these camels can be found on the cover of this August Newsletter.

Whether you're chasing a lower handicap, spending more time on the tennis court, or simply enjoying Colorado's active lifestyle, staying healthy is the key to enjoying every season. At Strata Med, we believe the best treatment is often prevention. By improving mobility, addressing small aches before they become injuries, and supporting your body's recovery, you can continue doing what you love with confidence.
Tennis places repetitive stress on the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. While soreness may seem like part of the game, it doesn't have to be. In a recent conversation, tennis professional and our new Club Director, Scott Leifer shares how Strata Med's integrated approach has helped support both injury prevention and recovery for tennis players of all levels. Services like medical massage, gua sha, and chiropractic care work together to improve mobility, reduce muscle tension, increase circulation, and help your body recover more efficiently between matches.
IMPROVE YOUR SWING. PROTECT YOUR BODY.
A powerful golf swing depends on flexibility, balance, and efficient movement—not just strength. Limited mobility in the spine, shoulders, or hips can lead to compensations that not only affect your game but also increase your risk of injury. Dr. James Ashley, Neuro Chiropractor at Strata Med, explains how therapies including chiropractic care, acupuncture, medical massage, and gua sha can help golfers improve mobility, recover faster after a round, and prevent common swing-related injuries.

If you've been looking for an easy way to experience Strata Med's integrated approach to proactive healthcare, the Strata Foundations Package is the perfect place to begin. Designed to help identify movement restrictions, reduce pain, improve recovery, and establish a personalized wellness plan.
FOR JUST $300 (OVER $500 IN VALUE) THIS INTRODUCTORY PACKAGE INCLUDES:
• (1) General Practitioner Visit
• (1) Chiropractic Appointment
• (1) Acupuncture Appointment
UPGRADE YOUR PACKAGE BY ADDING A MEDICAL MASSAGE FOR EVEN GREATER RECOVERY AND MOBILITY BENEFITS. ($400) Whether your goal is to prevent injuries, recover more effectively, or simply move and feel better every day, the Strata Foundations Package provides an excellent first step toward long-term health and performance.
Learn more about the Strata Foundations Package and call 719-749-3308 to schedule your first visit today.

Your face will instantly appear firmer, lifted, and naturally rejuvenated from within.

August is recognized as National Wellness Month, making it the perfect time to focus on the habits that support lifelong health. Holistic wellness combines exercise, staying mentally engaged, connecting with others, and creating routines that help you feel your best every day. This month, we're encouraging members to embrace movement in new ways while celebrating the many physical and mental benefits of staying active.
It's easy to settle into the same workout routine. While consistency is important, variety plays an equally valuable role. Learning a new movement or activity challenges your brain just as much as your muscles. Every time you practice a new skill, your brain creates new neural pathways that improve coordination, balance, and motor control.
Changing your routine can also:
• Improve overall fitness by challenging different muscle groups
• Reduce the risk of overuse injuries
• Prevent workout boredom
• Increase motivation and confidence
• Improve cognitive function through learning and coordination
Activities such as yoga, dance, balance training, and functional exercises combine both physical movement and mental focus, making them excellent choices for healthy aging. If you're unsure where to begin, schedule a session with one of our Fitness Specialists for expert guidance and a personalized approach to your fitness goals. Our Group Fitness classes also provide a supportive environment to explore new workout formats at your own pace.
Remember, growth happens when we challenge ourselves, not by doing everything perfectly, but by being willing to try something new.
August 19th | 5:00PM - 7:00PM | $50 Per person | Garden Terrace Dust off your boots and join us for a fun-filled afternoon! Enjoy a cocktail, included in the price, and enjoy an evening of music and movement. Perfect for both seasoned dancers and beginners, line dancing is a fantastic way to improve balance, coordination, cardiovascular fitness, and memory, all while having fun!
