Batteries are not merely a technical component of electric and hybrid cars — they are the heart of innovation in tomorrow’s mobility, as they determine vehicles’ performance, range, and costs. Lithium-ion cells currently dominate the market and continue to improve, but they have intrinsic limitations related to charging times (too long for many drivers), range (still insufficient), and sustainability (they use elements that are relatively scarce or geographically concentrated, creating supply chain and environmental challenges). Another highly significant limitation concerns safety. Lithium batteries contain flammable liquid electrolytes and, if overcharged, overheated, or damaged, can undergo dangerous thermal runaway events resulting in fires and explosions. All of these shortcomings have driven research toward a new generation of EV batteries. In particular, solid-state batteries are generating enormous interest, with many viewing them as a landmark breakthrough.
A Matter of Electrolyte
The key difference in solid-state batteries compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries lies in the electrolyte, which instead of being a liquid (or gel) is a solid material (hence the name): it can be ceramic, polymeric, or a composite combining multiple properties. In other words, the basic architecture remains that of a rechargeable cell with anode, cathode, and separator, but the lithium salt is conducted through a solid material, which allows many designs to use a pure lithium metal anode in place of graphite.
The Many Expected Advantages
The switch to a solid electrolyte is not merely a question of substitution. The result is batteries with greater energy density: in simple terms, they can store more energy for the same weight and volume. Experts estimate up to 50–100% more energy, translating into lighter batteries (and therefore lighter vehicles) and greater driving range. With no flammable liquid components, solid-state batteries also promise greater safety: they are less susceptible to fire risk, eliminating the need for complex additional safety systems. Charging times too are expected to be significantly faster. Reports point to considerably shorter times to reach 80% charge, though these figures are still tied to prototypes and laboratory tests. Finally, a further benefit concerns vehicle design: more compact and lighter batteries would allow greater freedom in platform development, with potential advantages in terms of cabin space and driving dynamics.
I tanti vantaggi attesi
The Automotive Giants in The Race
At present, solid-state battery technology is not yet ready for mass deployment. The first hurdle is production cost, which remains high due to the materials involved and industrial processes that are still immature. Widespread adoption will take more time, but it is a very positive sign that major carmakers have decided to invest in solid-state batteries. A couple of years ago, IM Motors — a brand owned by China’s SAIC — introduced a saloon featuring a semi-solid battery, a solution that represents an intermediate step toward fully solid technology. The car has a battery with a slightly more viscous electrolyte than conventional lithium-ion batteries, allowing battery capacity to be increased by 28%, translating into a range of 1,000km according to Chinese homologation tests.
Other carmakers are also working on solid-state battery development. Mercedes-Benz began its first road tests in 2025, announcing that the new technology could reach large-scale sales by 2030. Stellantis, Volkswagen, Honda, and BMW are similarly engaged. The company that appears furthest ahead of all, however, is Japanese Toyota, which is targeting large-scale production as early as 2027–2028, with cars equipped with batteries offering a range of over 1,450km and charging times from 10 to 80% in just 10 minutes. The company has not disclosed much else, but a decisive step was certainly reached in recent weeks with the announcement by its partner Idemitsu Kosan of the start of construction of a facility in Chiba Prefecture dedicated to the production of solid electrolytes for the carmaker. This was followed by the equally important signing of an agreement with another major company — Sumitomo Metal Mining — with which Toyota has been conducting battery research since 2021, focused on the mass production of particularly durable materials to be used in the cathodes of solid-state batteries.
Cell-Free Batteries: A
Revolutionary Architecture
Solid-state batteries are of course not the only technology being developed to make electric cars more capable. An even more revolutionary frontier — though currently less mature than solid-state technology — is represented by cell-free batteries. The concept comes from 24M Technologies, a Massachusetts company spun out of MIT. Its EtoP (Electrode-to-Pack) system is a battery pack in which the anode and cathode are integrated directly into the stack, eliminating conventional cells and the inactive materials associated with them. According to the company, the system delivers the maximum pack-level energy density currently available, along with key improvements in other fundamental areas. Range reaches up to 1,600km per charge, with the added benefit of a significant reduction in production costs.
I giganti dell’automotive in corsa

A few weeks ago, Gröna Lund in Stockholm, one of Scandinavia’s most iconic amusement parks, opened its 143rd season, debuting a custom-themed “Super Jumper” model by the well-known Italian manufacturer SBF-VISA Group: “Spindeln” (Spider), a thrill family ride that parents and young children can enjoy together.
A first for Sweden, this high-energy attraction delivers a mix of bouncing, spinning and speed (9 rotations per minute and up to 3G forces), to the rhythm of the ride’s own signature soundtrack.
The ride capacity is 42 passengers per cycle and thanks to special over-the-shoulders restraints (never seen before in a “Super Jumper”) the minimum height requirement is just 100cm, so that even younger children can safely join in on the action (if accompanied by an adult).
The amazing ride’s theming recalls a spider in an enchanted garden full of mysterious creatures and magical touches. Scenic details immerse guests in the experience right from the queuing area. To get more info on “Spindeln” read the story on page 46 of this issue.
THE MY ARBOR TREE HOTEL IN THE DOLOMITE FORESTS, ITALY: ARCHITECTURE IN PERFECT HARMONY WITH THE SURROUNDING ECOSYSTEM AND A PROGRAM DEDICATED TO THE DEEP WELL-BEING OF BODY AND SPIRIT
A FOREST RETREAT FOR BODY AND MIND
One of the most significant trends in travel over recent years places personal well-being and reconnection with nature at the very heart of the holiday experience. Travelers are seeking stays in harmony with their surroundings that offer a deep sense of physical and mental renewal: off-grid retreats in natural settings or eco-sustainable properties that encourage a slower pace, silence, wellness and meditation, physical activity in the open air, and moments of inner reflection. The holiday is thus becoming a “transformative” experience of personal growth and profound well-being and a journey of “reconnection” with nature, to detox from stress, rediscover oneself and recover a sense of authenticity in everyday life.

wooded slopes above Bressanone at nearly 1,000m above sea level, stands an adults-only spa resort that embodies the perfect destination for those in search of a wellness retreat in nature. It is called My Arbor, and it is no ordinary hotel. It is a genuine tree hotel that, like a stilt house among the trees of the Plose - one of the most beautiful peaks in the Dolomites - rises up to 34m from the ground until it becomes, in every sense, a tree itself.
Its structure - an architectural project led by the studio of Paul Seeber and Wolfgang Meraner, in collaboration with interior designer Gerhard Tauber - is at once remarkable and poetic: raised on metal pillars resembling tree trunks, the building appears to float among the canopies in perfect dialogue with the forest, striking a flawless balance between contemporary engineering and primordial nature. Here, architecture does not intrude upon the landscape - the stay becomes a fully immersive experience. Guests have the sensation of sleeping suspended among the branches of the pines, and the other trees that populate this woodland, wrapped in nature and a sense of deep well-being.
Three Suite Categories And A Mountain-View Spa Wood, the defining element of the surrounding landscape, also prevails in the 104 suites, whose interiors feature larch and red spruce, paired with natural stone, expansive glazing that dissolves the boundary between inside and out, and textile materials such as loden and linen.

TODAY, TRAVEL IS NO LONGER JUST ABOUT VISITING PLACES - IT IS ABOUT LIVING EMOTIONS, UNIQUE EXPERIENCES AND FEELING PART OF A GLOBAL COMMUNITY. MUSIC TOURISM IS ON THE RISE, AND SOUTH KOREA IS LEADING THE WAY
IN SOUTH KOREA, FOLLOWING THE BEAT OF K-POP
In the travel industry, one of the phenomena growing steadily in relevance year after year is so-called “music tourism” - a trend that sees music (concerts, festivals, musical cultures, and music landmarks, become a driver of travel and a new way of discovering destinations.
A phenomenon that engages primarily younger travelers and fuels an economy built on transport, accommodation, shopping and dining, with a considerable economic impact. In figures: music tourism generated $6.53 billion in 2025, and by 2026 it is estimated to reach $7.13 billion, with projections suggesting it will surpass $10 billion by 2030.
The South Korea Effect
In this context, South Korea occupies a privileged position.
B K-pop (pictured: the boy band BTS, arguably its most famous ambassador) is a fast-expanding cultural phenomenon. To give a sense of its reach: between 2018 and 2023, global streams of this genre increased by 362%. Such international success has also driven enormous growth in music tourism to South Korea.
Over recent years, the rise of bands such as BTS, Blackpink, Exo and Twice on the international music scene has fuelled enormous growth in the fanbase for Korean pop music - known as K-pop. The country’s tourism industry is reaping the benefits, with rising arrivals from abroad (above all from Southeast Asia, Japan, the United States and Europe) and forecasts projecting that music tourism in South Korea will grow by 20.3% between 2025 and 2033, reaching approximately $21,580 million (compared to just under $4,115 million in 2024).
Most recently, March 2026 marked the long-awaited return of BTS as a complete group after 3 years away, during

which all band members fulfilled their mandatory military service. The comeback was celebrated with the release of a new single and a free concert in an iconic Seoul square. Government data confirm that “the BTS effect” played a major role in that month’s record-breaking figure of 2.06 million foreign tourists - an all-time monthly record and a 27% increase on the 1.6 million visitors recorded in March 2025.
From Music Event to K-Culture Discovery
There is another telling statistic released by government sources on the flow of international visitors who came to South Korea for the BTS concert in March. It concerns length of stay and average spending: compared with other tourists in the first quarter of this year, music tourists stayed almost 3 days longer (8.7 days versus an average of 6.1 days). Average spend, meanwhile, rose from €1,400 to €1,978. This brings us to a broader observation. In South Korea, as in other countries at the forefront of music tourism, attending a live show frequently becomes the springboard for a longer trip and a cultural experience that extends well beyond the concert itself. As for South Korea, fans are eager to immerse themselves in the K-culture of which K-pop is an expression: neighborhoods, food experiences,

South Korea’s capital is the beating heart of K-culture and an unmissable destination for anyone wanting to explore it. Visitors can join one of the many themed guided tours on offer, or go it alone - starting, for instance, with filming locations used in K-pop music videos (among them Namsan Tower, Changdeokgung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace and Yongma Land), or with a visit to the headquarters of the Big Four of Korean entertainment - SM, HYBE, JYP and YGthe companies that have produced, and continue to produce, all the biggest K-pop stars.

The Beatles at 3 Savile Row".

ITALY LEADS IN CONGRESS TOURISM: FIRST IN EUROPE, SECOND IN THE WORLD
With 616 major events hosted in 2025, for the third consecutive year Italy dominates Europe in congress tourism and ranks second in the world, behind only the USA, which tops the rankings with 709 congresses. This is according to the latest ICCA GlobeWatch 2025 report, which certifies an unprecedented success for Italy. And the result matters: the MICE segment (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) is a true pillar of global tourism (worth approximately $900 billion per year), and in Italy it generates over €1.4 billion annually, across 27 million participants.
The report also highlights Italy's growing weight in knowledgeand research-related meetings: the country ranks second in the world for scientific congresses, third in technology, and fourth in medical sciences. Also noteworthy is the fact that the entire national territory is involved, with cities such as Rome, Milan, Florence, Bologna, Naples and Turin featuring at the top of global rankings.
"Being today the leading congress destination in Europe and second in the world - comments Alessandra Priante, President of ENIT - confirms Italy's international strength and the ability of our regions to attract major events, investments and high-quality visitors. Congress tourism is one of the sectors that contributes most to growth, to spreading tourism beyond peak seasons, and to enhancing local economies."

A MASSIVE WATERPARK BY SUN GROUP HAS JUST OPENED IN SOUTHERN VIETNAM
In Vietnam, water adventure seekers have a new spot to add to their list: the Sun World Vũng Tàu, a 150,000sqm waterpark which opened a few weeks ago about 100km from Ho Chi Minh City, on the country’s southern coastline. Owned and operated by Sun Group, the waterpark is inspired by the floating markets of Southern Vietnam and fully recreates this cultural heritage through interwoven canals, lush coconut trees, traditional basket boats, and peaceful fishing villages… all are placed within a vibrant entertainment space featuring 20 top-notch water rides (with some 100 water slides) among which are regional firsts and record-breakers. WhiteWater from Canada played a key role in shaping the park’s most prominent experiences. Its nearly 100-meter “Mini Blaster” unit “Mystic Ocean Voyage”, for example, was officially awarded the title of the world’s longest water coaster for children, while “Mekong Water Battle” multi-level aquatic play structure is the region’s first and world’s tallest and biggest “AquaForms”: it spans 1,800sqm and incorporates 20 platforms, 132 play features, 9 slides and over 180m of decks, bridges and stairs for guests to explore.
Sun World Vũng Tàu is also home to Asia’s first “Wall Runner” by WhiteWater, named “Serpent’s Aquarium.” Starting at nearly 20m in height, it sends riders in 6-person rafts swinging from one wall to the next, accelerating sideways at speeds of up to 33kmph for 280m of adventure.
THE UNITED STATES IS GETTING READY TO WELCOME MILLIONS OF VISITORS FOR THE FIFA WORLD CUP 2026. BUT FOR PARKS, THE REAL OPPORTUNITIES LIE OUTSIDE THE STADIUM
FIFA WORLD CUP 2026: A KICK FORWARD FOR SPORTS TOURISM
BY DOMENICO MATARAZZO
The United States is preparing to welcome millions of football fans, but the real challenge goes well beyond stadiums, hotels and airports. For operators in the amusement industry, the tournament represents one of the greatest opportunities in recent decades to reach an international audience willing to spend, to stay for several days, and to seek out experiences that go far beyond the 90 minutes of a match. According to FIFA executives who spoke at recent international events — including Transact 2026, the electronic payments trade show we attended — one of the most common mistakes in the United States is continuing to think of the World Cup as a "bigger Super Bowl." The operational model is actually completely different from the American football final held every February. The Super Bowl is a one-shot event: a single day of extreme intensity that concentrates crowds, traffic, spending and media attention into just a few hours. The World Cup, by contrast, is a 39-day, 104-match marathon, each game comparable to a Super Bowl in its own right, spread across the United States, Canada and

B Set to begin next June 11, the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be the first edition to be hosted by 3 nations (the United States, Canada, and Mexico). In total, 16 venues spanning 4,800km will stage a record 104 matches by 48 teams.

Mexico. Its impact on tourism, entertainment and leisure runs far deeper as a result.
For the theme park and attractions sector, the key shift is precisely this: the international World Cup visitor doesn't travel just to see a single match, but tends to turn the trip into a full holiday. According to FIFA, millions of international fans will stay an average of 7 to 10 days in host cities or the surrounding areas. This creates enormous demand for side activities: evening entertainment, visits to all kinds of parks, immersive attractions, shopping districts, fan experiences and major live events.
In many host cities, organisers are already planning fan zones and urban festivals capable of turning the entire territory into a platform for distributed entertainment. The FIFA Fan Festivals, for example, are conceived as large experiential areas featuring giant screens, concerts, food courts, interactive activations and football-themed games. The 2022 edition in Qatar demonstrated the strength of this model: the FIFA Fan Festival in Doha drew around 1.86 million attendees, with concerts, immersive experiences, official merchandise and parallel sporting activities. For 2026, the programme will be even more expansive. The 16 host cities are preparing fan festivals spread across downtown areas, waterfronts and large urban parks, often with formats that closely resemble the world of themed entertainment and festivals.
The integration of sport and amusement is nothing new, but the 2026 World Cup could take it to an entirely different level. In Los Angeles, for example, the FIFA Fan Festival will be hosted at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, with a programme combining match broadcasts, music, entertainment and family-friendly activities. Houston is designing a fan district that could function almost like a temporary entertainment

Sports Tourism Climbs The Ranking
In the media world, broadcasters are placing ever greater focus on live events, sports events in particular, as a way to attract an increasingly fragmented audience. The same trend is felt among major tourism and entertainment operators, who have been watching the growth of global sports tourism for years: travel undertaken specifically to attend live sporting events in person, involving at least one overnight stay in the host city.
Recent research, including a study presented by GSIQ, an international agency specialising in sport and tourism, reveals that regular sports tourists can spend up to twice as much as the average traveller. A PwC study confirms the finding, showing that sports tourism is one of the fastest-growing segments in global tourism: it already accounts for 10% of worldwide tourism spending and is projected to surpass $2 trillion by 2030, with an annual growth rate of 17.5%.
Countries around the world are taking note. Orlando, Florida, won't host any World Cup matches, but it has organised the Orlando Soccer Celebration at Pointe Orlando, running from June 11th to July 19th, where all 104 World Cup games will be broadcast live on giant screens, with festival-style fan zones and live entertainment. Orlando has also put itself forward as a candidate for the Rugby World Cup, confident it stands a strong chance given its ability to offer entertainment, shopping and a complete holiday experience within just a few miles.
On the other side of the world, Queensland in Australia is working to attract international competitions, riding the wave of visibility it will gain as host country of the 2032 Olympics.
Arab countries, through the FIFA World Cup 2022, Formula 1 races, esports and wellness festivals, have built credibility as organisers of major sporting events. Now, however, they face the challenge

of persuading visitors to return, so that the region becomes a year-round tourism destination, not just a stage for one-off events.
To achieve this, the PwC study identifies three fundamental pillars to work on. None of these are new to the entertainment sector, but they confirm how relevant it remains:
• Destination-experience pairing: integrating sport, culture, commerce and leisure to encourage longer stays and higher spending;
• Immersive fan engagement: using digital innovation, storytelling and multi-day festivals to turn visitors into repeat tourists;
• A connected regional ecosystem: linking events and destinations across different regions or states through unified marketing and simplified mobility.
Technological Impact
Events like the World Cup also set new standards that theme parks must measure up to, and technology is at the heart of those standards. Earlier this year, Super Bowl LX, held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, was hailed as one of the most technologically advanced sporting events ever staged in the United States: next-generation WiFi 7, nearly 1,500 wireless access points, smart cameras and sophisticated cybersecurity systems combined to create a hyper-connected environment. For the 2026 Football World Cup, FIFA in partnership with Lenovo has gone all-in on artificial intelligence. Coaches, players and analysts from all 48 participating national teams will have access to "Football AI Pro," a system capable of processing over 2,000 match parameters in real time, from pressing intensity to tactical movements. What was once the exclusive preserve of the wealthiest clubs is now available even to the coach of a small nation like Curaçao, taking part in its first ever World Cup. Each of the 16 stadiums will be equipped with a

eventi sportivi.
• Abbinamento destinazione-esperienza: integrare sport, cultura, commercio e tempo libero per favorire soggiorni più lunghi e una maggiore spesa;
• Coinvolgimento immersivo del tifoso: utilizzare l’innovazione digitale, lo storytelling e i festival di più giorni per trasformare i visitatori in turisti abituali;

"digital twin", a virtual replica of the venue enabling real-time monitoring of crowd flows, security risks and even players' biometric data. On the refereeing side, semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) will use 12 dedicated cameras per stadium and 3D player avatars, generated from body scans of all 1,248 competing footballers, to enable more precise and visually clear decisions. A new "Referee View" feature will broadcast in real time the AI-stabilised perspective from the camera worn by the referee.
It is reasonable to expect these technologies to spread to domestic leagues after the World Cup: in the very near future, audiences will be accustomed to receiving detailed information that, starting from the game itself, will likely extend to all live content.
Even outside the event itself, technology plays an important role. On this front, Bank of America executives at Transact 2026 issued a warning to operators: with 4 to 5 million international travellers expected to descend on North American territory, point-of-sale systems will face a sudden surge in transactions involving foreign cards. Managers need to work with POS providers and fraud prevention teams months in advance to fine-tune the parameters for electronic transactions. Without these precautions, automated security algorithms may interpret the sudden spike in foreign transactions as a coordinated cyber attack. The resulting "false positives", the blocking of entirely legitimate transactions wrongly flagged by the fraud prevention system, would cause disruption that is easy to imagine. These innovations have direct implications for theme

parks too. The digital twin concept, for example, is already being explored to optimise visitor flows and preventive maintenance, but above all to simulate evacuation routes and test the effectiveness of emergency signage.
International Audiences And A Lasting Legacy
One of the most underestimated aspects for American operators concerns the cultural habits of international audiences. Fans from Europe or Latin America have different schedules, expectations and behaviours compared to the domestic sports public, and this has a direct impact on the amusement sector. Extended opening hours, an international food and beverage offer, and evening entertainment could make all the difference during the tournament. For parks and entertainment districts, quickly adapting to a global audience could translate into millions of dollars in additional revenue.
Like the Super Bowl, the World Cup also leaves a significant legacy. But in the case of the World Cup, that legacy tends to reach far more broadly across the entire tourism and entertainment ecosystem. Host cities are investing in transport, lighting, urban security, connectivity and the regeneration of entire districts. Atlanta, for example, has launched a major infrastructure improvement plan ahead of the eight matches it will host: by the end of the tournament, residents will find themselves with renewed historic neighbourhoods, new pedestrian routes, betterlit streets and an enhanced metro service. Similar work is under way in Seattle, Dallas, Miami and Kansas City. For the amusement sector, this transformation can mean new visitor flows, greater accessibility and fresh territorial development opportunities.
But the most important legacy may be something else entirely: the growing habit of global audiences to experience sporting events as immersive, multi-sensory occasions. And it is precisely here that the world of theme parks could play a central role in the years ahead, as a source of inspiration for truly 360-degree experiences. n
JAN BOOTS HAS PASSED AWAY
On May 27, Jan Boots, director of the Dutch Fairground Association (NKB) passed away. He was 75 years old. While not being a traveling showman, for more than 50 years Jan served the fairground industry with passion and expertise, assisting and supporting the operators in his country and fighting for the preservation of the funfair culture.
A showman at heart, he was held in high consideration by the Dutch fairground families; he knew all of them personally, was able to understand their problems and was their reliable and loyal voice with municipalities, ministries and policymakers. His passion for funfairs and their cultural value, as well as the people behind amusement rides, led him to be involved with the trade magazine “De Komeet” too.
The photo below was taken in 2020 when, on the occasion of his 50th anniversary at NKB, Jan was made Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau, a Royal recognition he deserved so much for his achievements and special merits for society.

PORTAVENTURA WORLD SPAIN
The new arrivals for 2026 at PortAventura World aren't rides or shows, at least for the time being. Instead, new are 2 milestone agreements announced by the park in recent weeks. The first one was signed with the iconic hospitality and entertainment brand Hard Rock International and concerns the upcoming opening of a Hard Rock Cafe at the entrance of PortAventura Park.
The first Hard Rock Cafe located within a theme park resort in Europe, Hard Rock Cafe PortAventura will be open not only to park and hotel guests but also to the general public, expanding leisure and dining options in the region, and boosting PortAventura World’s appeal to international guests.
The venue will have a capacity of 430 guests and a recognizable Hard Rock Café style in the interior design, atmosphere and menu. Much more than a restaurant, it will position also as a venue for private and corporate events.
The second agreement, announced in mid-May, concerns a partnership with Vekoma, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of rides and attractions, for the creation of a new mixed reality studio, WeRiseUp.
The company has spun out of Adventure Labs by Portaventura World with the aim of scaling the technology developed at PortAventura Park over recent years and tested in 3 attractions at the Spanish park: “Hysteria in Boothill,” “El Diablo Nero,” and “Expedición ULUM.” In other words, the new company will develop MR experiences for theme parks and cultural heritage venues, such as museums, and the like. PortAventura World will remain both a partner and a client of WeRiseUp, serving as a test site for new products.
“Joining forces with Vekoma was a natural decision,” said Andreu Tobella, CEO of WeRiseUp. “They’re the world leaders in the design and manufacturing of attractions, and they share our vision of creating transformative experiences.” He added: “PortAventura World has firmly believed that this division had enormous growth potential beyond our resort, and that’s why we have promoted its spin-off: to give it the autonomy, focus and ambition needed to lead a new chapter in immersive entertainment worldwide.” n
PORTAVENTURA WORLD
SPAGNA
GARDALAND RESORT ITALY
One of Italy's leading leisure tourism destinations, Gardaland Resort brings together theme parks - the historic Gardaland Park, LEGOLAND Water Park Gardaland (the first LEGO-themed water park in Europe) and Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium - and accommodation (3 hotels with a total of 475 rooms, 264 of which are themed) in one of the country's most spectacular settings: Lake Garda, a destination that draws both Italian and international visitors in its own right.
Immersive experiences, live events and international formats are the hallmarks of this year's new season, which opened on 28 March and runs across 9 months.
As Daniela Bricola, Vice President of Gardaland Resort, puts it: "A 360° offer that ranges from pure entertainment and edutainment to themed stays. Alongside the park's 40 attractions and new indoor and outdoor shows, we have an events calendar that follows international trends and formats to give visitors a truly fun-filled day."
Turning to the events planned at Gardaland Park: this month, from the 16th to the 24th, the spotlight falls on "Prezzemolo Berry Bites", inspired by one of the defining traits of the park's mascot Prezzemolo, his passion for strawberries, a symbol of the summer season and
his playful personality. The event features a series of special days open to everyone and, on selected dates, geared particularly towards families with children, with exclusive activities and guests, immersive edutainment experiences, and moments designed to blend fun and togetherness.
June shifts the focus to music, with an entire weekend, 13 and 14 June, dedicated to the global K-pop phenomenon. Gardaland K-Pop Festival will be a full-scale festival featuring artists and performers coming directly from Korea, in an exclusive for Gardaland and for Italy, with some appearances that will be unique at European level too, spanning live music, dance experiences and fan engagement.
"Meet the Mobs", inspired by the world of Minecraft, will then make its debut on 18 July and run for 6 weeks. The experience will allow guests to meet Minecraft mobs in person in an interactive, family-friendly event. Across the park, 6 themed scenarios will feature baby Mob characters placed in different areas, and anyone who completes the trail and collects them all will receive an exclusive in-game digital reward. Meet-and-greets with the characters, themed merchandise & food will also be part of the fun. n
TOVERLAND
THE NETHERLANDS
Toverland theme park welcomed 1,137,000 guests last year, making 2025 the 4th consecutive year in which over 1 million visitors passed through its gates. This year the park is celebrating its 25 anniversary with many special events, also including ToverFestival: 25 Hours of Magic, from June 27 at 9:00 to June 28 at 10:00. 25 consecutive hours of celebration with guests treated to exclusive activities and experiences in 5-hour themed time slots, including an XXL parade and a fireworks show.
The Dutch park in also investing 98 million euros for a major expansion in the coming years. Plans call for an onproperty hotel transforming Toverland into a destination resort (opening in summer 2027), as well as the addition of new attractions.
The first new ride will be a swinging bobsled ride replacing the popular “Maximum’s Blitz”, which made its final rides earlier this May. The new attraction, debuting during the upcoming winter season will be a world first developed in collaboration with ETF Ride Systems. “After 12 years of intensive use, it was necessary to replace the Maximus' Blitz Bahn,” explains Roy Janssen, Senior Manager Technology and Projects. “Because we cherish tobogganing at Toverland, we looked for a replacement attraction that retains the popular features of the Blitz Bahn.”
Indeed, the new ride still gives riders the ability to control their own speed using levers, but it has new 2-seater vehicles moving on a traditional rollercoaster track and swinging depending on the speed, which makes the ride experience more exciting. n
TOVERLAND PAESI BASSI

SHEDD AQUARIUM ILLINOIS, USA
Afew days ago, Shedd Aquarium in Chicago officially opened a brandnew, immersive theater for 4D experiences, inviting guests to step into the world of penguins, sharks and octopuses. During these multi-sensory adventures, guests watch a short film showcasing the lives and behaviors of aquatic animals, while also feeling immersed in the environment with wind, mist, scents and more surprises.
The attraction is the result of a full renovation of the existing Phelps Auditorium carried out in partnership with SimEx-Iwerks. The immersive theater now features a screen that extends along the side walls, a new seat design, choregraphed special effects, vibrant lighting and dynamic imagery.
Additionally, a newly designed pre-show space allows guests to interact with AR animals and take photos with large-scale visuals, bringing the aquatic environment to life before the show even starts.
“4D Experiences in this reimagined theater will be more immersive than ever before, allowing our guests to not only learn about, but also feel what it’s like to be part of aquatic environments on the other side of the planet,” said Colby Sellers, senior director of guest relations. “A core part of Shedd’s mission is to connect people with nature, and sensory experiences are a great way to spark a lifelong compassion for animals." n
SHEDD AQUARIUM
ILLINOIS, USA
THE LAND OF LEGENDS TURKEY
Since its opening in 2016, The Land of Legends theme park resort has been the number one tourist attraction in Antalya, southwestern Turkey. This season, its Aqua Land area has just unveiled a major expansion of 18 slides and a splash pad. Headlining the project is “Dragonfly Tower,” labelled as Europe’s tallest slide tower at 50m, with 9 slides featuring eye-popping effects. Manufactured by WhiteWater from Canada, the stunning structure is also home to the first “Helix Twist” ever built by WhiteWater. This is a 2-person inner tube slide with an optical illusion that introduces a completely new way to experience movement on a water slide. Rather than simply following a fixed route, riders pass through a series of helical turns that add variation, surprise and a sense of disorientation that keeps them fully engaged from start to finish. Right next to the runout lanes of the new slide tower, a dedicated kids’ area – Butterfly Beach - has also been created. Not just an add-on, it introduces the “Mini Blaster + Rattler Fusion,” bringing together 2 ride elements typically found on larger slides into a format designed for younger riders. By combining uphill blasts with high-banking turns, the attraction gives kids an early introduction to bigger rides elsewhere in the park, and help them build confidence, also encouraging repeat rides. n
THE LAND OF LEGENDS TURCHIA
The Enchanted Britain area of HansaPark, the German theme park on the Baltic Sea, 30km north of Lübeck, has gained a new attraction this season.
On May 23 the park’s 8th rollercoaster debuted, “Cornwall Coaster”, which is a customized “Family Coaster” by Gerstlauer. The track layout features 7 acceleration sections, 3 of which are in reverse, nearmiss effects, multiple station passages, and an 18m tall spike element, which is also the highest point of the attraction. The rollercoaster’s front car is based on a historic locomotive and it pulls 9 cars, accommodating up to 20 riders per cycle. The total distance traveled, both forwards and backwards is 570m and the maximum speed is 50kmph.
The ride’s outdoor theming, not yet fully completed, is based on Cornish landscapes, while the loading/unloading station is modeled after a traditional railway station, with suitcases, posters and a ticket office. n
HANSA-PARK GERMANIA
HANSA-PARK
GERMANY
One of Scandinavia’s most iconic amusement parks, attracting more than 1 million guests each year, Stockholm’s Gröna Lund is also one of the oldest amusement parks in the world, having first opened in 1883.
Its 143rd season, which began on April 25, features as its main highlight the highly anticipated family thrill ride “Spindeln,” a customized “Super Jumper” by SBFVISA Group. The attraction represents the very first installation in Sweden of this popular model created by the Italian company.
The ride features 14 arms and 42 seats, delivering an intense yet family-friendly experience that can also be enjoyed by children - allowing parents and kids to ride together. The attraction combines jumps, rotations (up to 9 per minute), and accelerations reaching a maximum force of 3G, all synchronized with a specially designed soundtrack created to enhance guest immersion.
One of its most innovative aspects is safety: thanks to specially designed over-the-shoulder restraints, “Spindeln” is accessible to children from just 100cm in height when accompanied by an adult, making it the world’s first “Super Jumper” specifically designed for children this young.
Also noteworthy are the attraction’s theming and immersive environments, extending all the way through the queuing area. The creative concept was developed by Jakob Fagerstörm and Joep Grutters. “Spindeln” means “spider” in Swedish, and the ride is inspired by a fantastical arachnid living within an enchanted garden. This magical world, filled with hidden surprises and mysterious creatures, comes to life in the pre-show area where guests wait in line. The queue itself becomes part of the overall ride experience: it tells a story, builds anticipation, engages visitors, and emotionally prepares them for the attraction itself. n
A Spindeln (Spider) is the newest addition to Gröna Lund amusement park in Stockholm for 2026. It's a customized "Super Jumper" family thrill ride by SBF-VISA Group. To promote the ride, the bus stop near the park has also been themed.

AQUASPLASH ANTIBES FRANCE
The French Riviera water park Aquasplash Antibes, part of the Parques Reunidos group, is entering a new dimension this summer, with a major expansion of more than 14,000sqm of additional space – nearly a 40% increase in its total surface area – and the addition of 4 new attractions.
“Aquasplash is reinforcing its role within the French Riviera by offering an even more immersive, fun and accessible experience,” said Damien Montay, General Manager of the park. “We have reimagined the park to deliver more enjoyment, laughter and emotion, making it a must-visit destination this summer.”
Backed by a huge investment, 4 new attractions will be available starting from June 13, supplied by WhiteWater and Murphys Waves. The first is “Riviera Sphere”, a 175m long family rafting slide ride, where guests are aboard large inflatable rafts and reach speeds of 30 to 40kmph.
“Azur Fall” is a 15m high free-fall slide for thrill-seekers, while “Nice Race” is a 2-lane racing slide with a hourly capacity of 340 people
The 4th new attraction is the park’s wave pool which has been completely reimagined. Its surface area, water volume and capacity have more than doubled, reaching now 1,500sqm, 1,350m3 and 3,000 people. Moreover, the brand new wave system can deliver multiple wave types. n

Recent tourism data suggests that the traditional long summer holiday is giving way to shorter but more frequent breaks. In this context, theme parks are no longer just a day-trip option - they're becoming the main reason for the trip itself. Caribe Bay, the water theme park in Jesolo spreading across 80,000sqm just a stone's throw from Venice, has been ahead of this curve for some time. This year, even before the season officially opens, May bookings for 'Park+Hotel' packages are already up 50% on 2025, with strong interest not only from Italy, but also from Austria, Germany, Slovenia and Hungary.
To strengthen its all-inclusive offering further, the park has this year launched its own tour operator, Caribe Bay Booking. By working even more closely with hotels, campsites, residences and other local accommodation providers, a visit to the park becomes a genuine mini-break, easy to book and suited to families, couples and groups of friends, with all the safety, reliability and support you'd expect from an organised travel package.
"In line with major international parks, Caribe Bay recognised the need to offer guests a complete experience, turning a park visit into a structured holiday," says Stefano Tamborino, Commercial Director of Caribe Bay. "Over the past few years, through our 'Park+Hotel' packages, we've combined the fun of the park with the beaches of Jesolo and the allure of Venice. What began as a strategic challenge has turned out to be the engine of record growth, allowing us to evolve from a water park into a fully-fledged tourist destination. The launch of Caribe Bay Booking is the culmination of that journeymarking our official entry into the market as a tour operator."
For the 2026 season, Caribe Bay has set aside 11,200 rooms for 'Park+Hotel' packagesa figure up 25% on 2025 and 54% on 2023. Packages can be booked online through the park's platform and are also available through travel agencies.
There's more new this season: admission now includes access to Caribbean Golf, the adjacent Caribbean-themed adventure golf course with a 24-hole layout, now reachable directly from inside the park through a themed walkway. The park has also gone smoke-free this year. In line with the no-smoking policy introduced by the Jesolo municipal authority across the entire seafront, smoking is now prohibited in all common areas, attractions, the Arena and food and beverage outlets. Smokers are of course still welcome and will find 2 dedicated areas equipped with beach umbrellas and gazebos. n
CARIBE BAY ITALY
CARIBE BAY JESOLO (VENEZIA)
LKINGS ISLAND
OHIO, USA
ast month Cincinnati-based Kings Island theme park brought back one of its most beloved attractions, “Phantom Theater”, which originally ran from 1992 to 2002. The reimagined attraction, now called “Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare” has replaced “Boo Blasters on Boo Hill,” which closed last September. It’s a family-friendly interactive dark ride by Sally Dark Rides that uses the same electric vehicles and ride system as the original attraction, while focusing investment on what guests directly experience: scenery (26 richly detailed scenes representing backstage areas, haunted hallways, dressing rooms and more), animatronics (36 new figures, including 2 in the pre-ride area) and interactive content. Riders are taken through a haunted opera house, where a performance by Maestro, the theater’s resident organist is set to begin. During a storm, a lighting strike unleashes the ‘ghost notes’ from Maestro’s pipe organ. With the help of head usher No Legs Larry, guests are invited to capture and return the notes to the organ so that the performance can begin on time.
Riders’ shooters are special flashlights featuring the interactive pointing system by Alterface from Belgium, which delivers ultra-low latency performance and highprecision tracking to support a fully immersive gameplay experience. With response times as low as 30 milliseconds, the system provides instant feedback between guest input and on-screen reactions. This ensures a smooth, intuitive, and natural interaction, enabling riders to “shine” with light and reveal elements of the environment with precision and without disruption to the experience. n
KINGS ISLAND OHIO, USA
SWISS MAISON CAILLER PLANS A PARK IN AND AROUND ITS CHOCOLATE FACTORY
Maison Cailler, the oldest chocolate manufacturer still in business in Switzerland, has plans for a chocolate-visitor park across 30,000sqm at the site of the company’s factory in Broc, Gruyère.

THE FERIA DE ABRIL 2026 IN SEVILLE WELCOMED MORE THAN 2.4 MILLION
VISITORS
The Feria de Abril in Seville (Andalusia), true to itself since 1847, is one of the most important popular festivals in Europe, capable of drawing masses of Spaniards and foreigners every year with its sparkling mix of colours, events, folklore, fairground rides, scents, flavours and atmospheres that can only be experienced there in Seville, and only during those 7 days of grand celebration. This year the event took place from 21 to 26 April, and according to a statement by the city's mayor it welcomed over 2.4 million visitors (up from 2025) and generated around €1 billion in economic impact on the city, with local accommodation providers among the first to benefit. The average hotel occupancy rate during the Feria period was 89%, 5 percentage points higher than in 2025.
The balance sheet for public transport was also positive, 1.3 million passengers, up 4.7% on the previous year, as was public safety, with few interventions required by law enforcement and a 12% drop in crime. Looking ahead, the city council is working on an expansion project that envisages adding 220 casetas to the roughly 1,050 already present in the Real de la Feria. Casetas are richly decorated mobile structures in Andalusian style, typically owned by associations, businesses, groups and families, and used by Sevillians to celebrate. beneficiarne per prime.

CRUISING IS NOT ONLY ABOUT JOURNEYS AT SEA, BUT ABOUT LIVELIHOODS, OPPORTUNITY, AND LONG-TERM VALUE ON LAND, AS OUTLINED BY WTTC’S “CRUISING FOR IMPACT” REPORT
CRUISE TOURISM: A GREAT FORCE FOR GOOD
Travel & tourism has long been a powerful engine of global growth contributing 10% to global GDP and supporting 1 in 10 jobs around the world. Its true value, however, extends far beyond these headline figures. At its best, this sector creates opportunity, strengthens communities, and improves lives. This is particularly evident in the cruise industry, one of its fastest growing segments, as highlighted by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC)’s latest report “Cruising for Impact”, which examines the global impact of cruise tourism on economies and communities.
Economic Contribution
According to the report, cruise tourism contributed $98 billion to global GDP in 2024 and generated a total economic impact of nearly US$199 billion. The industry supported 1.8 million jobs and delivered over US$60 billion in wages worldwide. The data, sourced from the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), also shows that cruise tourism’s economic impact extends beyond the ships themselves. Over 1.4 million jobs are supported onshore, including

A key finding of the WTTC’s report is the deep integration of cruise tourism with local economies. In 2024, direct cruise-related spending reached US$93 billion benefiting local businesses, including entrepreneurs, small enterprises, microeconomies in port and coastal destinations. This spending supports a range of services, such as tour operators, restaurants, transport operators, local artisans and suppliers.
The report also outlines that more than 60% of cruise travelers report returning to destinations they first discovered via cruise, demonstrating the long term tourism value the industry creates.
Cultural Preservation And Infrastructure Improvements
The positive impact of cruise tourism on communities is not only economic, but also involves local cultural heritage. Cultural heritage is not only preserved but brought to life through cruise experiences (excursions, traditional cooking classes, etc.) that create opportunities to share local traditions, cuisine, crafts and stories with a global audience. These experiences enrich the visitor journey but also strengthen cultural identity, while generating direct economic benefits for the host communities and destination.
Cruise tourism often serves also as a catalyst for critical infrastructure and broader connectivity upgrades that benefit residents and visitors alike. As port destinations expand their capacity, they

frequently invest in port infrastructure as well as essential services including roads, signage, public transport networks. These developments improve quality of life for residents, businesses and foster broader economic development, creating a lasting legacy long after the ships have sailed.
Environmental Solutions with Social Spillovers
The cruise industry’s growing commitment to environmental sustainability is generating significant social benefits in port communities around the world. Take for example the adoption of onshore power supply systems, which allow ships to shut down their engines while docked and connect to local electric grids. This technology can reduce emissions by up to 98%, significantly improving air quality in port cities and delivering measurable public health benefits. In many cases, cruise lines also support marine conservation and coral restoration programmes as well as sustainable fisheries and coastal protection initiatives, thus advancing both biodiversity and social progress. n

CARIBBEAN CONTINUES TO CLAIM LION’S SHARE OF MARKET
The Caribbean continues to be the backbone of the cruise industry. According to the “2026 State of the Cruise Industry Report” by CLIA, in 2025 the Caribbean welcomed 44 percent of cruisers (16.27 million guests), up 8.4 percent from 2024.
The Caribbean growth is supported by the expansion of the homeports with additional and larger terminals, as well as the development of more and enhanced private island destinations in the Bahamas, and the expansion and upgrades of many ports of call.
With its proximity to the United States, which is by far the largest cruise market (55% share in 2025, that is 20.6 million passengers), ease of access, agreeable climate and infrastructure, the Caribbean has commanded the lion’s of the market ever since the modern industry launched out of Miami in 1966 and that trend is expected to continue.

SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS CAN REDEFINE THE FUTURE OF CRUISE INDUSTRY: MEYER WERFT’S ALL-ELECTRIC CRUISE SHIP CONCEPT
READY TO CHANGE THE GAME
German Meyer-Werft shipyard exhibited at the Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami (USA) in April, the world’s largest cruise industry trade show, and presented a concept study for “Vision”, what it says would be the world’s first 100% battery-powered cruise ship with a size of more than 80,000 GT. “We asked ourselves how we can use innovation to reduce CO2 and contribute to decarbonization — not in 50 years, but much sooner. We enable a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of up to 95%,” explains Tim Krug from the Meyer Werft Concept Development Group. The ship will be 275m long and able to accommodate 1,856 passengers, with the battery system supplied by Corvus Energy from Norway, a reliable company, having equipped more than half of the world’s hybrid and fully electric seagoing vessels. The technology is readily available, so if ordered this year, the first ship could be delivered in 2031.

European cruise routes can be covered, for example the route from Barcelona to Civitavecchia (Rome). By 2030, around 100 ports across Europe will offer the necessary charging infrastructure. If desired, the Project Vision ships can also be built as hybrids with small generators, enabling, for example, transatlantic crossings.
New Architectural Approaches
Project Vision also introduces new architectural approaches to cruise ship design. The vertical shaft running through the ship for exhaust treatment and the funnel — which usually occupies parts of the sun deck — can be eliminated. This
Operativa sui tipici itinerari europei

enables an entirely new sun deck design with unobstructed views.
Moreover, the vessel is designed as an all-weather ship and includes fully glazed, weather-protected areas. For example, the typical aqua park has been arranged as an indoor area at the stern, making it usable year-round.
The elimination of main engines is another major advantage: the onboard comfort improves significantly, thanks to less engine noises and vibrations. n
The new ship will accommodate over 1,850 passengers and will be able to operate on the most typical European cruise itineraries.

PRINCESS CRUISES ORDERS 3 NEW SHIPS
The Princess Cruise fleet is growing. The line has announced that it ordered 3 new Voyager-class ships from Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. The ships will be built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard, with deliveries scheduled for 2035, 2038, and 2039. Each ship will have a gross tonnage of 183,000 tons and the capacity to accommodate 4,700 guests on board. These units will be primarily powered by LNG, the best readily available advanced fuel technology that delivers immediate GHG reductions, significantly reducing air emissions vs. other widely available conventional marine fuels.
“The Voyager class will delight both our loyal guests and attract the next generation of Princess guests. We have been leveraging extensive customer and agent research to strike the right balance between evolving our proven winners and introducing new concepts and partnerships grounded in what matters to our current and future guests,” said Gus Antorcha, Princess Cruises President. “From exceptional dining and inviting pool environments to elevated entertainment and beautifully reimagined spaces throughout the ship, we are leaving no area untouched as we thoughtfully evolve the Princess experience.”
Fincantieri recently built 2 Sphere-class ships for Princess Cruises at Monfalcone: Sun Princess, delivered in 2024, and Star Princess in 2025. This new order further strengthens a partnership that has already resulted in 21 vessels built in the shipyard over the past 35 years.
PRINCESS CRUISES
ORDINA 3 NUOVE NAVI

IN THE NETHERLANDS, A FAMILY PARK HAS BECOME A YEAR-ROUND RECREATIONAL DESTINATION, NOT JUST A SUMMER ONE, THANKS TO A THEMED INDOOR AREA FEATURING A BEAUTIFUL INTERACTIVE WATER ATTRACTION
FIRE, FIRE!
For nearly 15 years, BillyBird Drakenrijk park, located in the southeast of the Netherlands near the German border, has been offering many attractions to families: for instance, a beautiful beach where guests can sunbathe and relax immersed in the peace of nature; an outdoor children playground and a monorail powered by the riders' pedaling; areas to play soccer and beach volley; a recreational lake with an inflatable water park and a 15m high castle with a lookout dragon, which is actually a large structure for little ones featuring climbing nets, slides up to 12m long, and special effects (lights, sounds, and smoke) that add excitement to the experience.
However, something was still missing from this primarily summer-based park: a large indoor

entertainment area to guarantee an alternative for families on rainy or cool days during the high season and, why not, the possibility of staying open well beyond the summer.
In March 2025, the park's owners (spouses Ton and Gerry Derks and their family) started construction on a 2,200sqm indoor structure that was officially inaugurated last February. “Drakendorp” (The Dragon Village), as it is called, is a playground, but it is also much more - a complex and complete attraction for families with children, capable of standing on its own and ensuring year-round operations.
Inside The Dragon Village: Games And Flames
After entering “Drakendorp” through a portal reminiscent of a medieval castle, visitors have many games at their disposal across various levels, several of which are typical of a playground but presented in a themed and modern style that makes them engaging: for example, there is a ball pit containing a large screen where a video
all’esperienza.
The attraction engages children and parents: using water cannons, they must extinguish the flames that are burning down a medieval village. An enraged dragon present there started the fire.

game appears, and an enclosed slide shaped like a dragon coiled around a tower that houses tunnels, walkways, and other games. There is also a track for tricycles where kids can challenge each other to see who is the fastest, and for children aged 0 to 3, there is a soft play area. The crown jewel of “Drakendorp,” however, is something that has nothing to do with classic playground equipment: a high-impact interactive water attraction developed by Jora Vision in co-operation with Lagotronics Projects, which engages children and parents in putting out a fire started by a wicked dragon that is burning down the village.
Interactivity And Technology
Guests aim with water cannons to extinguish flames in a richly themed facade. Behind each window, highresolution screens display dynamic flame animations that respond directly to guests actions. The more water is sprayed, the faster flames disappear, creating an immediate, playful form of interaction that rewards teamwork and encourages multiple kids to participate

This makes the system reliable and low-maintenance, even under heavy daily use. The show is enhanced with smoke, lighting and sound effects (like the dragon’s roaring and the crackling of flames) that fully immerse players in the story.
A Year-Round Attraction
With “Drakendorp,” BillyBird Drakenrijk takes a decisive leap forward and significantly expands its potential user base, no longer limiting itself to being a seasonal family park. Thanks to this vast indoor entertainment area, it can now stay open year-round, positioning itself as a recreational destination even in cold months and the perfect place to celebrate birthdays or other occasions for families and groups of kids. n

A RECENT REPORT DETAILS HOW PARKS AND ATTRACTIONS IN BRAZIL PERFORMED IN 2025
A SECTOR BRIMMING WITH VITALITY
During the 7th SINDEPAT Summit, the main event for parks and attractions in Brazil, held in Rio de Janeiro in mid-May, the 4th edition of “Sectoral Panorama” was presented, an annual study by SINDEPAT and ADIBRA trade associations mapping the performances of over 860 members including amusement and theme parks, water parks, nature parks, tourist attractions, and FECs.
Based on data collected, Brazilian parks and attractions welcomed some 143 million guests in 2025, up 4.8% compared to 2024. The sector's revenue reached R$ 9.5 billion (approx 1.62 billion euros), an increase of 12.8%, and accounted for 202,000 direct, indirect and outsourced jobs, a number 6% higher than that recorded in 2024.
Moreover, according to the report, the sector has R$ 11.5 billion (around 1.97 billion euros) in planned investments, with R$ 7.1 billion (around 1.2 billion euros) in 70 new projects, including 20 water parks, 17 amusement and theme parks, 16 tourist attractions, 13 FECs and trampoline parks, and 4 natural parks.
“The Panorama figures show a sector that continues to grow, investing and believing in the potential of Brazilian tourism, even in a very challenging economic environment, with high interest rates, increased costs and pressure on household consumption,” says the president of the SINDEPAT Council, Pablo Morbis. “Even so, we continue to see new projects coming and entrepreneurs betting on the development of

TOCA SOCIAL BRAND EXPANDS WITH VENUES IN THE US AND PARIS
The interactive football and dining experience TOCA Social is going more and more global with venues opening outside of the UK, the brand’s homeland.
Last March, TOCA Social’s first location in the USA opened in Dallas (Texas) at the Grandscape shopping center. The 1,860sqm attraction welcomes soccer enthusiasts as well as casual players, and just like any TOCA Social venue it combines immersive technology, interactive play, and fine F&B offering. Games are housed in ‘social boxes’ that are able to accommodate up to 12 players and offer games featuring TOCA’s proprietary ball-delivery and tracking technology. Eating and drinking is a key part of the experience and entertainments also include match viewings on huge 4K screens.
The Dallas location will be joined by new ones in other major US cities. Moreover franchising agreements have already been signed with partners in Mexico for a rollout of 20 venues.
In Europe next June 12, TOCA Social is set to open its first venue in France’s capital city: TOCA Social Paris will be located at Westfield CNIT shopping center in La Défense district. It will cover 2,000sqm and feature 19 playing boxes. Thanks to a joint venture with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) that TOCA Social signed last year, the company targets up to 20 venues across continental Europe.
The first Toca Social opened at O2 in London in 2021. This was followed by a venue in Birmingham in 2024, and then another in London last year.

The Titanic is more than a ship: it is a legend. Launched in 1911 and deemed “unsinkable,” its tragic end in 1912 continues to captivate and inspire curiosity across every continent.
An attraction currently drawing enthusiastic crowds in more than 12 cities worldwide — from Chicago to Milan, from Dubai to Santiago — tells this story through new forms of expression suited to today’s audiences: curious, eager to be culturally enriched, and at the same time drawn to interactive experiences that engage them physically and emotionally, all the better when shared with others.
We are talking about “Titanic: A Voyage Through Time,” a VR experience created by Fever - a leading platform for immersive cultural and entertainment experiences - in which fun, history and technology come together to reveal the dramatic story of the legendary ocean liner from an entirely new perspective: that of the protagonists themselves, not mere bystanders. “Thanks to virtual reality, this story is not just told, it is lived,” explained Giulio Baldo, Fever Originals Italy manager, at the Milan launch a
A VR EXPERIENCE CREATED BY FEVER IS TAKING THE WORLD BY STORM, ALLOWING GUESTS TO LIVE THE STORY OF THE TITANIC AS PASSENGERS OF THE ERA ON BOARD THE LEGENDARY OCEAN LINER
AN IMMERSIVE VIRTUAL CROSSING
few days ago. “Titanic: A Voyage Through Time was born from a precise ambition: to democratize access to history and culture through immersive technology, allowing people to enrich their cultural and experiential horizons with an event accessible to everyone. We didn’t want people to look at the Titanic through a glass case or a screen, we wanted them to walk on board.”
And indeed, the experience, developed in collaboration with experts at Musealia to ensure historical accuracy, transports guests back to 1912, on board the ship, to relive the ocean liner crossing from its departure from the port of Southampton to its fateful collision with a giant iceberg.
Once the headsets are on, the 45-minute journey begins in the present day, in the heart of the ocean, nearly 4km below the surface, where guests can observe the wreck as it looks today. From there, still physically inside a simple room, they travel back to 10 April 1912 to board the ship as firstclass passengers.
They are greeted by an officer who begins the tour on deck, sharing stories of life on board. Visitors can also speak with the lookouts scanning the horizon for icebergs, and venture into the engine
For about a year now, the VR experience “Titanic: A Voyage Through Time” created by Fever has been touring the world to great public acclaim. It has already visited, among other cities, Orlando, New Delhi, Los Angeles, Melbourne and Paris. It is currently showing in around 15 cities worldwide.

But that’s not all. They are then escorted to their lavishly appointed private cabin before exploring other areas of the ship, such as the iconic grand staircase, the dining rooms and the bridge.
