As we embrace another year of growth and achievement at Gannon University, I continue to be inspired by the unwavering dedication of our faculty and staff. You shape the minds and hearts of our students, create an environment rooted in care and collaboration, and embody the spirit of a community committed to learning, service, and innovation.

The challenges facing higher education remain, and in some areas, they have intensified. This is causing shifting demographics, rising costs, and continued scrutiny of the value of a college degree. Yet, in the face of these headwinds, Gannon stands strong. We are not only adapting we are leading. And we do so because of your commitment to our mission: to educate, to inspire, and to transform.

Now in my third year as president, I am deeply honored to continue this journey with all of you. The Celebration of Excellence offers us the opportunity to reflect on the past year, to recognize your contributions, and to honor the successes of our students as they prepare to cross the commencement stage. Each student who walks that stage carries with them the impact of your teaching, your support, and your belief in their potential.

Your scholarship, mentorship, and dedication are the foundation of Gannon’s strength. Together, we are a force for positive change a university where ideas come to life and where each achievement contributes to a more just, compassionate, and curious world. This enduring truth captures the spirit of scholarship we gather to celebrate. Your work during 2025 exemplifies the curiosity, discipline, and courage required to advance knowledge and to ask questions that matter within your fields, our classrooms, and the world beyond our campus.

At Gannon University, scholarly inquiry is not separate from our mission; it is central to it. Through research, creative endeavor, and professional scholarship, you have contributed new insights, challenged assumptions, and applied expertise to address real and pressing needs. These achievements reflect both intellectual rigor and a deep commitment to service hallmarks of an education rooted in excellence.

Scripture reminds us, “Let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). Scholarship requires precisely this perseverance. Much of your work unfolds quietly over time through sustained inquiry, revision, collaboration, and mentorship. The accomplishments recognized here are the visible harvest of that faithful and often unseen labor.

Equally significant is the way you draw students into this work. By involving them in research and creative activity, you model what it means to live a life of inquiry marked by curiosity, ethical responsibility, and a commitment to truth. In doing so, you prepare students not only to succeed professionally, but to engage the world thoughtfully and purposefully.

Each spring, the Celebration of Excellence provides us with a moment to pause and acknowledge the collective impact of your scholarly contributions. Taken together, your work strengthens our academic community, enriches our institutional legacy, and extends Gannon’s influence well beyond our campus.

As Dean of the College of Engineering and Business, one of my greatest privileges is recognizing and sharing the scholarly contributions of our faculty. Your dedication to research and discovery enriches your respective fields, strengthens our academic community, and, importantly, elevates the educational experience of our students.

The work represented in this collection reflects a commitment to excellence and a deep engagement with both contemporary issues and emerging challenges.
