January has arrived and while we are most definitely still in the grip of winter, our gaze as gardeners is more and more firmly fixed on the season ahead. Small steps are being taken towards our best gardening year ever (every year promises to be the best right?); chillies sown on heated mats, potatoes chitting on the windowsill, trees pruned, and beds mulched. Every small action moves us closer to the growing to come. This issue offers a gentle lean into the new year while also reminding us to take our cues from nature and enjoy the slower days and the rest.
