ENHANCING PARKS AND LANDSCAPES LIBRARY LANDSCAPING Location: 1000 Caroline Avenue, Galt 95632 Overview: The Library Landscape Project included a full renovation of the existing landscaped areas. Our Parks team removed the aging plant material, converted the pop-up spray irrigation system to a more water-efficient drip system, and installed new drought-tolerant plants. These improvements refreshed the overall appearance of the library grounds while reducing water use and supporting easier long-term maintenance. Before

Parks & Recreation Commission The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Commission is to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council and make recommendations to the City Council on policy matters concerning parks and recreation issues. Commission meetings held on the second Wednesday of every other month, 6:00 p.m., 380 Civic Drive.

Physical Fitness Creative Movement & Dance Classes Ms. Delgado brings to the Galt Dance Center an extensive teaching background. After several years of instruction at the San Francisco Ballet School, she received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees in Dance at the University of California, Irvine. Youth Basketball Sports Training for Coaches is Saturday, October 24th, 2026. Picture Day and exhibition Games are December 5, 2026 at Liberty Ranch High School. Scrimmage games may be played at various schools throughout the day as well. Games may start on December 12 and should conclude by the last week of February. LATE FEES CHARGED BEGINNING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2026. For Grades 4 - 8, participants will participate in a draft for team placement. Additionally, each Head Coach and one Assistant Coach per team will be able to “freeze” one player each for their teams. Participants cannot request coaches or teams. Siblings are the only participants who can request to be placed on a team together.

This class aims to improve senior drivers’ road safety by refreshing their knowledge of traffic laws, assessing their driving abilities, and providing strategies to adapt to age-related physical changes that may affect driving skills.The program covers various topics, including current road rules, safe driving practices, the impact of aging on driving, and alternative transportation options if driving is no longer feasible. The goal is to help seniors drive safely for as long as possible and understand when it might be time to transition away from driving. The class typically lasts about two hours and complimentary lunch will be provided by Kaci Boyd, Farmers Insurance to all registered participants. Space is limited to 30. Banded Together In this class, we will use a variety of bands, light dumbbells and sub-maximal body weight exercises for a full body workout. This class is a mixture done seated and standing. We will also work on balance and strength building for a more active lifestyle. All fitness and ability levels are welcome; whether you get around with a walker or just finished a 5K, you will get a great workout. No class on October 12, 2026.
