Story Point: God gave rules to show how to love Him and others. Big Picture Question: What is God like? God is holy, good, and loving. Christ Connection: God is holy and separate from sin. His law shows us what He requires—perfect righteousness. Our sin separates us from God, but Jesus came to bring us back to God. Jesus is perfectly righteous. When we trust in Jesus, He takes away our sin and welcomes us into God’s family. Key Passage: Matthew 22:37-39

• Teach your kids to play a board game or card game. Discuss how it would feel to play without knowing the rules. Remind them that God’s rules are explained in the Bible. • Work with your family to make a list of rules for your family to follow for at least one evening. Rules can be silly or serious.
